  1. Regardless of how you feel about the issue, the Deadspin comments are hilarious. Not really kid friendly, but funny all the same.
  2. No one is using just this incident though. People are looking at his total history.
  3. Well said, Strawboss. I was going to post something similar. He could be a great guy when he's not at the ballpark but the above list is enough for me to have a poor impression of him as a person.
  4. http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5hgwxhyoSXydVAyH_Oj6RLwyUl-5QD98696C83 "I explained that ballhawking is my hobby and that what I was asking in return was fair," Yohanek said Thursday, in an e-mail to The Associated Press. "I told him I make $50,000 a year working in law enforcement and that I didn't feel like I was asking for too much. He responded, 'Good for you.' Real classy. Way to respect law enforcement. Way to respect a fan."
  5. I have MLB.tv. I connected my lap top to my TV via S Video Cable and when I have the game on full screen it's like watching it on regular TV. Very nice! The one complaint I have is that if I want to hear Uke call and game yet watch it on TV the feeds come through at different times. So I'll hear Uke make a home run call before it happens on TV. For that reason, I usually just watch the game with the BA and Rock announcing.
  6. Is he actually a cop? I've seen him say he's in "law enforcement" but that could be a lot of things. No knock on him just curious.....if he's not a cop he should make that clear because a lot of people think he is.
  7. For what it's worth, a signed Hanley Ramirez bat goes for about $150 on eBay right now.
  8. To me if a guy is wearing opposing team gear simply to get balls, he's a fan of getting balls and not a Brewer fan. Plain and simple. And the schtick about him only making $50K and the law enforcement entitlement is pretty sad. Maybe go into a different line of work or open a business if you are so destitute. There are some things in life money can't buy. I'm sure if he somehow lost the video of his kid taking his first steps and then had to barter to get it back he'd be pretty peeved.
  9. The money thing holds no water with me. That's like going out to dinner with a rich guy and expecting him to pay just because he has money. Apparently, HY has nothing of nostalgic value in his possession.
  10. Looks like the person that caught Chris Coghlan's home run ball drove a hard bargain when asked to give it up. It was Goghlan's first HR ever. This reminds me of the time the Happy Youngster tried to get the equivalent of season tickets for Jenkins' 200th HR ball (or whatever it was). Is the Happy Youngster up to his old tricks? Edit: Wow, I just read the comments under the story and it WAS The Happy Youngster. Way to make us brewer fans look classy! You really thought you could get a Hanley Ramirez signed bat for a Chris Coghlan HR ball??
  11. Game. Set. Match. For fun, let's see if we can decide on 2nd place......I'll submit the following: http://l.yimg.com/lx/artist_images/851/002/000/2851-large.jpg Lemmy from Motorhead http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g204/automatic_writing/IggyPop.jpg The aforementioned Iggy Pop. http://urgh.files.wordpress.com/2007/08/meatloaf.jpg Mr. Loaf http://www.friendsofcannabis.com/directory/images/stories/r/keithrichards.jpg Keith Richards (who even when he was young was pretty gnarly).
  12. Yep. Perfect. Thanks, Yoda.
  13. Hey, is there a good resource out there that shows current future season salaries for each player? Actually, I know I can get current season salaries, but say, for example, I want to know what Bill Hall is going to make next year...where can I find that? I assume someone knows this off the top of their head. I've looked at a few sites and couldn't find it.
  14. I still think he's out in front on most hits but somehow he adujsts and has the strength to absolutely sting the ball. That dinger he hit tonight he was way out on his front foot. You compare that with the like 9,000 ft home run he hit in St. Louis a few years ago and you can see the difference. I think he has the potential to hit some absolutley ridiculous home runs if he can stay balanced. But don't mess with a good thing.....stay out front if it works, Rickie.
  15. What determines Super Two? Braun came up in May as well. It's different for each guy right?
  16. Eventually the guy stopped playing his tunes during the day. He still cranks them pretty good in the late afternoon once in a while but it's not on repeat like it used to be. Also, I've gotten in the habit of putting my iPod in while working which drowns it out if he does play it.
  17. I would actually watch that for the comedic value alone. I wonder if people actually make movies with the intent of them becoming campy cult classics?
  18. You have no right to be upset. Its like taking your kids to a R rated movie and complaining that the movie was inappropriate for your kids. True to an extent but just because you're at a baseball game doesn't give you free license to swear. If someone does bring their little kids people should respect that. I'm not a prude by any means (I probably drop more F bombs than most people) but I don't do it in front of little ones. I had one trailer trash queen tell me once that it wasn't a family section so she could swear if she wanted.....then she fell down drunk. That was pretty funny.
  19. You'd boo him for something that wasn't his fault? Odd.
  20. I was at a game a few years ago and some guy in the first row of loge refused to sit down. He said to the people behind him "I paid my money, I can stand if I want to" to which someone replied "I paid my money to see a baseball game, not your fat arse." I thought that was funny.
  21. Not to mention that little hop he does before he catches a fly ball.
  22. It's funny. I listen to Chicago sports radio and the Cub fans have identical stories to the ones here but theirs have Brewer fans as the instigators. Like FTJ said, same clowns different jerseys.
  23. Sec 209 was almost all Brewer fans except a handful on Friday. My friend saw a pretty gnarly fight on Opening Day. Some guy got his fash mashed in pretty good - don't remember if a Cub fan was the masher or the mashee though.
