  1. Ask again in two weeks.
  2. That picture is going to be my background until either the Brewers clinch the playoffs or until Yost gets fired.
  3. I'm more worried about the Brewers winning in the first round than I am about the Cubs winning in the first round...
  4. Do the Cubs know how to lose anymore?
  5. I'd rather trade Fielder than Hardy. Gamel could step in a play first with Branyan holding down the spot until he arrives. Hardy is too much of a unique talent.
  6. I think we are overreacting a bit. Sabathia was a guy that pitched 241 innings last year. There are very few pitchers out there that Ned would be able to do this with. Sabathia is one of those guys. It hasn't affected him yet so there is no reason to get all worked up over it yet. On the other hand, I think that Sheets may suffer a bit from overuse, and I think especially with his susceptibility to injury, Yost would be smart to be careful with him. Sabathia's a freak of nature. He's probably one of five pitchers in the league that has the ability to do what he does every time out.
  7. Suppan isn't fit for the type of Stadium that Chavez-Revine is. Especially during the day. I really hope Yost has him on a short-leash and goes to McClung while the Brewers are still in it if he has to.
  8. I saw Gagne, Rivera, Braun, and Hall for sure. I'm not sure about anyone else though.
  9. Yeah, I too am expecting one this series. Just as long as we don't get swept!Scratch that: Series win or bust!
  10. The best scenario for me in that last series would be both the Brewers and Cubs have clinched a playoff spot, but they have to duke it out for the division. I'd feel much better either way then.
  11. I had pretty high hopes and was somewhat expecting a very good shot at the World Series after getting Sabathia, but the Cubs' series (particularly the first game) kind of shifted my view. I think it's very hard for a team that can't pull off a game like the first game to win in the playoffs. A World Series team pulls off that double play no easily. Unfortunately, we did not, and I was down pretty far in the dumps after that game. I'll be happy with the playoffs. I'll be disappointed if we don't at least get to the NLCS, and I will be the happiest man alive if we make the World Series. Sorry if that was a bit of a rant, it's just my outlook of the team at this point.
  12. I'm rooting for the Brewers to take at least two out of three, that way we gain on at least one of them. I don't care what they do, althought I'd prefer the Cardinals to beat the hated Cubs.
  13. 1. Braun-Signed a very cheap (will be sooner than later) 8-year deal to stay in Milwaukee of all cities. He's got the swagger and ticks of Cubs fans too. 2. Hardy-Love watching him hit when he is on. In the field makes everything look easy. 3. Torres-His passion for the game is pretty sweet. Love watching him do the slap-shake with Kendall after a save. 4. C.C.-Seems like he is an all-around decent guy. Oh and he's beastly on the mound. 5. Ed Sedar-Don't ask. Inside joke with some friends. Kapler, Hart, and Kendall all are honorable mentions. Kapler would take Sedar's spot if it was favorite "players," but you said "Brewers".
  14. I'm going to be honest even though Cameron and Hart may be better players, I'd much prefer Kapler's approach at the plate right now with all of these free-swinging HR hitters.
  15. @ Atlanta 2-1 @ Cincinnati 1-2 Washington 3-1 @ San Diego 1-2 @ LA 1-2 Houston 2-1 Pittsburgh 3-0 @ St. Louis 1-1 @ Pittsburgh 2-1 16-11...I hope that's the worst they'll be. It may need to be better than that.
  16. At least I don't have to watch the game tomorrow afternoon. For once I am thankful for work.
  17. Maybe if Branyan got more than a once/twice a week spot start he'd be hitting home runs and getting on base again. I really hope 5-9 gets more than a couple of singles tonight.
  18. After last night's poor start against a team he regularly pitches very well against, I am beginning to wonder if the acquisition of C.C. Sabathia has had a poor effect on Sheets. Since July 8, 2008, he has given up 3, 4, 3, and 6 runs consecutively and has only made it through the seventh inning once (something he did in over half of his starts leading up to this date). Am I looking too much into this? I just hope he isn't injured and is just holding out on the Brewers due to various factors (free agent year, playoff race, etc.). I just hope that he can regain form for the last two months so that he and Sabathia can be the devestating 1-2 punch we were hoping for when we acquired Sabathia.
  19. I don't care if Kendall doesn't get a hit the rest of the season, I'll take him ANY day behind the plate. Rivera isn't half of what Kendall is when he's back there, even if he is a good hitter. Sometimes I wish Yost would use Rivera as a pinch hitter, but I suppose that'd be somewhat tough since we don't have another catcher on the roster.
  20. In a recent In-Game thread some guys were talking about the Brewers' record when they attend games (whether at home or away). I thought it'd be interesting to weed out the good luck charms from the bad luck jinxes by posting your personal record when attending games. My personal record this season is 4-3. I don't remember recent seasons, but maybe someday if I am bored I'll update this post and add it in. I've lost two straight (as a result of today's game), but I don't think I've ever finished a season with a record under .500 (knock on wood). Opening Day: Brewers 4, Cubs 3 WP: Gagne LP: Howry S: Riske June 20: Brewers 5, Orioles 8 WP: Cormier LP: Suppan S: Sherrill June 22: Brewers 7, Orioles, 3 WP: Parra LP: Olson S: Torres July 4: Brewers 9, Pirates 1 WP: Sheets LP: Gorzelanny July 8: Brewers 7, Rockies 3 WP: Sabathia LP: Redman July 11: Brewers 5, Reds 6 WP: Lincoln LP: Shouse S: Cordero July 27: Brewers 5, Astros 11 WP: Sampson LP: Suppan Sheduled Games Remaining: September 27: vs Chicago Cubs
  21. I'm a bit worried that they brought him out for the seventh. Let's hope he can at least get Pence, but I'll be very suprised if he makes it through the inning. EDIT: Just as I say that, I fear I'm right. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
