  1. Class A Lakeland, in the Florida State League, is where the Tigers hold their Spring Training.
  2. CD-Rs won't last for as long as you would want them to in this example. Five or so years down the road, you will run in to read errors on the discs and you will lose your pictures. You could do both I suppose, but I would recommend at least going with the online option if you were to choose one or the other.
  3. That's great and all, but it still puts you in the minority. If your voice is to be truly heard, a seriously compelling argument needs to be laid out. Possibly even via a study. Hey, someone just had an idea about that, who was that again?
  4. I'd heard of that as well. That said, I don't believe Griffey was involved with PEDs. What do I have to base that on? My miles-from-ground-zero intuition. He always had that sweet stroke, even as a skinny teenager playing alongside his pops in Seattle. Props to you Junior.
  5. I'd love to if I didn't have so much crap going on right now with my job and moving into a new place. I'll put it on my list. Thing is, you seem to sport the contrarian angle to the argument, and then you put the onus on others to prove you wrong. It doesn't really work that way.
  6. Double-dose of the y'alls right here: http://forum.brewerfan.net/search.php?keywords=365982/t/Thanks-Will-Joe-Steve-Following-Inman-and-Garrison-in-2008.html http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  7. Haha, at least it was after "thing" (durr, typo). You strike me as the DIY type, Brian. For instance, the Brewers fans needed an internet presence a few years back. Presto! DIY Brewersfandemonium. Maybe in some areas and not in others... I'll let this slide just this once, I guess.
  8. If you had stats to back up this argument, it might carry a little more weight. As I see it, our pitchers currently have 8 RBIs on the year. Parra has 3, Sheets (yes, Sheets) has 2, CV has 2 and Suppan has 1. I don't have access to stats that show how much the opposing pitchers are driving in, but I would be willing to bet that it is not far from what the Brewers have done to the other side. I wouldn't be surprised in the least if the Brewers pitchers actually have more RBIs than the opposing pitchers.
  9. Let's get serious here. He broke the news that Yost was getting fired. Albeit secondhand, through a blog, but he posted it in a place where it would get read by many. How did that end up? I don't care if he breaks the news that LaPorta is coming up two weeks before he actually does. He lost any and all credibility in my opinion when he made that blog post newsworthy.
  10. Matt LaPorta - possibly in response to those who feel he is not living up to expectations in another thread here - has now gone deep for the second time in the game. I, for one, applaud our new Outfield Overlord.
  11. Notice how I said SOME stock. I didn't say a lot. Please read carefully. How much is some? Enough to rely on him playing nearly everyday?
  12. I'd almost thing about going DIY in this scenario. If you put a small piece of sheet metal in the HVAC system right in front of the vents in-line that come before your vent, you may be able to divert some AC goodness to your end of line vent. The key would be to make sure that you aren't diverting too much air. Just a small piece of sheet metal would do. This may be too much effort for some people, others may look at it as a nice little project.
  13. Lake Delton to the DL - Curt Flood recalled from retirement.
  14. Nah, it's other things that make you a nerd. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  15. Let's not forget that not every pitcher pitching in Spring Training was Major League quality. All you have to do to figure that out is to remember that yes, Hernan was getting at bats. Hernan was not quite a MLB-level player at that point. He was facing pitchers in somewhat the same situation as himself. On top of that, http://logo.cafepress.com/8/1971856.5157478.jpg
  16. Apparently my sister in Greendale has a foot and a half of water in her basement at the moment. Not a happy camper. I don't blame her. That said, I have to work outside the next few days, and this is what I have to look forward to: http://img512.imageshack.us/img512/8533/hothothotvw4.jpg Maybe the dry heat will soak up all of my sweat.
  17. I've always been a fan of Picasa, a google project. I just checked and yes, there is a way to order prints through this service. As far as storage, you get 1GB of free storage. Here's a link: http://picasa.google.com/intl/en_US/web/learn_more_picasa.html
  18. You can't flaunt 10 years worth of experience as if you have done what TH has done for that amount of time when in reality you may have been covering whether Rusty McBeagle lived up to his billing as top high school pitcher in a Dubuque suburb. That's akin to me saying I know what it takes to manage the Google network farm, when in reality I have been dealing with miniscule networks in comparison. I have no idea what it takes to handle a network that size. I can play around in my sandbox, but wouldn't know whether to poop or go blind if I ended up in the Sahara. I didn't intend to condescend, but if you took it that way, that's your view. Worse things happen. And for what it's worth, you set yourself up for it.
  19. I usually find that if something I can't change is really getting on my nerves and I have the option to avoid it, that's what I do. You can't change what the TV channel is airing, but you can change the channel.
  20. I'm just wondering how 10 years of experience covering high school athletics gives you any idea about the intricacies of covering MLB.
  21. Held accountable for a throwaway comment on a message board? Let's remember what we are doing here and keep it in perspective. We aren't writing articles for Pulitzer nomination here. We are fans discussing baseball amongst fans. How would someone who made a comment such as the one in question be held accountable anyway? Take away their posting privilege? Seriously...
