  1. All I was saying is that the only way to judge a team is by record. The record is what it is, it doesn't predict the future. All it says it that the Cubs are currently the best team in the NL. To say they aren't because of something that might happen in the future is foolhardy.
  2. While Gamel is a little taller and would have a few more inches of reach, LaPorta is the clear answer here. LaPorta has played 1B in the past, even some this year. He also is listed as a 1B for this year's Futures Game.
  3. How does MLB award playoff appearances again? Wasn't it by won-loss record? Oh yeah, that's right.
  4. If that's the angle you are going with, okay. That would mean that Kobe isn't American either, yet somehow he is going to play for the US in the Olympics.
  5. Dirk isn't American. You even said foreign.
  6. If radio is included in this discussion, Ron Santo makes Mark Grace look like Bill Shakespeare.
  7. Next thing you know he'll turn down millions because he needs to feed his family.
  8. 2 more throwing errors for Gamel so far tonight, now up to 21 errors on the season...
  9. Are the computers both in the same workgroup? Control Panel->System->Computer Name tab
  10. First things first, let's make sure the computers can ping each other across the network. To do this, we need to know the IP addresses of both computers. If you already know them, you can skip this step. If not, try the following on one of the two computers, doesn't matter which: Start by going to the command prompt (Start->Run, type cmd, hit enter). At the prompt, type ipconfig and hit enter. What you are looking for is the IP address here. Write it down. Then go to the other computer and do the same thing. Now that we have both of the IP addresses, we will check to see if the computers can communicate on a low level. Still at the command prompt, type: ping [iP address of other PC] and hit enter. It will end up being something like: ping 192.168.1.100. If you get replies, good. We can move on to the next step. If it says that the request timed out, we need to diagnose a little more.
  11. That's like saying you have a million dollars so you won't need another $100K. More always helps.
  12. Make it XM and you have yourself a deal.
  13. Listening to the Braves broadcast team on MLB.tv is like bizarro world. Anywhere from them saying that the Brewers are sound at textbook fundamentals to saying that they have no veteran players on the bench in case an infielder goes down to injury... I wonder if they are thinking about the same Brewers team that I am.
  14. That's right...a friend of mine here in Vegas just got a job at a nuclear facility in North Carolina after getting her degree in Nuclear Engineering. Gotta be the same place, right?
  15. No hot chicks in the office.
  16. I think a bullpen session would be a better bullpen session for him. He would be likely to try to throw the ball through the backstop if he were to pitch in the All Star Game again. As lucky as the Crew has been with his health this year, if I were them I'd rather not push my luck.
  17. This thread is making me fatter just by reading it.
  18. 1. Don't be lazy. 2. Refer to #1.
  19. Smells like some nasty sour grapes.
  20. Same here - let's get that title worked out before a few BF.netters have heart attacks.
  21. This is just unfair...Sheets is a god in baggy pants. Filthy.
  22. In addition to the above, the Phillies lead the division and are loaded with talent. They could go on a serious tear at any time.
  23. Complete and utter! Bases-loaded, no outs, and two lefty killers due up against a glorified set-up man. I shut my eyes, KNOWING we were going to win. Right??? RIGHT????? Brewers lost one to Baltimore. No sweep.
  24. And to think that just over a week ago he had a show here in town and I was thinking about going...too late now.
  25. Also, your 3rd base situation has two leftys. Not sure if you were insinuating a platoon situation, but if you were, that wouldn't work.
