  1. This offense is painful to watch today. Smoltz and Hudson after this. Ugh!
  2. San Diego - Third baseman Ryan Braun, summoned from Class AAA Nashville late Thursday night, is in the Brewers' lineup tonight for their game at San Diego. Here is the Brewers' lineup: 2B Rickie Weeks 3B Ryan Braun SS J.J. Hardy 1B Prince Fielder LF Geoff Jenkins CF Bill Hall C Damian Miller RF Gabe Gross RHP Dave Bush http://www.jsonline.com/watch/?watch=2&date=5/25/2007&id=24071
  3. I doubt Ned does, but with the way Jenkins hits Maddux...I say move that guy up. 2B Weeks SS Hardy 1B Fielder LF Jenkins C Estrada 3B Braun CF Hall RF TGJ or Gross... P Bush or you could play Miller, who has very good splits against Maddux and go... 2B Weeks RF Gywnn SS Hardy 1B Fielder LF Jenkins 3B Braun CF Hall C Miller P Bush
  4. Fun Fact: San Diego is German for a whale's vagina
  5. So this has been a bad two weeks and we still have a 6.5 game lead. Just think if he'd played well over this span. We'd be up 12 games on the division. On the bright side...at least no one got hot when we got cold.
  6. Agreed about Yo. I think Cappy will throw on Monday? That'll be his 5th day since we have Thurs off. And the Sheets replacement will go on Tuesday...not sure if thats Yo or Villy.
  7. So with an off day on Thursday and Sheets possibly missing a start we dont need a 5th starter until Tuesday. So looking at the probables...next Tuesday it should be Villy vs. John Smoltz.
  8. A little fire from a team that has been asleep at the wheel the last couple days. Good to see some form of life. This is Prince Fielder's team.
  9. So I guess Villy needs to get stretched out a bit since Sheets might miss 5-10 days? By my calculation, we'll need Thur: Off Fri: Bush Sat: Vargas Sun: Soup Mon: Cappy Tues: CV Weds: Bush on and so forth...if Sheets is going to miss a start put him on the DL retro to today and call-up Braun. Lets see what he can do...go with 1 less pitcher???
  10. Cappy has bounced back decently after that horrible first. Dude looks ticked. If Graffy doesn't treat that grounder by Pierre as if it was hit by Matt LeCroy...we might only be down a run or 2. Its like these guys are suffering from never ending jet lag effects or something. We gotta do something about Graffy at 3B. If Melvin and Gordon are still tepid about Braun's glove or wrist than give me Vinnie. I'd rather have a Rottino/Counsell split...plus Vinnie gives us a RH pinch hitter and can catch in a pinch if needed
  11. Ah ha! Thanks AJ. My fault there. I guess it was a tad too late in the night for my brain to actually be working
  12. Braun Time? "Besides Gallardo?s quality start, the Brewers? brass got to see top offensive prospect Ryan Braun put on a show as well. Braun, who was in the leadoff spot for the first time in his career, homered, doubled and drove in two runs for the Sounds. It was his first home run since May 2, after he missed 12 games earlier this month because of a wrist injury. Braun leads the team with nine home runs." http://www.nashvillecitypaper.com/index.cfm?section_id=7&screen=news&news_id=56315
  13. Looking at the splits vs. Penny, I highly doubt TGJ has 55 ABs against Brad Penny? Me thinks thats his HOF Pops. Does TG Junior even have 55 career ABs yet? Interesting things to watch here... Will Hall be back in the 7 hole? Can Cappy rediscover the inside half of the plate and get his change over?
  14. My guess is that with a righty back in there on Wednesday. Hall will likely be back at #7 and TGJ will bat 2nd and play RF? Basically the same line-up as Monday. Or I guess Yost could throw Gross in RF. But even if he does that I bet he still bats Gross 2nd
  15. Sheets was solid. Estrada dropping that foul pop hurt. All Sheets did wrong were his 2 mistakes thrown to Russell Martin. There is a reason their back-up catcher only has 25 ABs thru 45 games.
  16. Broxton is straight filth. I'd rather try my hand with the closer than that guy. I'm not sure Spurling sucks. We gotta do something about Graffy and Dessens though. You think the Royals would give us some bats and balls if we package them together. Seem like some dead wait.
  17. Geoff Jenkins is throwing a gem for the Dodgers. 3 runs likely wins this one..at this rate. Is Estrada awake? I hope I'm wrong about this.
  18. How does one define an Ace? Everytime Ben Sheets takes the mound. I feel like we're going to win the game. No matter who the opposing pitcher is that night. Be it Jake Peavy, Randy Johnson, Roy Oswalt, Pedro Martinez, John Smoltz or whoever..I like my chances with Sheets. Just as the fans of those listed above feel the same way.
  19. Agreed. The Dodgers series is 3 night games followed by an off day on Thursday. I doubt we see Miller until either Saturday Night or Sunday Day. He'll likely only get 1 start on this road trip.
  20. Victory!!! Thats a nice way to start the west coast swing. Now let's show em' what our Ace can do! Though I imagine they remember his opening day gem vividly. Sheets had two very solid starts on the road last week. Here's to keeping it up!
  21. Starting feel like Philly last Monday. Come on bullpen
  22. First, I'm gonna join in with the others on the board here tonight who have praised Vin Scully. He's amazing. Just a wealth of knowledge. This guy must read every article written on every player on the opposing team's roster prior to each game. He must spend hours of Lexis Nexis or Factiva? Impressive! I'm gonna give a couple shout outs. Just some good baseball being played by the Crew tonight. Top moments that stick out: Counsell getting on to lead-off the 3rd was big. Pokes a 1-2 pitch up the middle. Soup SAC bunts and then Weeks drives him in. Exactly what you need from a #8 hitter leading off an inning. Just get on. In the 6th, 1 on with 1 out. 0-2 count on Jenkins and he ends up working a walk. If he strikes out there it changes the whole complexion of the inning. And thank the lord for that because it would likely be a 3-3 or 4-3 game now instead of 8-3? Soup seems a little off after that long Top of the 6th. Hopefully, he settles..finds his groove again and gives Ned at least 7. He's at 86 pitches after 6.
  23. Let me also give a shout-out to Villy. One word for his performance today...HUGE.
  24. YES! Do the CoCo Dance! How about that Jenkins guy! http://static.flickr.com/51/118310426_8b096b55e1_o.jpge!
