  1. That's big for me. I really hope that Counsell gives Perez everyday at bats at 3rd to see how he does with consistent playing time. This is the time to see what a guy like him can do when given more than random playing time.
  2. I get what you are trying to say, but i can't recall more than a few times where i had sex with a girl and before it happened, i first asked her if it was ok to have sex and then she replied with a yes. It simply happened with both me and the girls knowing it was fine to happen because they at no point protested and instead were clearly into it. Can i really be alone in this or do most guys always ask a girl before having sex, is this ok to happen?
  3. Had Braun simply accepted his initial punishment or did the typical bogus statement saying that he didn't know why he failed his drug test vs throwing the guy under the bus who collected his urine sample, i doubt that he'd still be held in such contempt. It was that terrible decision to try accusing the urine collector of framing Braun that has lead to him being more hated than the other guys also busted for PED's. He'll never recover from going down that road.
  4. They should be getting two new players shooting the three this year: Jabari and Giannis. If they don't, nothing else really matters. I highly doubt that Jabari and Giannis will be ready to be consistent jump and three point shooters by next season, but i'll be happy if they simply show some progress in that area. Clearly shooting is a need for this team, but it's not just about next season. The Bucks aren't good enough yet to be spending lottery picks on a need. To me, all that matters is that Maker eventually develops into a quality player. Plus, the best shooters were gone before we picked. The Bucks are still in a building mode. Any Brewers fan should know better that in a time like that, the main key is trying to acquire higher end talent at any position and then hopefully in 2-3 years when Jabari and Giannis are hitting their primes, proper role fitting talents can surround them to where the Bucks are chasing a top 3 seed in the East, not a 7th or 8th seed.
  5. Maybe it's just pure luck, but over all my many years driving, i've only gotten only two slightly noticeable dings and i park wherever the hell i feel like at that moment in a given parking lot. I never knew that so many people have this problem.
  6. So we should be giving them to guys like Nieuwenhuis and Presley instead? Older guys that are struggling as well? I agree with you (they've all been pretty bad but at least Kirk and Alex have had stretches where they weren't terrible) but Keon has no clue what's going on at the plate right now. Guerra and Davies have had better AB's the last two nights than he has. We already know that Nieuwenhuis is a 5th OF type, so what exactly is the harm in letting Broxton getting a few hundred consistent at bats vs big league pitching? If he can't improve over that time, then at least we'll have a better idea that he just can't handle it vs only giving him random at bats against lefty starters. I'd rather watch him hit under .200 over a few hundred at bat during the rest of the season than see Nieuwenhuis play mostly instead given it's already clear that he's a spare part player with no upside.
  7. Matz gets shuffled to the bullpen come postseason. So Great you get maybe 8 IP from him? And the next year, and the year after that. Harvey is fine, his last 3 starts 20IP-8! Hits allowed-2ERs-3BBs-17Ks .90ERA What's the most important? Met's squeeking in to the Playoffs having Matz and lose in 1game playoff 1-0 or 2-1? Or Met's winning the Division and having an offense that is better to support the trio of Degrom, Harvey, and Syndergaard? Matz doesn't fit in to the Playoff equation. It's only June. The Mets first have to make the playoffs and if they do, you don't know for sure that he wouldn't start games at all. There easily could be an injury or he simply pitches to well not to put him out there. Beyond that, you are acting like Lucroy will be the only bat available at the deadline who the Mets could go after. There will be others and it won't cost them one of the best few young starters in the game.
  8. No way in hell would the Mets even consider trading Matz for Lucroy. Young lefties with his kind of stuff and under team control until 2022 don't get traded for a 30 year old catcher with only a year and a half of team control unless their GM is a complete idiot. They can look to find a bat at the deadline which wouldn't include trading one of the best young pitchers in the game.
  9. I don't worry as much about teams being unwilling to trade valuable prospects at the deadline. My bigger concern regarding trading Lucroy is that i just don't see a number of different teams who would want/need a really good catcher bad enough to bid against each other for Luc's services. Come the deadline there are almost always a number of teams looking for pitching, be it a starter or reliever. That's a given. Catcher though is a very specific position and thus in a given year, finding a match with a team who really needs one and is willing to pay a steep price for that guy can be a lot trickier.
  10. Yep RoCo, that was it. Big sod throwing mayhem during Soundgarden and i remember Ice Cube doing a song with the Chili Peppers. For me though, the highlight was Ministry. Can't remember a louder band live and the way the crowd just exploded as Just One Fix opened the show. Man that was one of the best overall concert experiences of my life. To be about 20 again and going to shows like that. Can't beat Alpine Valley IMO for a concert experience on a nice summer night. Speaking of Alpine Valley, also right around the early 90's i went to see Guns and Roses there even though i wasn't a big fan of their music, but i girl i was trying to get some booty from asked me to go with her and her friends. It started down pouring rain and the hill turned into a slopping mess, but Guns and Roses played right through the rain. Ended up having a far better time than i expected.
