I think people will doubt Estrada until he proves himself as a starter for a full season. He's never thrown more than 152 innings in a season. Can he stay healthy and effective as a full season starter?
Fiers was optioned and then got hurt while in the minors. I don't think I've ever seen a minor league guy placed on the 60 day DL. You'd have to pay him a big league salary and he'd be earning service time.
The payroll is already over $90 million for next year, are they really going to push it close to $100 million?. And Hart hasn't made less than $5 million since 2010. Is he really going to take a 50% paycut to stay?
At least Nelson has shown the ability to throw strikes. The last two years, he started off with low walk numbers, but then struggled a bit when he was promoted.
Davis is open to a switch to 1B now. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20130827&content_id=58630310¬ebook_id=58630812&vkey=notebook_mil&c_id=mil

You've also got Hand and Wooten (Also Prince, Burgos and Fiers) from the 2007-2009 drafts. Throw in trades that included LaPorta, Lawrie, Odorizzi and Komatsu and those are three pretty productive drafts.
With Hand going back down on Friday, does that mean he still doesn't use an option because it will be less than 10 days until Sept 1st? Also Halton and Gindl are swapping places Friday because it's been 10 days for Gindl. http://www.jsonline.com/sports/brewers/sean-halton-donovan-hand-have-brief-stays-with-brewers-b9980804z1-220599161.html
That was his first assault while in NY. He was fined and suspended by NY. The second one happened in Milwaukee against his fiance. They both fled the country so nothing ever came of it. This was last Sept, so the Brewers signed him this year, knowing all this. I know it's hard to keep all of his assaults straight. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20121101&content_id=40144320&vkey=news_mlb&c_id=mlb
That's not entirely true. Lucroy caught him 2 games in April and then 5 straight from 5/27-6/16. [pre]C G GS CG SHO IP H R ER HR BB K W L Sv ERA WHIP BB/9 K/9 K/BB Luc 7 7 0 0 39 45 28 24 4 18 20 1 3 0 5.54 1.62 4.2 4.6 1.11 Mald 13 13 1 1 74.33 79 43 34 7 27 52 6 6 0 4.12 1.43 3.3 6.3 1.93[/pre]
Burgos was optioned and left his latest start early with more soreness. Figaro also had a setback. Estrada still has to go on a rehab assignment. So not real clear about the 4 & 5 starters after the break.
