  1. Marmol will be closing soon enough. Probably by the end of May.
  2. Way to represent the Big Ten, MSU. I can't stand Izzo and Suton might be my least favorite player on a Big Ten roster but it's nice to have a team in the Final Four.
  3. Maybe Omar will come in with his shotgun and start blasting.
  4. I'm still having a hard time seeing Stringer Bell on The Office. I keep waiting for him to put a hit out on someone.
  5. I hate brewerfan.net and all it's supporters.
  6. My company isn't giving out pay raises this year in order to prevent layoffs.
  7. Right. They played one game at the Spectrum (which is across the parking lot from the Wachovia Center) in order to get those home games.
  8. I don't like the 'home court' that the higher seeds get these days. Villanova, UNC, Duke, etc. etc. Way to stack the deck to the big programs, NCAA. I think Kansas had two games in Kansas City last year.
  9. "I think that next year depends on how good the two redshirt guys (Ryan Evans and Jared Berggren) are." I hear incoming frosh Brusewicz might be a Krabby type player - banger, rebounder, defender. Although I agree that most of the big men a more perimeter types. I wonder if Gavinski or that dude from Texas will get any minutes next year? As an aside, that Vander Blue kid looks like just what they need. An athlete that can drive and shoot the three. Too bad he's only a junior this year.
  10. My Lord Illinois is just brutal. How are they a five seed?
  11. Half? Heck, I would say we would find fault with all 30 managers if we watched them enough. I meant we'd be dissatisfied with half of every manager's moves. Not half of the managers. Sorry, wasn't too clear. Me fail english.
  12. I'm sure we could have any of the other 29 managers in baseball and we could dissect each and every move and be pretty dissatisfied with half of them.
  13. Downtown is very walkable. If you're headed there from Mission Valley, take the trolley (light rail). If you want to bounce up the coast, there's a commuter rail called The Coaster that stops in Carlsbad and Oceanside and Solana Beach (not sure where else). Ocean Beach and Pacific Beach have parking on the streets and I'm sure there's public parking. Once you park you can walk all over the place. I highly recommend getting fish tacos. There's a place called The Brigantine in Del Mar I believe (pretty close to the racetrack) that has some really good ones.
  14. Macha has also made a lot of positive comments. Like this one: "The way the rest of our lineup sets up, we've got guys with so much power," said Macha. "People say a typical leadoff hitter can steal a base. I don't want to be giving up outs on the bases with guys up there who can hit homers. Do you want to get thrown out on the bases when Prince (Fielder) is hitting? I don't think so." So...there's that. Not to mention, stupid is as stupid does. Until he starts batting Kendall leadoff in a regular game, he hasn't really done anything wrong.
  15. I didn't know that off the top of my head but when you google "Inventor, Architect, Amateur Artist" he was one of the first responses.
  16. Alfred Mosher Butts - inventor of Scrabble.
  17. Yeah that was pretty funny. I think they have it figured out now.
  18. Butler making a nice comeback. Apparently, Mormons do not believe in defense although I think they'll make a run in the second half. BYU was a sleeper of mine. By the way, CBS Sportsline absolutely rules on days like today.
  19. If you look just at Macha's quotes and not at Witrado's conjecture, it's probably easier to swallow: "Villanueva has had one good outing all spring as far as I'm concerned," Macha said. "The other outings he's pitched just a single inning and been mid to high 20s with his (pitch count)." "I'm going to talk to him tomorrow and talk to Billy and see what our plan of attack is with him," Macha said. "He hasn't had too many good outings this spring." "Does that go to (Todd) Coffey? Does that go to (Seth) McClung?" Macha said. "We're going to have to figure it out. He's got a bit of a track record of getting people out so we're going to have to figure out what's going on." I'm guessing Witrado asked him who would close if Villy was ineffective and Macha answered appropriately. He then went on to compliment Villy by saying he's got a track record of getting people out. I think this is much ado about nada.
  20. You cannot be serious. You've never seen a coach take a shot at a player's performance in a post game presser? Bill Parcells called Terry Glenn a woman for crying out loud.
  21. I think the thing that dings the Brewers the most is the lack of any 5 star top ten talent. Escobar is about it and he's like top 20.
  22. Oh come on. These guys are professionals not little leaguers. It's quite possible Macha is just trying to light a fire under Villy's bum. Coaches do this all the time.
  23. For years IBM made their male employees wear white dress shirts and solid color ties. It was part of their image/brand whatever you want to call it. I don't see a reason why this should be looked at any other way. The team wants to represent themselves a certain way.
