  1. I agree that Dempsey will probably start next to Altidore out of necessity, but I'd really like to see him given a run in central midfield. Before his injury, I felt like he was starting to pattern his game after Danny Murphy, which would be *really* nice to have for a team that struggles to hold possession at times. And I know this probably won't happen, but I'd be tempted to give Hahnemann a shot in goal. He's been awesome this year. Hot hand and whatnot.
  2. I think Rose is overrated but it should be noted that I also really hate the Bulls http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  3. I'd think this would have to be Rangers-Celtic, which is probably the biggest rivalry in all of sports.
  4. They should bring in Jon McGlocklin to do color. I don't even know if he's a baseball fan, but over-the-top homer announcers are just awesome.
  5. Wasn't he recently working as a scout for the Brewers?
  6. Salmons has a player option. At the time of the trade, it was pretty much assumed that he would pick it up, since he wasn't playing as well.
  7. Yes.But do we want another lefty? If Atlanta is really favored on the road tomorrow, I'm flying to Vegas right now.
  8. OH MY HEAVENS so...is Bogut still out for the "season"?
  9. Loved the "Danny G" chant going throughout most of the 3rd quarter. Got to give him credit, he's been playing great since Bogut went down.
  10. Wow, I didn't know they still made Nike Frees. I bought a pair several years ago and thought they were great, but I hadn't seen them in stores since...figured they just didn't take off. I definitely prefer to have as little "shoe" as possible on my feet when I run...I do like running barefoot, but that scares me a bit. Track spikes work alright too.
  11. Oh yes. It would almost be like listening to wrestling announcers. "Now Ken Macha is walking out to the mound to talk with Suppan, and...OH MY GOD! THAT'S TODD COFFEY'S MUSIC!"
  12. Entry-level DSLRs can do video now, so that might be an option. Video quality on those would probably be much better than anything else in the price range, but the downside is that they can't autofocus or meter, and I believe you can only do about 5 minutes of video at a time. Depending on how far away your subjects are, autofocus might night be an issue.

  14. I guess this means that we're all going to hate Conan by the time the baseball playoffs are over.
  15. I'm sure the Royals would be happy to trade.
  16. I had a thought last offseason that untested AAAA superstars might be the next big "moneyball" thing. Teams have figured out that they don't have to give Braden Looper $5m for mediocrity when they can find some minor league free agent who projects to be equally good, if not better. MLBPA needs to come to grips with the fact that teams aren't as willing to overpay for intangibles that don't translate to wins anymore.
  17. I'd be very interested to see what we could get in a trade. Between the huge expiring and possible insurance money, Redd should be incredibly valuable. Or maybe he'll opt out this summer.
  18. Has there ever been a championship game at any level with so many missed layups? Has Dan Gadzuric ever played in a championship game? If Gus Johnson were calling the game, Butler would have won for sure. Come on CBS, we can't be having golf announcers for games like that.
  19. Is Butler really that much of an underdog? They're ranked #8 in the latest top 25 poll, and have been pretty high throughout the season. The Horizon League seems to be perceived as relatively weak still, even though its teams have always done pretty well in the tournament.
  20. http://zedomax.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2007/05/super-sized-remote-control.jpg
  21. Brezec's only real "strength" (besides 3 second violations) is offense, so yeah, I'd agree. Butch would be a slightly taller version of Ilyasova. I guess its an opportunity to audition backup centers for next year, since we clearly need something different. Thomas is alright, but he's gone after this season. Brezec just isn't what we need, and his contract is up anyway. I just want a big dude who can step in and play defense (and know his limitations offensively, sorry Gadz)...Stiemsma might be just that.
  22. One of Brian Butch's Bakersfield teammates said on twitter that he (Butch) is getting called up. Didn't know what team. Bucks would have to wait until Darnell Jackson's contract is up, which I think is tomorrow. Don't know if Butch is a good fit...he can score, but I think the Bucks miss Bogut's defense most when he's out. That's probably why we always seem to hang around even when Bogut has an "off" night. Wisconsin ties aside, Greg Stiemsma would be great IMO...he's not a replacement by any means, but he looks like the type of dominant defensive backup center that good teams always have. And...3.6 blocks per game!
  23. Stuff like this happens when passwords get transmitted in clear text. Don't log in to the website over http, always use https. Also avoid logging in over open wireless networks. This can be especially tricky now that lots of phones and such can connect to wireless networks automatically, and on top of that, have built-in facebook support. Anything you transmit over http is clear text that anybody along the way can see. Email is all clear text. IMs are often clear text. To be safest, assume everything you type on the internet is transmitted in clear text, unless you know for sure that it is encrypted.
  24. This is the Deputy GM we're talking about, so yeah, kinda. If he didn't feel that way, I suspect he'd either give us an honest answer or not say anything at all. If Braun gives a clear answer to a question, I absolutely believe what he says.
