  2. Random press conference during a period where the Cards bats are cold, sometime in 2010: "So Mac, what can be done to correct the issues with the offense?" "I'm not here to talk about the past."
  3. other than the Bucks series, this is the series I have always wondered about. I went to the Bucks playoff games that year and lost total interest in NBA right after the playoffs ended. I have been to 2 games since. Funny you say that. I too went to every 2001 playoff game, remember booing more than I ever have at officials, and since have been to maybe a handful of Bucks games.
  4. I used to drink it quite a bit, anything from normal MD to diet MD to Baja Blast from Taco Bell, all of the above. I too got the headaches if I didn't drink it for a while, but that happens with any high-caffiene diet. I quit drinking MD a while ago though. Water is so much cheaper and better for you. You don't get the buzz, but you learn to live without it.
  5. 45 minute documentary on the super volcano below Yellowstone, on Hulu
  6. I've been a fan of google's Picasa for a few years. It requires the uploader to have a google account, but you can share pics with anyone without them having to log in. Edit: Picasa is actually a photo editor, but it allows you to share the pics online. You can upload without using their software, however. photos.google.com
  7. High five from Nevada. It was kind of hot today actually.
  8. God forbid a human being make a mistake.
  9. These darn people and their conversations, having a good time! ARGHH
  10. Contrary to what you may believe, it is possible to be lacking in common sense while still maintaining knowledge of baseball. It's not like he's setting trajectories for the space shuttle. Remember Doc Ellis? He threw a no-hitter while tripping on acid.
  11. I definitely can't wait for the new season. I've seen every episode so far.
  12. Cynicism is easy. It's low risk. When you are right, and for the Bucks this has been a good bet recently, you fall back on negativity to be 'right' and keep your credibility. If for some reason you are wrong and have to live through a successful season, you fall back on being a 'fan' and everything is roses. Those who maintain and demonstrate a positive outlook leave themselves open to potential ridicule for being 'wrong'.
  13. I thought I read that he started eating meat again sometime last season.
  14. I also did the Prime Quarter thing. It kinda blew the majesty of it when I was just one of three people at my table who did it, haha. But damn I was stuffed.
  15. All these NBA teams saying hi is a nice touch by their PR departments. Really like the direction the NBA is going.
  16. Reminds me of when the Brewers picked up Peter Bergeron a while back. Minor league roster filler/injury insurance.
  17. I watch every Brewers game on MLB.tv that I can here in Vegas. Believe it or not, even though there is no major league team here, I am still in the viewing area for the (wait for it) Diamondbacks, Padres, Dodgers, Angels, Giants, and Athletics. So whenever the Brewers have a west coast trip, even interleague, I am pretty much screwed. Sometimes I can find the Padres or Dbacks on Directv but that's it.
  18. If she seems like she is playing for the camera, maybe it is due to the fact that she works in front of a camera and just is getting a look at herself (albeit naked) as the viewing audience would. Almost like practicing a speech in front of a mirror. And typically hotel rooms are not very large from the door to the desk with the mirror. After installing wireless internet in hotels for 3 years I have been in quite a few hotels, and the layout on the rooms often has the desk close to the door.
  19. While Sal Bando was terrible for the Brewers organization at the time, he can't hurt us anymore. There is no sense in constantly being upset over spilled milk years after it has been cleaned up. Unless that's just the way you are, and so be it. Your opinion on the Yost issue is certainly welcome and up for debate as much as anyone's opinion, but time comes when you realize you are arguing against just about no one. At least in my opinion.
  20. Does the fact that the above error in judgment has been corrected since mean anything? Or are we going to take it to the grave?
  21. What some people seem to expect is perfection. You can look at the histories of GM's who have won World Series recently and/or contend year in, year out and find bad decisions. No one is perfect. Does that give Melvin a free ride? No. But I maintain that the man has done an admirable job turning around a previously moribund franchise and returning it to respectability. Is it a finished product? Not quite, but there are some admirable pieces that GM's throughout the league covet. And it was his doing assembling them in to one cohesive unit that will be together for more than a single year.
  22. I used to be a 100% travel worker and had issues like this one come up quite a bit. I would definitely ask them how much room the earlier flights have on them. It's quite possible that the room is highly limited due to the high price tag on a ticket switch. But on the chance that there may be a good amount of room on that flight, I would show up early and attempt standby. Things always happen - people miss flights, delayed connections make people too late to make their seat, etc. There is always a chance for standby depending on how full the flight is currently. Edit - I was always a fan of Frontier Airlines. Watching ESPN while flying makes the flight very fast. (Every seat has tvs in the back, able to purchase the service for $5 last I was on one)
  23. Don't diss the boots cats boots cats boots cats. (say it over and over, you will get it) And yeah Dan and I were roommates a while back for a couple years, amazing DJ/producer/...Cub fan. It's true, even before he moved to Chicago. We used to argue about Brewers/Cubs back when they were both terrible.
  24. Marcus Haislip was an excellent athlete as well. Whether Alexander figures it out more than Haislip is still up in the air, we can only hope for the best. Hard to not be excited about this year's picks for the admittedly small sample so far, however. Jennings could be a game breaker, almost an Iverson-light with more distribution.
