  1. Not sure we'll get 2 runs off Clement today. He looks pretty tough. Sheeter will have to be the stopper again on Saturday. Bad defense will kill a team, especially one without an offense like ours. We saw that last night and now with Hall's error. SBS
  2. The gray clouds may have the sleepy vampire's mental clock telling his body its night. good job getting out a jam, especially the K of Patterson
  3. Did Helms spike himself? You never want anyone to get injured. We have any clues?
  4. Just like last week Steve Stone is giving Santos no respect. He just called him below average and expects the Cubs to score first time through. Man, Chip and Stone are such homers. I guess thats fine since they';re Cubs broadcasters, but the guy is 8-3 in the Major Leagues so throw him at least a little bone, Stoney.
  5. Here are today's line-ups. If our 6-9 guys produce more than 3 hits and a RBI, I maydo back-flips! Milwaukee S. Podsednik cf .256 C. Counsell ss .256 G. Jenkins lf .249 L. Overbay 1b .339 K. Ginter 2b .259 B. Clark rf .251 W. Helms 3b .261 G. Bennett c .182 V. Santos p .056 Chi Cubs J. Macias 3b .284 M. Grudzielanek 2b .270 C. Patterson cf .280 S. Sosa rf .274 M. Alou lf .275 D. Lee 1b .306 M. Barrett c .295 R. Martinez ss .257 M. Clement p .088
  6. Hey Batman! I think I may understand the reasoning behind this question of yours..."Why couldn't Santos have started yesterday and Davis today? Does Nedley not realize the dramatic difference between sunshine Victor and darkness Victor? If not, that's pretty lame. If he does, and he chose to start him today anyway, why?" If the Vampire had started yesterday, he would be throwing on just three days rest since he started the last game before the break (Mon, Tues and Weds). So by going today he gets the regular 4. In fact, he's the only Brewer who did not get any extended time in between starts. Guess it just works out that way. SBS
  7. Someone is due for a sweeping. According to the Cubs press release, "The Cubs need a win today to avoid being swept in a 3-or-4-game series for the first time this year... the Cubs have not been swept in a 3-or-4-game set since September 24-26, 2002, when Cincinnati won all 3 games of the clubs? series."

  9. Cubs fans vs. The Buckethead Brigade This should be a fun and very loud atmosphere!
  10. Is anyone else worried that we are going to Pittsburgh after sweeping our last opponent? www.jsonline.com/sports/brew/jun01/brew62501.asp I'd be worried if Allen Levrault was starting Game 1. Davey Lopes was the Brewers manager and Jerry Royster the Bench Coach. Although, we've had our troubles in the past at PNC. This is a different team and I have faith. Oliver Perez does scare me. But we managed to get some solid production against him in May. Just keep Jason Kendall and Jack Wilson off the bases.
  11. Ha. Thanks ja. Gotta wear those demons down before you can exorcise them.
  12. I love it! I'm ready for the 4:05 CST doubleheader (for bernie) to get started now. Actually, my nerves could probably use a drink or break after that 8th inning and Danny shutting them down with the tying run on 3rd. Time to exercise the demons of PNC. We were losers of nine straight at Coors before the sweep! Let's get it done in the Iron City. Davis and Perez should be a good match-up in Game 1. Plus, we'll get to see the hot hitting Chad Moeller. Any announcement on who's throwing in Game 2. Guess Ned and Maddux will make the call on the flight. Probably a Wise/Kinney combo. I guess they could throw Obermueller in Game 2? We'll see!! "The thing for us is, don't think about tomorrow," Jenkins said. "Don't try to face Mark Prior today." Make sure the young ones are listening to you Captain Jenkins. Thank God you had the smarts not to wear a Sweep Suit in 2001 and piss off the baseball gods!!!
  13. KOLB!!!!! Time to Leave Denver as soon as possible. I hate that place and oh yeah http://www.dobhran.com/images2/housecleaning-broom.gif Time to get on a jet plane to Pittburgh. Two of the hottest teams in baseball gotta Doubleheader to play!!!
  14. Wow! Talk about emotion ups and downs. This one is painful. Coors field rears its ugly head again. I guess considering how good its been. Bullpen was due for a major hiccup like this soon enough. Anyway. I can't watch anymore. I'll check the score later
  15. I enjoy having a winning team in Milwaukee, but can we one day win one without having to sweat it out.
  16. Good point End. Ned probably is going to go with a Wise/Kinney duo in Game 2. So get Kiesch up? Haven't seen him in awhile either. Santos is at 71 pitches. I imagine he could still gives us 2 more if need be.
  17. Get Kinney up? Haven't seen him in awhile
  18. This game is moving like pond water! Hopefully, we'll get out of Denver before 9PM CST. Actually, its not horrible, 4 and 1/2 innings in 1 hour and 40 minutes. I guess it just feels like it moving slower than it really is.
  19. Grieve tried to dribble that ball after he dropped it. Grieve looks like he could be a decent forward.
  20. I'll give Victor some credit. Like Sheets, he's basically having to do this without his curve. That thing was nasty in Minnesota last week. I got no problem going after Helton with no one on and an 8-1 lead.
  21. It looked like a deep fly to center, but the ball kept carrying and bounced off Preston Wilson's glove. 3-base error. 2 runs score. No RBIs for Jenks.
  22. Nice Santos. Minimize the damage!
  23. This could be a Coors game. Watching via MLB.TV, it looks like Victor is making mistakes up!
  24. Both Sheets and Santos have some solid breaking stuff but neither seemed to work in Coors, however Capuano's slider looked to be on there on Tuesday. That's such a weird place. Flyball outs seem dangerous and Victor is getting some deep flyball outs today.
