  1. Can we curtail our own trash on this board and get rid of posters such as Tplush that make such asinine comments.....there was a huge thread longing for the days of certain individuals....culling the garbage that pollutes the board now would be a good start
  2. Sardinas got pulled...not sure if there has been an injury or trade to Padres as I am not listening to call
  3. Take a look at Despaigne's pitch chart/info on fangraphs...very difficult for a pitcher to sustain success with that kind of profile....he is of zero interest to me and it should be noted that Brandon Morrow beat him out for a starting gig this season...Renfro, Spangenberg and Maurer would be a more suitable haul
  4. just to respond to original message questions....due to issues finding new owner we actually started completely over with a couple new owners and started with a new inception draft...we currently have all spots filled....
  5. Wow - Giannis told me to stuff his role player designation I made down my own throat....watch this compilation from the 27/15/4 Rocket game (which shows 2 amazing blocks, tho he was credited for 1 block on the night - NBA official scorers suck) He reminds me so much of Magic Johnson in this montage...the spinning court to court assist he made 1/4 of the way in was simply an incredible play...there are about 5 Wow, I cannot believe what he just did plays in this video, and that is not even including the 3 18 footers that he hit - which if he can consistently hit that will literally make him an MVP candidate one day http://www.bucksketball.com/2015/02/giannis-already-set-a-new-career-high-come-look-how-good-he-is/ Just a reminder - he will not be able to drink until a couple weeks after this upcoming Thanksgiving......insane
  6. Every single one of their players is a role player....as much as I love Giannis, right now the deficiencies in his game make him a good role player, not a star...Knight and Middleton, Bayless and Pachulia, Dudley and the rest....all role players...the fact that this team is 26-22 is amazing....Kidd has been worth at least 8 games...the talent level of the team is more along the line of Indiana, 18-30ish is what their record should be
  7. I am in a Dynasty fantasy league that needs a new owner to take over a very challenging team...you have 100 total players with 25 on active roster with a 130 million real salary cap based on actual salaries...it is well organized but the team that would be taken over (the Pirates, if you follow the link) would be a long term build...we are doing an international draft with a 10 million salary cap as soon as the new owner is found, so there are myriad ways to build the team back up. Please post in this thread if you are interested, but also follow the link and speak to Sid, the commish, if you want to grab this team. http://z15.invisionfree.com/FEL/index.php?showforum=43 ------------------------ EDIT: This topic replaces Fantasy Baseball 2014
  8. Ernie Banks was an amazing player, but an even greater baseball ambassador.....fake, frat-boy Cub fans have caused me to loathe the Cubs but Banks is perhaps my favorite non-Brewer player that I never saw play live
  9. pretty cool - someone has to tip Bryson off to this site as well as the Prospectus article
  10. Holy crap...these Lohse trades on this thread suck to no end...Briggs and Brewballs I just do not get your logic
  11. I could be making a jump here, but it seems that Brewer fans are really under-estimating what Lohse has given to the Brewers the last 2 years..3 IP shy of 400 innings, 3.45 ERA with a 1.16 WHIP is in the top10-15 stats lines over the last 2 years in the national league....Lohse seems like a guy that could stay effective far beyond the age expectation as well....Lohse deserves a very substantive haul if he is the outgoing pitcher
  12. Demuth had a .593 OPS at Wisconsin as a 23 year old.....not exactly a rousing debut.....we need a third baseman and soon
  13. Keith Law hates the deal for the A's, which is great news for the athletics....
  14. As usual, I disagree with the majority on this board regarding a trade....Graveman is one of those pitchers that is going to far surpass his prospect ranking (he was leading Miss State in 2013, jumped every level in 2014 and was quite good in bullpen role at end of 2014 for Jays), and Barreto screams high level prospect to me, as he dominated his league as a 18 year old shortstop - that happens rarely......Nolin is meh to me but could log some quality innings in the Colosseum. Lawrie needs to stay healthy and control his asshattery, but I think his downgrade from Donaldson should me fairly slight, and the increase in overall talent in this trade more than mitigates it for Beane and Oakland......love this trade for them, and Toronto needs immediate impact - they needed to strike in 2015, and Martin and Donaldson make that much more likely, so the trade makes sense for them as well
  15. According to an article I read Brewers were attempting a deal for him as well
  16. As a long-time Brewerfan member that lives out of state in North Carolina, I am compelled to thank Brewer fans for keeping this team competitive by turning out in what I regard to be amazing numbers. Just a couple thousand fans short of 2.8 million in attendance is rather stunning to me, and while Mark A. is surely not happy with our fade, he has to be thrilled that the teams run at the division title helped to bring fans to the stadium at this type of level. Without this type of support Melvin would not be able to put out another incredible stat to me - an ending payroll of 113.6 million for the 2014 year. Next year looks to be even slightly higher - looking at between 115-120 million - again all made possible by the outstanding attendance that a decade ago I did not think was possible (Rluz, where are 'ya). I would guess that for every 200k drop in attendance we would need to likewise pare payroll by 7-8 million. As we head into an offseason that I think will bring us fewer changes than many would like, this element bears consideration
  17. Holy smokes, that is a brutal pic......Stanton is a pretty cool guy methinks
  18. Miguel Diaz is a 19 year old that has caught my eye before, but the first hand reports of his stuff from Mr. Mitchell, out photog friend are kinda stunning....sitting at 94 on the gun with his fastball and a knee buckling curve....for a 19 year old that is some exciting stuff Is there a chance that this Diaz had some votes counted in as well to account for the large number of votes for Brandon Diaz?
  19. Miguel Diaz is a 19 year old that has caught my eye before, but the first hand reports of his stuff from Mr. Mitchell, out photog friend are kinda stunning....sitting at 94 on the gun with his fastball and a knee buckling curve....for a 19 year old that is some exciting stuff
  20. Ramsey and Schumacher have as much in common as Kate Upton and Rosie O'Donnell.....Ramsey was having the 2nd best season in Texas League behind only Joey Gallo and had a .916 OPS in a pitching dominated league....Ramsey is a better prospect than Tyrone Taylor
  21. Never Outhustled - X - is that you....good to see you old friend Coulter and Arias are my favorite prospects...I would be sad to see them go, but Price is an amazing get if possible
  22. DHonks....so sorry about your brother.....take care man....i have been talking to you about the Brewers for almost 15 years now I think....life has its share of curves
  23. just had an oh crap, really? moment as I searched for Midwest league OPS leaders as saw that the still 20 year old Clint Coulter is leading the whole enchilada with a .915 OPS Freaking impressive..... he should be a top 100 milb prospect easily
  24. Very interesting stuff showing up on twitter involving Jason Kidd, his model/actress wife Porshla and one half of the twin daughters of Marc Lasry. They are hanging out together and Porshla Kidd states that she is trying to get Lasry's daughter to move in with them.... Not sure what to make of it but it is interesting to say the least
  25. i disagree FV....for some reason national and local writers have gotten rabid over this story despite the FACT that Drew did the exact same thing that happened to him this time around with Mike Woodson to get the Hawks job....bodenholzer learned from spurs boss Popovich and got the hawks job in the EXACT same way, and it goes on and on.....this happens every year in the NBA with nary a peep.....i called this to the attention of a national writer and he sheepishly admitted this was the case right after he had blasted the Bucks for doing it.... those that think this was shady are over-reacting at the least and some of these media types are downright lemmings
