  1. Scottie Po must be having one of those violent coughing spells I was reading about on the Brewers mlb site
  2. we got any line-ups for who exactly is going to be doing the sweeping today?
  3. Here are the line-ups. Scottie Po gets a day off against the tough lefty. I guess Ned likes Halls glove over Ginter's at 3rd? Why else DH Keith and not Billy? Milwaukee B. Clark cf .243 J. Spivey 2b .284 G. Jenkins lf .258 L. Overbay 1b .341 B. Hall 3b .260 K. Ginter dh .261 B. Grieve rf .265 G. Bennett c. 208 C. Counsell ss .256 Minnesota C. Guzman ss .267 D. Mientkiewicz 1b .244 L. Ford lf .312 C. Koskie 3b .246 T. Hunter cf .273 J. Jones rf .258 M. LeCroy dh .282 J. Mauer c .268 L. Rivas 2b .285
  4. "Fiver"mueller in the Homerdome. This could get ugly quick. Looks like we'll get to see Matt "Un-tap the Keg" LeCroy DHing. On the positive side, Santana can't pitch any better than he did on Sunday. Can he?
  5. Just got back and turned on the computer to see we've wasted another outstanding Sheets effort. 10Ks. The box score says the 2 runs are unearned. That sucks even more. After excellent series against Anaheim, Houston, Seattle and Minnesota, we finish up lame against the lowly Rockies. Kinda limping into the Homerdome for the weekend, ah?
  6. An 8-4 homestand just sounds and looks so much better than 7-5. Come on Sheetsie, Git-R-Done!! SBS
  7. The Rockies come to town in much better health than just a week ago. Preston Wilson rejoined the team on Friday and Larry Walker is expected to make his return to the line-up on Tuesday. We'll also see former Brewers Jeromy Burnitz, Royce Clayton, and Mark Sweeney. This team still has a very tough of the order with proven veterans like Todd Helton, Preston Wilson, Vinny Castilla, Burnitz, and Larry Walker. A mistake to any of those 5 can easily come back and haunt a pitcher.
  8. Tonight Brewers Ace Ben Sheets takes on surprisingly solid Twins starter Carlos "Better than Gold" Silva. Silva has proven to be a reliable rotation guy after 2 years in the Phillies bullpen. So if you're in the area head to Miller Park. Nice crowds expected and some nice promotions. Who has the better old logo? http://www.wyoung.net/pictures/twinspatch.jpg vs. http://www.angelfire.com/blues/new_yorker/images/pin.gif
  9. Hey Brian. Did you know that clicking on the Store link via the Fan Forum Menu bar takes you to a Cafe Express page linking to a New York Strippers site? Since that has nothing to do with Brewer baseball, I figured you'd probably want to change that ASAP. Unless of course Brewerfan.net is going to start dabbling in the Bachelor or Bachlorette Party planning business in the NYC area? Just a heads up! SBS
  10. Someday we'll figure out how to sweep! Anyway, why do I have a Meatlof song in my head? 2 Out Of 3 Aint Bad "Now dont be sad Cause 2 out of 3 aint bad Now dont be sad Cause 2 out of 3 aint bad" Friday is a Sheets start. Those are always fun, because we can go into the game with confidence!
  11. Seems like in recent years past in the last game of a series we always were trying to avoid being ------, but now it seems like more times then not we are actually the team trying to do the -------. Shhh. I keep checking NL Central scores. It's been a long time since I've done that. Are we having fun yet?
  12. The Karma Police should really be after Anaheim. What's up with this? "Brewers pitcher Doug Davis will return to Milwaukee today in order to be rested for his start against Houston Friday night at Miller Park. The Angels' refusal to play a day game today means that the Brewers' plane won't arrive in Milwaukee until after 7 a.m. Friday." Anyway. The fact that this team with a win tonight would come home with a winning road trip (5-4) is mind boggling, especially when you consider the recent offensive woes.
  13. Any guesses as to who Neddy will put in the DH spot tonight against Ecobar. I'm guessing lefty, so I'll go with Liefer. Heck while I'm at it I'll try and guess the entire line-up. And this is only a guess. Pods-Counsell-Jenks Overbay-Grieve-Ginter Spivey-Liefer-Moeller SBS.
  14. "FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! GO OFFENSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Well said RoCo From a motion picture you all know....names have been changed to protect the innocent.... A loud boom is heard in the Brewers locker room. Burba: Jesus Christ, Ginter! Ginter: Have to wake up Bats! Smoke rises from Ginter's locker, thus setting off the Edison Field Visting Clubhouse indoor sprinkler system. I wasn't sure who to cast in the roles of Cerrano and Harris? So since Ginter is leading the team in HRs, I made him Pedro and since Dave Burba is crafty and a veteran of this staff, he got to be Eddie Harris.
  15. Not too look too far ahead, but I've cleared the schedule and plan to be in front of the TV for Ben's next start on Sunday against Clemens. Man I wish I lived a bit closer to Milwaukee so I could witness that battle in person. I hope Clemens is 9-0 coming in and Sheets outduels him 1-0 or 2-1. Should be a fun one to watch.
  16. I actually thought Ned was going to give Durrington the start at 3rd. Just had a hunch and I was wrong. I do like the line-up. Now let's have an offensive outburts..when is the last time we've scored 3 runs in an inning? Heck even 2?
  17. 5 lefties in a row and then boom 4 righties. Very Interesting line-up! Why are good hitting catchers hard to find. I can only really think of two we've had...Ted Simmons and Dave Nilsson. Sheets third attempt at getting us +3. 3rd time is the charm.
  18. hey flithy....since Benson was scheduled to go on 3 days rest Sunday my guess is that we'll see Fogg and Wells. As for the Brewers rotation I suppose Yost will throw Sheets and Davis this weekend. Off day Monday and then we throw Santos, Cappie and Sheets at the Dodgers. With Davis, Obie, and Santos going against SD. So Obie is probably available out of the pen this weekend thru Tuesday of next week With the long flight for San Juan and the late arrival this is kind of a good thing maybe? Heck with Pitt playing a DH and us coming back from PR. Imagine both clubs were like rain-out...that's cool
  19. I've always loved to watch Sheets pitch, but I must admit there is even something more special about it this year. Note of interest...Because of a rain-out Tuesday, the Pirates and Kris Benson were pushed back a day and forced to play a doubleheader on Wednesday. So Benson will be going on 3 days rest. Hopefully that proves to be a good thing for us. Maybe he'll only be able to go 5 or 6, he threw a hellava gem a few weeks back in Milwaukee against Sheets. SBS
  20. Danny Kolb save this beast and Mike Adams get his first professional win! Come on Now
  21. agreed. His month of May has been a little rocky.
  22. Yeah. I thought I could tell even in Uecker's talk with Yost before last night's game that he didn't really want to have to call up Hendrickson. So I guess today we'll see a combination of Wise, Kinney, Adams. Hopefully that will get us through 5 to 6 innings?
  23. If memory serves correct, Ohka has thrown some gems against us in the past. Given that our line-up has changed a lot in the past year, hopefully that won't be the case today. Anyway. Go Crew!
  24. Looks like a rainy night in San Juan. I imagine they'll be forced to play 2 on Thursday if tonight's game is called. That kinda stinks having to play a doubleheader and the fly 4-5 hours to Pittsburgh for a game on Friday night.
