  1. How do you know we don't? You're not around us. Happy for the signing for no other reason than it adds depth to the pen if people get hurt. Quality depth is another question, but here's hoping for a turnaround.
  2. Watching the first video in this thread makes me wish we had a lot more Back to the Future theme music at ballparks over here.
  3. I've ridden on roads on islands in the Caribbean and been completely horrified at just about every turn. They can be extremely dangerous outside of cities.
  4. According to this article: http://www.cnn.com/2011/1...est/index.html?hpt=hp_t2 Hurd regulary attended church and sang gospel in the locker room while he played for the Cowboys. Clearly doing his best to blend in, like the restaurant owner in Breaking Bad. You just never know about people...
  5. As long as the GM looks at more than stats for context, I don't think there's really a debate here.
  6. While they did give up a lot, the Clippers still have the necessary superstar in Griffin and now have a top flight PG to go with him. They still have Jordan, picked up Billups, and have a decent up and comer in Bledsoe. They are going to be strong.
  7. Not to mention that guilt has already been handed down in the form of the failed test. The onus is on Braun to prove his innocence via appeal.
  8. Is this only considering recent players? Yount and Molitor among many others would be on the list if you look back further.
  9. Power can often be directly tied to home runs, but when players get on base, doubles can score them as well. A walk or two in there and now a single from a soft .290 hitter gets them in. Not to mention your scenario has zero accounting for whoever hits at 1st next year.
  10. Not outs are better than outs. Someone who makes less outs has more value than someone who makes more outs. The person who makes less outs is not as valuable as someone similar to him who hits for extra bases. Everything has relative value. Sometimes lineups can really benefit from players who hit a soft .290, especially lineups with power around those players.

  12. He won a World Series there in 1964. That tends to stick with you for a while. The fact that he has been calling Brewers games for the past few decades shows where his allegiance lies. As popular as he has been, he could have taken jobs elsewhere in a heartbeat.
  13. I think that the Brewers ticket office would have the most correct answer here. 414-902-4000 More than 7 days in advance of the game: Advanced parking can be purchased online with your game purchase or by calling the Ticket Office at 414-902-4000. Print at home and will-call delivery options are not available for parking purchases. Less than 7 days in advance of the game: Advanced parking can only be purchased in-person at the Ticket Office (up until 4 hours before game time). http://milwaukee.brewers....x.jsp?content=automobile
  14. I think it's a stretch to say they were "very catchable." If that was the case he would have been given errors. Morgan has been solid defensively all season. Not on Gomez's level, but not many are.
  15. Gotta love the irony of the site I was going to: Server error The website encountered an error while retrieving http://announcements.yuku...vers-are-holding-steady. It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly. Here are some suggestions: Reload this webpage later. HTTP Error 500 (Internal Server Error): An unexpected condition was encountered while the server was attempting to fulfill the request. ------ ISP: Cox Communications, Las Vegas
  16. Welcome to the forum. Enjoy your stay.
  17. Reading his lips when talking to Lucroy right as the game ended: "It hit my forearm but I'm alright."
  18. This is SCREAMING for the easy response. But I'm going to take the high road.... and let someone else say it... PLEASE speak your mind 20fry. Not saying this is you... I just thought of the quintessential nerd in his tighty whities sitting at the computer eating a hot pocket while typing "I totally think she's not even hot." It's a bit of an epidemic.
  19. Ugh... I installed some of the wireless internet there, and while I was there, got to journey in to some seemingly long-lost areas. I get the heeby-jeebies just thinking about it.
  20. I thought it was funny seeing Nyjer's 'handler' chasing him around before and during the Fbomb parade. Talk about a tough job.
  21. Fielder isn't playing the lottery. He is keenly aware that he is going to win lottery type money, an awareness that no lottery winner has ever had. I guess it all comes down to character. Sprewell made it easy early in his career to see that he had highly questionable character. I just don't see Prince the same way. He has first person, real life experience of what happens when you are careless with large amounts of money. I can guess that Prince doesn't want to see his kids get served papers for his father at a minor league game should they ever make it, like he was for his father. This is a guy who brought his kids and their Monsters Inc toy out for the postgame interview. All that said I hope the Brewers can put something together that is palatable for Fielder, but the writing is on the wall.
  22. Sure, but you don't see many in the discussion for greatest hitter of our era and top 10 of all time.
  23. Never underestimate the power of interest. That extra $40M over a long period of time turns in to a (bigger) boatload of cash for future generations. His quality of life may not change, but he can change the quality of life for his family for a long, long time.
