  1. From JSOnline http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/172404981.html
  2. That's been my feeling too. He's thrown 50 more innings this year, than he ever has. He's never been a starter for a full season, so this is all new to him. I just hope that with a 40% jump in innings, he doesn't end up breaking down next year. I hope the Brewers don't end up regretting not shutting him down a couple weeks ago.
  3. Fiers has over a K per inning. Marcum is a bit under. The one question is Peralta. he had almost a K/inning in the minors, but the K's haven't been there yet in Milwaukee. Of course, it's hard to get K's when you can't find the strike zone.
  4. One thing that jumped out at me is the larger number of 2 and 4 game series. And days off seem to be spread out pretty evenly.
  5. Rogers almost has to end up in the bullpen at some point next year. He only threw 134 innings this year and that was a career high. I don't see how he can start for a full season, unless he's the #5 and they skip him whenever possible.
  6. If you're cheap like me, it's pretty easy to make your own HD Antenna. It's not the most attractive thing, so I have it in the rafters of my garage. Built one for myself and my parents. You need to make sure it's aimed properly, but once I had it aimed, I never have to move it. I only have trouble with Channel 12 in Milwaukee, the rest are fine. Here is something similar to what I built, but without the rear reflectors. http://www.tvantennaplans.com/
  7. Haudricourt tweeted that Gamel is taking fly balls in RF during early workouts.
  8. The rankings didn't change a whole lot from the preseason, they just added the new guys and subtacted a few. Seems like it's not based much on this year's performance.
  9. Interesting that Hellweg was picked, since I thought they were trying to limit his innings. I'd imagine Thornburg will get enough innings in Milwaukee in September.
  10. http://www.jsonline.com/sports/brewers/roenicke-ponders-rotation-496i8lm-166843676.html From yesterday's JS: Looks like the September rotation could be very interesting. Possibly Gallardo and Marcum every 5 days, then mixing and matching the other 3 spots. You've got Rogers, Fiers, and Estrada who need their innings limited, but Thornburg and Peralta may need to get more innings in.
  11. Does Helena have any backup infielder now? 4 IF, 6 OF, and 4 C?
  12. I'm curious to see how many innings they let Rogers throw this year. His career high was 116, 2 years ago. That's the only time he's thrown over 100 innings. He's at 101 now. Certainly looks like Peralta and Thornburg should be getting plently of starts in September.
  13. Roenicke is quoted in today's paper as saying that he really wants Hart to be the permanent 1B next year, but it's up the Melvin. Sounds like Gamel better start working out in the OF when he gets healthy.
  14. If he throws 140 big league innings, thats on top of 55 minor league innings. He's never started for a full year and has never pitched more than 126 innings in a season. I don't think it's a good idea to throw 70 more innings, even if he is older.
  15. I don't see how Fiers will get enough innings to be considered, unless the Brewers aren't concerned with him increasing his innings by 60+ over last year. He's almost matched his innings from last year already.
  16. Come on, get the lead back. I want to see Henderson get his first big league save.
  17. I'm not sure if Fiers will be starting in September. He only threw 126 innings last year and 125 the year before. He's at 114 2/3 now. I would think they'd probably limit him to 160 innings. So he's got another 7 or 8 starts. Do you skip him a few times and keep him starting or shift him to the pen in September?
  18. So Maldonado catches Wolf and Fiers, it would seem.
  19. Pretty soon, the entire Nashville roster will be former Brewers. I count 16, including the DL.
  20. At what point do you start to worry about his innings? He's at 114 2/3 now. He only pitched 128 innings last year and 125 the year before. So he can go maybe 160 this year? He'll hit that in another 7-8 starts. Do you just keep him starting and then shut him down in September and use Peralta, Thornburg, Rogers, etc then? Or do you try and skip him a few times?
  21. Don Henley at Summerfest around 1990. Great concert. Played for over 3 hours.
  22. What is the saying about rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic? I'm for trying K-Rod at closer, but as people are saying, the whole bullpen stinks. Last year, there were 5 guys with ERAs under 3. Now K-Rod is the only one under 4 and just barely.
  23. I had the same thought as well.
  24. Wait, are there three Williams on the Wisconsin roster now?
