  1. Let's not forget that pitchers are relied on also when looking at the thrown out %. If everyone gets a huge jump and is halfway to 2nd base before the pitcher releases the ball, that will hurt Salome's chances to throw the runner out.
  2. After recently watching a youtube video of one of his gigs, I was again in awe of how well he spoke and delivered his material on stage. He was always thought-provoking and interesting. RIP George Carlin, you will be missed by many.
  3. The fact that this team hasn't met fan expectations in the past 20+ years better not have any effect on current management. The only thing they can change is the present and beyond. The past is gone. Turn the page. {/Bob Segar} Would you rather have one flame-out run at the playoffs than a constant year-in-year-out run for the World Series? Let's look at the big picture here.
  4. It's berth. But anyway, if you would be willing to deal two of the better prospects in all of minor league baseball for one single playoff run, I would hope that you would one day become the GM of the Cubs, Cards, Astros, Reds, or Pirates. Because that is extremely short-sighted of you. Having those two bats in addition to what the Brewers currently have would make this lineup nearly '27 Yankees worthy. History could be made with that lineup. And you'd be willing to give that up for one single playoff berth. I've got some nice land in Florida if you are looking to buy...
  5. Very interesting! Do you have a newsletter I could subscribe to?
  6. Ehh, could've gone by yourself...that's what I did when I hit up Joe Davis. Oh well.
  7. Just sayin...the MLS expanding elsewhere would be like minor league baseball expanding to other countries. There are much better football (soccer) leagues in other countries.
  8. That and the masks are always custom-molded to the face that is going to wear it.
  9. fixed ^^
  10. Care to expand? What is your reasoning for not wanting to see MLB teams in Asia? I would like to see expansion as was mentioned in the article's first proposal - teams from separate continents would not meet until the playoffs or the World Series at the earliest. That would really make the travel issue a much smaller one. As far as once the playoffs and/or World Series start is another matter. I would propose a two day layoff allowing for travel between continents. That would give them a full day for travel and a full recovery day.
  11. I like how they mention the Milwaukee Brewers. I thought that was neat.
  12. It definitely has nothing to do with the fact that there are runners on base when he hits. Couldn't be. But then again I never played so don't ask me.
  13. Ehh, that's not wide enough to scroll. Viva La Resolution!
  14. I figured they were referring to the fact that they held a reunion 25 years after they almost won a World Series. It was a little dig, nothing big. Don't sweat the small stuff.
  15. I'm pretty sure that any trade of Prince would net proven major league pitching talent in addition to minor leaguers.
  16. Sometimes you really can't take balls at face value. You can't always trust your balls.
  17. I see way more Wisconsin license plates in Vegas than I should. Something tells me there is a little fraud going on. Makes sense, car insurance here aint the cheapest.
  18. #11 - Ryan Dempster said so.
  19. Silverlight
  20. Rain would be nice. It's almost 9:30 here and it is still 100 degrees outside. We're not even to the height of summer yet! That said, I still think I picked the right year to move away from Wisconsin, what with the record snowfalls and floods and all. I wouldn't change a thing.
  21. Semantics. People talking about what they see as a flaw and wanting it to not be a flaw is complaining in my opinion. Anywho, this is a nice set of numbers you put together Jaybird, thanks for doing the legwork. It's pretty interesting to think about.
  22. Are you trying to tell me that it is not hot? http://www.petaimg.com/uploads/1213918285.png
