  1. Is there anything better than cuffing Zambrano around? Of course not.
  2. One of, if not the best game I've ever been to! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif
  3. How did we get Jose Capellan again? I know that it was from the Braves, but refresh my memory....who did we give up? Kolb trade.
  4. El Ca-bye-bye! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif
  5. Interesting note: if the Brewers win today, it will be the first game this season in which they were never behind. Let's hope that happens.
  6. Gotta love technology....a decade ago, there wouldn't be that thin layer of netting in front of the dugout, and that ball would have gone out of play. Still, great to see Miller exactly where he was supposed to be on the play.
  7. Manufactured runs = http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif
  8. 2 on, no outs, down 2-1. Miller up, followed by the pitcher's spot. Who (other than me) has Damian putting down the bunt? [Edit: apparently, that's what Ned would do too. Gamecast = too slow.]
  9. Someone's gotta say it. JJ Hardy is currently on pace to hit 162 Home Runs this season.
  10. Just curious what the dividing line is between "beaten like a dead horse" and "additional evidence." This is less a question about the linked thread above, so much as the current thread in the ML Forum about Branyan not making the 25-man roster in TB. Because the first thread requested it, I kept my comments kind. As someone who believes that Branyan has been overvalued (both as a Sabermetric anomaly and as a player), his inability to make one of the worst teams in baseball over the past few seasons reinforces my views on him. Obviously, I didn't read the posts in the thread that had been deleted....but if people can't respectfully post their negative views on a player in a thread someone else created about a transaction involving the player negatively, where can they talk about it? It hardly seems appropriate fodder for the political forum. Am I alone in thinking that the people who don't want to read the negative things about Branyan should probably just skip the thread about him being sent down by the D-Rays? As long as the posters don't say anything that violate the decorum of the forum, or call out specific posters, I really don't see why they should be taken down. Take an inside joke too far....and you reap what you sow, IMO.
  11. Congrats to Jamie...I guess we now have a new person to congratulate whenever Powell, Sutton, or Schroeder give the site a plug. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  12. Happy Fifth Anniversary Brewerfan.net! Here's to another five!! Here's to hoping for more than 5 additional years! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  13. His numbers are in the hall. He shouldn't be.
  14. Thanks for the help! (Now I just have to post this to see if it worked...)
  15. Having seen another thread about the topic, I've been meaning to ask this question for a while now. I signed up for ezSupporter back in July, but I still don't see the 'ezSupporter' tag on my posts under the 'reply | edit' buttons. I'm not sure if this is just because it's my account, and the system knows that I know that I'm an ezSupporter, or if it's not registering for some reason. Just want to make sure that my money is going towards its intended purpose.
  16. ...so why do so many people put FA discussion there? I realize this is just a pet peeve of mine, and no one else seems to care. I just wanted to speak my peace on the subject and get it over with.
  17. Having skimmed the thread, I'll just say that the decision on whether or not to sacrifice bunt is largely predicated on the type of team you have, and the situation. If you have a dominant pitching staff, such that you can expect to win by scratching across 3-4 runs in a game, you're bound to manage your team differently than one would the Boston Red Sox or Cincinnati Reds. Specifically, a pitching-dominant roster should look to maximize opportunities to score at least one run. Examples: 2nd / 0 outs 1st and 2nd / 0 outs In at least these situations, the trade-off between scoring multiple runs and scoring the one run at least become debate-worthy. Admittedly, I'm not advocating having the # 3 - 5 guys in the lineup (or #8 in the NL) putting down a bunt, but that's because you expect those players to be more likely than average to get a hit (or in the case of the # 8, more likely than the player hitting behind). them). I can see why, if you're a straight-sabermetric, bunting doesn't have much value for non-pitchers. On the other hand, not every team is (nor should be) tailored around pure sabermetrics.
  18. Second row seats down the first base line, and I couldn't get a hat, wristband, batting glove....nothing. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif Still, though, it was nice to be there just to watch Adam Dunn rack up the Golden Sombrero. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif
  19. I'm not taping two different shows (at the same time -- stupid TV executives!) so I can watch the Brewers lose tonight. Let's make with the run-scoring!
  20. What was it Odenkirk used to say in those Miller Lite ads.... Burgleflickel! (Think that about sums it up. Get the lead back!)
  21. Just turned the gamecast on; I don't like the lineup we've got out there today. I know it's a day game after a night game, but if ever there's a time not to rest so many of your key guys, it's when you have a pitcher who still has an outside shot at 20 wins taking the mound. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif
  22. Just because I'm confused on this one....why is the Torri Hunter trade block thread locked on the trade rumors forum, but open on the major league forum? It is, after all, a trade rumor. I realize that the ML forum thread started first, and has more replies in it, but from a practical perspective, it makes more sense to lock that thread than it would have to lock the TR thread, and move all the posts in the ML thread to the TR forum (where they should be). Not really a big deal -- I didn't post in either of them -- just a decision I can't really seem to wrap the ol' noggin around.
  23. I thought that was what the "venting thread" was for. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  24. Why does apple? always get censored? So that it is impossible to launch a java-based app inside the message board. (aka, an 'apple?.') ....or something like that, IIRC.
  25. I went Tuesday....they lost. I went Thursday....they lost. I went Saturday....they lost. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif I'm sure that, since I'm not going tomorrow, they'll put up 10 in the first inning.
