  1. I sure hope Weeks starts,i cancelled my plans for tonight so i can watch the game.
  2. Yet another well pitched game wasted away Tiring to watch
  3. I watched Sleepers a few days ago Decent movie starring Jason Patrick,Brad Pitt,Kevin Bacon, and Dustin Hoffman. It's about four young kids who do something stupid and get sent to a boys home for a year.Kevin Bacon and other guards at the home abuse the fours kids in a horrible fashion. About 13 years later after the kids are grown and free, two of then run into Kevin Bacon and as you can guess, they let him know that the time in the boys home wasn't forgotton. The courtroom part of the movie i didnt find all that believable and it's a long DVD,about 2 1/2 hours. Was worth watching though,i never was to the point where i was thinking man they are really dragging out this flick.I'd give it 3 stars on a 5 star scale.
  4. If you make Braun an outfielder down the line, that further distances him from Maybin. To be fair though, from what i've read there are questions about how Maybin will handle more advanced pitching.I'm not sold on Braun either, but their have been alot of highly thought of high school outfielders with long swings that never were able to handle better pitching. Uggg,i just hope Jack Z was right. It could be awhile before we draft this high again ad this was a very important pick.Top 5 draft picks have a much better chance of being a cornerstone type of player than later first rounders..
  5. Toby Do you think the Brewers took Braun more on need or they truely thought he was the best available player? I dont know Jack Z at all,but he doesnt strike me as the type to risk such a high pick on a guy he didnt really really like just to fill a need.
  6. Hammond must be considered projectable because his stats aren't very impressive.
  7. Cano swung at alot of balls that at bat
  8. OK, who wants Wise to finish this off, as opposed to bringing in the walk machine? If Yost brings in Turnbow,i'd have Santana warming up in the pen.First sign Turnbow doesnt have command,he'd get the hook.
  9. When a sports team is struggling, message boards fulls of people ripping the manager/coach is about as suprising as Rosie O'Donnell going for seconds at a buffet.
  10. If he slid to our pick? From what i've read it seems like he could be ready for the bigs fairly soon.Would we take a college SS that high even though Hardy is up pretty much for good it looks like?
  11. I'll admit to being a real novice with the MLB draft, but one thing i really dont get is the questions of which guy will hit better with wood. I'll read reports of college hitters and scous or people here say so and so might really struggle switch to wood bats. Then another college hitter is said to be better prepared for the switch. What is this based on? Since very few college hitters use wood bats, what makes a scout or evaluator think one player will make the switch fine and another player won't even if both used aluminum all the time?
  12. Can someone tell me why Braun is projected to move from thirdbase to the outfield? If the guy was a good enough infielder to play SS for two years in college, how is his defense not good enough to stay at third?
  13. You wonder if Jenkins watches the game while he's in the on deck circle or if he's just lost in his own world. He stepped to the plate like Gagne had been throwing heaters right down the middle to the previous hitters. Then again that at bat wasn't anything uncommon, first pitch hacking at crap is what Jenkins is famous for.
  14. That was sad After two walks in a row Jenkins hacks at three straight balls, two in the dirt.
  15. Wow Chad with an RBI,just when you think you've seen it all,Chad pulls the ultra stunner.
  16. Sheets looking good Hopefully we can score at least 3-4 runs so Ben doesnt have to stress if he isnt perfect a loss will follow. Side note, give up the rant Schroeder about the RBI,who friggin cares.
  17. It's obvious that Yost really likes Santana. He's pretty much only used now in important spots in games and if Turnbow continues to struggle,i'd bet Santana gets the closer job.
  18. Maybin just seems the obvious pick if someody doesnt slip. That's who i'd put my money on if the top four go as expected.
  19. I honestly dont remember ever seeing a pitch like that Hammonds changeup. The pitch almost looked like he shotput it to the mound and managed to make it float around like a knuckleball caught in a windgust.
  20. Hammond's changeup is cray slooooooow That thing looks slower than the the Doug Jones changeup and it floats around like a wiffle ball.
  21. Indeed. I agree with you that he doesn't look so hot in the dugout, either... he looks like he's on the verge of a nervous breakdown. All managers get that same look when they know their team is the Titanic just waiting to finish sinking. It's really gotta suck managing a team that is just a lost cause and it's not even June.Even worse to be managing a team coming off the NLCS and now they sit at 16-32. Garner can make one move after another, but nothing he does will help that feable offense and he has to know that.
  22. Is Anderson going to be used as a relief pitcher or a starter?
  23. The real crappy thing is a start like this is such a bummer after waiting so long for the season to start.Sucks the life out of the season 15 games in.
  24. Gotta love the save stat.If i'm not mistaken,Lidge got a save for that outing.