  11. Was hoping for a big year from Santana where he got 500 at bats and clearly showed that he'd be a major building block going forward.
  12. I don't blame Machado for fighting. If someone fired a rock at me the size of a baseball, i'd go after that person also.
  13. Because of money Ventura was suspended for 9 games and thus he loses 9 games of pay. If say they wanted him to miss three starts, the suspension would need to be 15 games and i'd have given him at least that much. Really hurt these pitchers who behave like Ventura and it will mostly stop. A 15-20 game suspension hurts them both in terms of missed games for their team and financially. They'll think twice before drilling hitters.
  14. Such a great song and such a great line! It's the middle of the night and you just inspired me to listen to that song. Many years ago when Pearl Jam was still really new, i went to a music festival at Alpine Valley and they played early, around 3-4 o'clock or so. Well the group of friends i was with along with myself chose to party longer in the parking lot instead of going in early enough to see Pearl Jam. Never ended up seeing them live. Still bugs me a little bit to this day. That said, Ministry played later that night and it was one of the best live shows i ever seem. That place absolutely erupted when they took the stage to Just One Fix.
  15. If Steans could get something decent for Scooter, i'd love to see Villar as the everyday secondbaseman next year if Arcia is at shortstop. Villar is an ideal leadoff hitter and doesn't come with the left/right hitting splits issues that Scooter does.
  16. Make it 20 games and then maybe pitchers stop doing this.
  17. Stealing bases is also about instincts and being able to read the moves of pitchers. Guys tend to be safe or thrown out by a fraction of a second, so if a baserunner doesn't consistently get good jumps, he'll get thrown out even if he's really fast. Have no clue on how Ray stacks up in this regard.
  18. I don't care much at all if a pitcher or position player is selected so long as that guy becomes a really good MLB player. It's busts or guys who only become a mediocre MLB player who were picked top 5 that are killers for a franchise like the Brewers.
  19. We need to also keep in mind that the Brewers have played a pretty weak schedule so far and that is going to start changing.
  20. Yea, he's a real tough guy. Fire a pitch at a hitter like a douchebag when he knows that he'll never have to step in the batters box himself and face retaliation, but instead it would be his teammates who have to step in that box wondering if they'll be the one to get hit because their pitcher has paper thin skin. No surprise that his own teammates are tired of his act.
  21. Doesn't need to be that complicated. Simply give hefty suspensions to pitchers who as a league you deem intentionally hit batters, not in small suspensions which normally are handed out. If i was running baseball, i'd give Ventura 20 games to let it be known that i will no longer tolerate intentionally throwing at hitters. Baseball has changed rules for safety reasons on running into catchers and at second base because they believe the defenders at those places are to defenseless. Well, who in the game is more defenseless than a batter when a pitcher decides to fire a 90 plus MPH fastball at him and the injury risk which comes along with that? The league IMO isn't being truly serious about player safety so long as they keep handing out minor suspensions to pitchers who for lame reasons feel they can intentionally throw baseballs at batters. Hand out serious suspensions to guys like Ventura and this nonsense will happen far less often.
  22. You are so incredibly wrong on this and it has zero to do with Machado being a star. He did absolutely nothing wrong during that game to warrant Ventura nailing him with a high 90's fastball other that Ventura being a douchebag. That pitch easily could have injured Machado had it hit him somewhere else and that would not only hurt him, it would significantly hurt Baltimore who is sitting in first place. Pick up a baseball, it's basically a well made rock and for no legit reason whatsoever Ventura threw it at Machado in the high 90"s. Ventura not only deserves a really hefty suspension for that punk move, he deserved a major butt kicking, not just one punch. Baseball claims it's trying to make the game safer for players, well now is a chance to prove it. Suspend Ventura for at least 20 games to let him and other pitchers know that the league will no longer tolerate this kind of cowardly and dangerous action of pitchers intentionally throwing a rock hard ball at batters, especially when there was zero justification for it besides Ventura being a hothead punk.
  23. Sure you can. Suspend Ventura at least 20-30 games. I have no issue with Machado charging the mound. It was Ventura who started everything by intentionally hitting Machado with a high 90's fastball for no reason. That ball could have hurt Machado and damaged the Orioles playoff chances, simply because Ventura was behaving like a douchebag and thus he deserves a hefty suspension, not some small suspension which doesn't deter him and other punk pitchers from doing it again.
