  2. Hey all. I'm back from a brief excursion and as a audio subscriber would be happy to do a running box within a single post... According to the JS, "Sheets is scheduled to throw one inning or 25 pitches and will be followed to the mound by Wes Obermueller, Brooks Kieschnick, Andy Pratt, Jeff Housman and Rigo Beltran."
  3. Thanks all. Hope you guys enjoyed the running box. For those of you who weren't able to follow this thread during the game. Go back to Page 2 to find my running box score of the Brewers 12-8 victory over Oakland. Just like the previous 2 years, I hope to it this throughout most of the spring. I'll be out of town the next couple of days though. But my running box will return next week. Go Crew!
  4. BC Kid Macgruder is in left. He just miss played it off a bounce and let it get by him

  8. Hey all. For those of you that I haven't been around the past 2 years or so, I' usually do a running box score of several (most) spring training games. I subscribe to MLB's Gameday Radio, so I'm planning to do it for todays SS game at Oakland. Let me know if anyone has a problem with that. I keep all the game updates within one posts and update the running box after every half-inning. Planned pitchers for the Oaklnad game....Hendrickson, De Le Rosa, Wise, Diggins, Narron and maybe Sarfarte " other players to play at Oakland..."Carlos Lee will make his unofficial debut in the road game at Phoenix Municipal Stadium, where he can serve as the designated hitter. Yost is easing Lee into game action because he was one of the last position players to arrive in camp. Wes Helms, Bill Hall, Junior Spivey, Brady Clark and Chad Moeller." The running box will take place within this thread...so around 3:10 or so...start checking for my updates....that way folks who can't listen at work/home just be able to follow along and those listening to Brewers/M's game will still be able to stay on top of the action in the other game... 9. Pretty much the same way as Po "This guy named al and several others got pissed off at useless posting on the espn board, so this guy called phearinc decided to start his own brewers website...i registered at it because all the good conversation joined hands and left the espn boards....about 3 years ago.. "
  10. Durrington. Now's thats your proto-typical #2 hitter! Boy-oh-Boy. Might need Cappy to drive in some runs tonight!
  11. I'm not giving up on the season, yet. I guess anytime your #2 pitcher gives up a Homerun to "Corky" Romano, you start thinking irrationally for a few. We miss Morris and Carpenter in the Lou, so you gotta be happy about that! Edit: Whoa! That pitch Hall swung at missed by like 2 feet.
  12. Brewers only score in 1 inning and we lose on a homer to a kid hitting like .122. This is enough to drive any fan crazy. Well I guess Claussen did deserve the win and we're giving him that. This road trip could and might be getting ugly fast. I'm sad
  13. I remember when Scotty Po use to hit with runners in scoring postition. Oh 2003, the Year of Po!
  14. Brady Clark with his best Ben Grieve impersanation!
  15. Wow. Ned is going with a real right focused line-up. Jenkins gets a day off, moving Clark into the #3 hole Milwaukee S. Podsednik cf .254 C. Magruder lf .333 B. Clark rf .267 L. 16. For anyone interested in some info on today's Reds starter. Here is what the Official Reds Game Notes has to say about the Claussen kid. While With Louisville: When his promotion was announced he led the International League in strikeouts (111), was tied for the IL lead in walks allowed (47) and ranked T4th in victories (8)...led the Bats? pitching staff in wins, walks and strikeouts...in his last 7 starts for the Bats went 5-2, 2.68...in his last 3 starts went 2-1, 1.45...produced season highs of 7.0ip (6/14 vs Scranton/Wilkes-Barre) and 12 strikeouts (7/7 vs Ottawa)...in the 10-5 victory on 6/14 vs Scranton/Wilkes-Barre didn?t allow a hit...left that start after 7.0 innings because of pitch count restrictions. Grapefruit League Action: During spring training for the Reds went 0-2, 5.79 in 3 starts and 2 relief apps (14ip, 20h, 5bb, 14k)...in his 3 exhibition starts went 0-2, 5.40 (10ip, 15h, 3bb, 10k)...was optioned to Louisville on 3/28. Last Pitched: For Louisville on Thu vs Syracuse, started and suffered the 3-1 loss (6ip, 6h, 3er, 1bb, 8k). Last Pitched In The Major Leagues: Made his only other Major League appearance on 6/28 of last season, for the Yankees started and earned the 9-8 victory against the Mets at Shea Stadium (6.1ip, 8h, 2r, 1er, 1bb, 4k, 1hr)...was the nightcap of an unusual day/night, Yankee Stadium/Shea Stadium doubleheader....took a shutout into the sixth inning before the Mets produced an unearned run...in the seventh allowed a solo HR to Roger Cedeno, his final batter...at the plate went 1-for-4 with an RBI-single off Dan Wheeler.
  17. Yeah. There was a little blurb about who'd catch Lil Ben on the Brewers MLB page..."Yost said he would wait until Monday to determine if Chad Moeller or Gary Bennett would handle catching duties. Bennett handled Hendrickson in his earlier start and also caught Obermueller's games, but he is batting .177 in 40 games including his current 0-for-13 slump." Also, it'll be nice to see each team have the opportunity to showcase their top Triple A starters in this series. Milwaukee with Hendrickson tonight and Cincy with LHP Brandon Claussen on Tuesday afternoon. I'm interested to see how both pitch.
  18. I'd love to see Chad catch Lil Ben, also. Not only for the reasons mentioned above, but also because Bennett's bat has no business in a line-up 40% of the time. Although, I know Moeller isn't much of an upgrade, he is a tad better. But remember we have a day game on Tuesday with Doug Davis pitching. Moeller always catches Doug, so I'd be surprised if Yost gives Moeller a night game start followed by a day game. Maybe this time Gary will know what he's catching and just how lethal the Hendrickson curveball is. But given that Ned said yesterday that he hadn't decided who'll catch Hendrickson may be a sign that Moeller would get the assignment?
  19. A note for Mr. Hendrickson... Dear Lil Ben, Welcome back! Please don't forget the simple things I'm sure you know. For example, change speeds (you're good at that) it keeps even big leaguers off-balance, don't try and be too fine with your pitches that's what hurt the guy you're replacing. Just trust your stuff. It's gotten you here. May the minor leagues only be a fading memory in your mind from this day forwrad. Go get em'! You've earned it! http://milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com/images/2004/06/03/En9QcatO.jpg
  20. With the way Clement was throwing, I wasn't feeling too good either. But Santos settled down, limited the damage and put an end to the run scoring. The Crew "scrapped" together some runs and earned a hard fought victory. Nice team effort ps> were those runs unearned on Santos
  21. Thats ok Batman. Just figured you were pumped after the come from behind victory! Sheets vs. Maddux should be fun!
  22. Santos would get the win. He was the last guy on the mound before we took the lead. Adams came in with the lead. He gets another hold.
  23. Some props to Victor. If he keeps pitching like that in the day, might have to remove that Sleepy/Vampire nickname. Besides a mistake to Clement on a 2-2 count, Santos was extremely solid today and rightfuly in line for a win today.
