  1. I was telling you guys months ago that Krynzel was far superior to Pods defensively. The kid has a gun, as well. Hopefully, he will get a chance to show it to you before the season is done. Actually, I was equally impressed with him after the game. Bob Brainerd asked him a question like should this be what we can expect from now on. Dave, understanding that one game does not a career make, basically side-stepped the question and focused on the win.
  2. I agree Joe, the only thing to "play" for now is the draft pick. I would assume the law of averages will be catching up with us soon. If we "need" to win a game, I hope they get it before the Astros come to town. The Brewers must continue their anti-Cubs in playoffs conspiracy.
  3. I have to admit to being surprised they were allowed to go down the slide at all...not to mention intoxicated.
  4. Went last night, have tickets for tomorrow. If one and one does in fact equal two, it will happen tonight!http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/grin.gif
  5. Hoffy, you are to be commended for exherting so much energy into a perpetually losing team. I care, but not to the level of throwing f-bombs at work. You are a considerably better fan than me and I mean that with all heart-felt sincerity. I fell off the "caring to that level" bandwagon some time ago. Vgmaster, please fill me in on the turd references. I didn't get dibs on the TV until around 8pm and decided to watch football.
  6. Actually, Robert, for the sake of damaging Cubs playoff hopes, I would have gladly seen our boys fall victim to him.
  7. And, in spite of all of that Dhonks, no playoff spot. Why? The loss of Eveland via promotion and Pena and Montablo to injury couldn't be overcome by those left and called up. We couldn't get consistent innings out of anyone other than Villaneuva. We also had a complete meltdown in fundamentals down the stretch. Too many errors leading to too many unearned runs and further straining a depleted staff.
  8. for once again not having the foresight to use(beyond a stinkin' pinch hit appearance) a rookie(Krynzel) in a game when the outcome was pretty much not in doubt from early on for the second day in a row. Moron!
  9. Have to agree with you hawing. I took the kids and a friend of their choice to the game. We did the subs/soda tailgate thing and then got in early enough to chat with Dave K. before the game and take advantage of the kids corner. Was disappointed Dave didn't play(good gracious is there a reason we couldn't have acclimated him to the field as a late inning defensive replacement with Sheets dealing and a four to six run lead). But, if you could "bottle" a day for baseball, it was yesterday. Like you said, I don't doubt the guys could hear us from the fourth level. It was like a weekday Snapper game in a larger stadium.
  10. Not sure if you are being sarcastic or not, but it is such a minor issue it really doesn't matter.
  11. One other thing though, I am assuming that temporary inactive list doesn't necessarily mean letting him go. But I don't know that for certain.
  12. Dhonks, I'm sure I can get some of the local Snapper fans to back me on this. The reason he doesn't commit errors is rather simple... he lacks range. I vividly remember stating earlier in the year that I went to a game where he should have at least gotten a glove on, at bare mininum, one of three balls in the hole and failed to do so. I believe it was madbad that agreed with me at the time.
  13. Put it this way, if he did arrive Sunday, it was after 9pm(when I asked who was pitching the next day). Would I like to think they would have him travel the day before, yeah! Would it be impossible to do so the same day, no. Heck, even in the majors you hear of guys running to the park after being traded(see Paul Loduca). When I asked someone in the bullpen if someone picked him up at the airport, they said he was probably taken by taxi. Did I ask Yo himself? No. But, I had two sources(both pitchers) close to the situation. If it's wrong, so be it. But, how do you supposedly know otherwise, other than making the ASSUMPTION they wouldn't travel the same day? This is all pretty petty stuff, but I'm glad I have you to prove me supposedly wrong on occasion.
  14. Yeah, I wonder what boy genius Matt Harrington is doing these days to compensate for the bonus he turned down. It takes an awful lot of hours at McDonald's to accumulate $4 million.
  15. Brewcru, I think we are talking past each other. As I alluded to in my previous post, I realize Kloosterman was at the center of the incident. But, even if that had NOT happened, I think there is a good chance he might have gotten the call anyway. Their pitching staff was in disarray entering the Monday game. They had gotten too few innings from too many starters over too many recent games. That was the point I was trying to make. You state he was there on Sunday. I have to respectfully disagree. When I went to bed that night, I asked one of the guys on the staff who was pitching tomorrow. He thought it might be Rogers. So, obviously Yo wasn't there yet. Besides, I asked another pitcher on Monday when he got there and he said today.
  16. Agreed colby, that's why I don't see it as an "ugly" fall, but one that was overdue and necessary for the further development of the organization. The singles hitters managed to somehow make things interesting for half a season, but they are now showing their true colors. We still have many holes to fill. The best way for a team with a limited budget to do so is through the draft.....again.
  17. I can't help but wonder if the Gallardo promotion happens without the suspensions. On one side, you had a depleted pitching staff in need of innings from somebody, anybody. On the other hand, Kloosterman was involved in the incident and hadn't pitched in several days. At any rate, Yo did struggle in his Class A debut. However, I think he deserves a mulligan having arrived the same day on short notice. His velocity was good(Peoria had one of those in-scoreboard radar guns which topped him at 93mph), but his location was not. He was consistently behind in the count, only to give in with pitches in the upper half. Peoria is a good hitting team and made him pay for his mistakes. His line was made worse by the fact that all inherited runners were allowed to score after Luis Pena entered the game.
  18. Maybe, Reid saw the HD GM's comments about a winning percentage of .300 and wanted to assure/show him that things could be worse.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/pimp.gif
  19. I was also at the game. I couldn't believe Overbay wasn't sent on that ball to Patterson. Since Counsell hit a line shot, Patterson didn't get the opportunity to set and throw like you would on a lazy fly ball. The throw lost steam as it approached the pitcher's mound. It would have taken a second throw to get him out. Highly doubtful. As a third base coach, you have to take the on-deck hitter into consideration. That alone should have prompted Donnelly to send him. My seats were on the 1st base side. Boy, the umpire blew that call on Jenkins coming back to the bag. I thought he was out by a good step. Can someone tell me if the 3-2 pitch to Sosa with the bases loaded was a ball? From my vantage point, it looked to be at high and outside. That was the turning point of the game.
  20. Don't disagree at all Dhonks, but he certainly isn't suited for the three spot. Unfortunately, given the current state of affairs with the Indians, he may very well win by default.
  21. Does this mean Krynzel will be spelled from the 3rd spot in the lineup?
  22. I guess this somewhat eliminates/answers some of the questions I had on the Eveland to AA thread. However, I'm still not sure I agree promoting him to a team 3 games back with 22 to go from a team tied for the last playoff spot. Plus, the Snappers only have to be one of the top TWO teams this half, while the Stars are first or home for the winter.
  23. I got to give the guy credit, he sure knows how to make friends. I didn't read any of the aforementioned posts, but know that the people on page four alone deserve a little more courtesy than that. I would ask those rightfully offended by his statement to just consider the source and move on. Now, you will have to excuse me while this "minor league fan" tries to figure the difference between a hit and an error(Al told me I can't differentiate).
  24. If Clark hit .400 for the rest of the year, you would still have people telling you Grieve is inexplicably better. I don't get it either pal, but on this site Grieve is second only to our Creator.
  25. They have now scored 14 runs in six games since the All Star break, or 2.33 runs per game. Will you guys please at least concede the playoffs at this time? I would imagine most teams only playing four games since the break have eclipsed that total. As I said before(to rebuttal), they are a compilation of singles hitters and it is starting to bite them in the a$$.
