  1. Hellweg, Martin and Roenicke to the DL. Diaz, Dillard and Leroux off the roster. They aren't on the Helena roster like the others who have been dropped.
  2. Marzec and LaTorre to the "DL".
  3. It looks like they dropped Rizzo, Hudgens and Mejia from the roster.
  4. It seems like every member of the bullpen has been a closer at some point.
  5. I'm sure we'll see an epidemic of third-string catcheritis throughout the organization.
  6. I was surprised to read Melvin state that Schafer has a .270 average as a PH in his 4 years. I had to look it up and he is right. So Schafer's problem hasn't been PH, it's that he's stunk when he has started. That makes me feel a bit better about him on the bench.
  7. I could see each and every one of those guys play for the Brewers this year. I think I read that the average team uses 14-15 relievers in the course of a season. So seeing each of these guys isn't out of the question. Yes, especially considering that these relievers will likely get called up when a starter goes down in Milwaukee, since starters 6 and 7 are likely in the Milwaukee bullpen right now.
  8. He wasn't going to get a shot here (And no place to start in the minors), so nice that the Brewers give him a chance at a fresh start.
  9. I hope they keep Herrera. They don't need a 5th OF with Parra and they already have enough crappy bats off the bench. Herrera at least has proven that he can be a pretty good pinch hitter.
  10. Yeah, what ever happened to Brian? Is that why the website is dead? I've always wondered if posters disappeared or if they just changed names.
  11. All of the articles I've read lately say Thornburg will be in the bullpen. That makes it hard for Perez to make the team. Is Kintzler a lock? His numbers haven't been very good in spring training.
  12. I'm reading "Brewers Essential" By Tom Haudricourt right now. Interesting read. He says Selig had an agreement with the Sox owners to move them to Milwaukee, but the AL teams blocked it because they didn't want to lose Chicago.
  13. For comparison, here is the top 20 using a weighted average of 13 top prospect lists that I could find online (that were updated for this year): 1 Tyrone Taylor 2 Orlando Arcia 3 Devin Williams 4 Monte Harrison 5 Clint Coulter 6 Kodi Medeiros 7 Gilbert Lara 8 Jorge Lopez 9 Tyler Wagner 10 Taylor Jungmann 11 Taylor Williams 12 Victor Roache 13 Jake Gatewood 14 Wei-Chung Wang 15 Corey Knebel 16 Hunter Morris 17 David Goforth 18 Miguel Diaz 19 Kyle Wren 20 Jason Rogers
  14. And an honorable mention for Rivera.
  15. Lohse has $7 million deferred over 3 years. And they are paying $5 million to Weeks and Gallardo in buyouts.
  16. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-league-stew/cubs-confirm-bleachers-won-t-be-ready-by-opening-day-203145353.html The Wrigley Field bleachers won't be ready until May. Interesting that they looked at moving home games to Miller Park, but decided to play with 4500 fewer seats instead.
  17. How do they come up with the 2018 lineup? Segura at 3B and Gallardo still with the team (and #1 SP)? No and No.
  18. I'd love to see "The Hank Aaron Experience" or "The Robin Yount Experience" or even a Brewers experience using this technology. Bud Selig? Not so much. And a "year-round attraction"? Doubtful.
  19. 38 plus 3 on the 60 day DL to be added back.
  20. What timing with the Seitzer picture. I'll always remember seeing him getting hit in the face with a pitch.
  21. I could see Fiers and Nelson piggybacking. Nelson will likely have to skip a start or two to keep his innings from getting too high. No one else really has that concern. One wildcard is Peralta's chase of 20 wins. He has 7 starts left, but could start on the last day of the season, if they pitch him every 5 days and skip someone with the days off in September. I could see them giving him that extra start if he has a chance at 20 wins. The other wild card is whether the last games of the season are fighting for the division, or resting up and lining up starters for the playoffs.
  22. At least we have time to get Garza and Lohse healthy. Between now and Sept 1st, we only need a 5th starter on the 26th.
  23. Brewers have only had three 15 game winners in the past 20 years: Capuano 18 (2005) Gallardo 17 (2011) & 16 (2012) Greinke 16 (2011)
