  1. Pregame chat with Braun and RRR: I'm not feeling very well today, rest me for a couple innings and then I'll come in and hit a pinch hit HR to take the lead.
  2. I remember watching a video of Lawrie taking BP just after the Brewers drafted him, and just remember the sound of the crack of the bat. Incredible 'thwack'. No matter what kind of person he is off the field and in the clubhouse, I can really see him doing well at the major league level.
  3. Either way, Votto is an MVP caliber player. No matter what you do, he can get a hit. A non-move might make more sense than trying to go with a loogy all things considered.
  4. That poor, poor dog.
  5. I've been using it for years, never had any problems with it. It does what I need it to, and more - it can host files on the web for you, just as easily as it stores files sync'd across multiple computers. Drag, drop, done. The uses I have for it don't go beyond the free services, but there are extended storage options if need be. I've read about other online file storage options and I just haven't had a reason or urge to switch. Big fan of Dropbox.
  6. You can't arbitrarily remove games and say they were better than so and so after that. If you are going to do that, you might as well remove the worst starts from all of the pitchers you are comparing, or better yet, go with their actual statistics with nothing removed.
  7. Baseball-reference.com shows total time played at all positions for all players. For clarity it shows Escobar at 17 total innings in the OF last year over 5 games, one started in RF. Compared to the 1151 innings played at SS, he wasted 1.4% of his playing time in the OF.
  8. I've had major problems getting Gameday to even show up in Chrome 10.0.648.204. I have to resort to the worst case 'saw off your leg' scenario of the IE Tab extension, which mimics Internet Explorer but inside Chrome. That works fine every time. But I agree, it is obnoxious in its new form. Maybe it will grow on me. At least they did give the classic option.
  9. I was wondering what happened to Glenn Braggs...
  10. Two opening day starters (Greinke deal doesn't happen without Odorizzi) and another solid ML roster guy, and you're saying it's not a good thing? I'm confused.
  11. I don't think that was the point the scouts were trying to make. I think they were saying that some relievers velocity was lower than it was previously, and at least in Braddock's case, that is true so far this spring. Braddock said in a recent interview that his velocity doesn't get up to speed until very late in spring. Most guys who are used to throwing mid 90s get rocked if they throw their usual stuff at a lower velocity. If that's the case then it would be an issue, but not to the point that this team becomes "awful" imo.
  12. [quote author=HiAndTight wrote: [/b] unless we miss the playoffs by one game.......... Everyone seems to assume that the starts he misses are a guaranteed loss that would have been a guaranteed win had he started them. Would it help if he was there? Of course, that's why the farm was decimated for him. It's not a binary type of situation however.
  13. If/when Cordero leaves, that $12M can still be spent elsewhere if Chapman is in the rotation. The Reds can put anyone back there to close. How many times have the Brewers had albeit fleeting success while sticking unproven guys in the closer role?
  14. And many current Brewers have posted better OPS over a full season in the majors vs their minor league stats.
  15. I would destroy Greinke in World of Warcraft.
  16. Really "Boras works for me" tells us absolutely nothing. Fielder has said anything beyond the typical I like playing in Milwaukee stuff that every player says just before taking a huge contract to play elsewhere. While that is true, I was doing nothing beyond refuting what the previous poster said, which seemed to insinuate that Boras controlled Fielder's future. I wouldn't hold anything against Prince if/when he tests free agency next offseason. It's his right. Would I like it if he stayed in Milwaukee? Yes.
  17. Ugh I knew I shouldn't have started down this slippery slope... Prince has said in the past that Boras works for him, not vice versa. Pretty sure he wants to play first base as well, haven't found a link yet.
  18. I know it's in jest but they both have their 1B of the next few years in uniform.
  19. Otherwise wouldn't you have to assume that Odorizzi, Cain, Escobar and Jef....(err...maybe you've got one there) all had attitude problems as well and the organization wasn't a good fit for them? He was by far our most valuable prospect and we used him to get a #2/3 pitcher. I don't look at it as much more than that. I'm not seeing how you are getting that Lawrie not being a fit = him having an attitude problem. Him not being a fit was more due to the fact that he was blocked at the position(s) he was playing. Whether he did or didn't have an attitude problem was not the reason that Marcum was a better option for the Brewers at the time, just like Greinke and the prospects they gave up for him. The Brewers didn't make these trades on the basis of attitudes. They made them to improve the pitching staff.
  20. Let's hope the new scoreboard is armored with Muscle-proof glass by then.
  21. That's really just making a tough situation worse. You don't fix a tough situation by giving bad hitters more chances to be bad. Let the better hitters in the lineup see more plate attempts.
  22. Obviously the feeling was mutual between the player and the organization, otherwise the trade wouldn't have been made. It just ended up that Marcum was a better fit for Milwaukee and Lawrie was a better fit for Toronto. Could it have worked either way? Sure, but Lawrie's path would have had more resistance with the Brewers. I don't see his quote as classless at all.
  23. If you replace onion with bacon I would agree. I would be the world champion of disagreeing with that statement.
  24. Let's say you work for a boss who is becoming extremely rude to you about your work performance. Then he fires you. Do you send him a thank you letter?
