  2. This is right there with that Colorado game from a couple years ago in regards to the worst I have seen Sheets pitch. But Drew Olson can't rip him, because he "got angry" and hit the last guy he faced.
  3. Why the hell would you even take a lead?
  4. A-Rod just rules.
  5. What would we get for Vargas that would be better than having 7 or 8 legit starters Hopefully more prospects. The Brewers are graduating so many of them at once that they kind of need to replenish the upper levels. He's not going to fetch much, but the most important thing trading him does is open up a spot for Gallardo. They'd still have 6 starters that are average or above, maybe even 7 if you were to throw Dessens into the discussion. Parra could very well be in the mix by that time, too (he should be in AAA by then).
  6. I think he'll be up by mid-August. Vargas will be dealt at or around the deadline and Villanueva will take a couple starts in his place while Yo gets himself set for a rotation spot in Milwaukee.
  7. And why is this the first year that that contract has cause us to miss half of the Brewers' April games? Because this is the first year they have had the WMLW and FSN contracts, like I said earlier. In the past, if there was a Bucks broadcast on a particular night, there was no Brewers one. Now, with the WMLW games, there are at times both teams being broadcast. Those games are only FSN games outside of Milwaukee. Really, they are intended to give people in Milwaukee the opportunity to watch the Brewers on over the air channels. EDIT: Mad Hatter, your blackout explanation is correct, I think.
  8. It's blacked out because it's the team from your home market, and the network in the home market isn't televising it. I have no idea why they do it, but it's how it's always been.
  9. I think it's because in the past the games weren't being put on WMLW and FSN statewide. So they had no telecast of any sort on the same night as a Bucks telecast. Now, with the WMLW deal, they do, and since those games are supposed to be carried statewide on FSN, there are times when the Bucks interfere.
  10. I'm just glad it's Suppan's starts that go untelevised. I'd be venting if it was one of the pitchers I want to see. Besides, you haven't missed anything, except he forgot how to win.
  11. What were the issues about these guys in spring training? Experience at the position for Braun, along with service time concerns. For Rivera, how he would fare against major leaguers. Just because he threw a guy out in AAA doesn't erase pretty much every report in history that says he's a bad defensive player.
  12. There's not any need to play two on Sunday when they are making two more trips there later in the season.
  13. It will only be made up if it has playoff implications, I would assume.
  14. Just showed the stadium on TV... appeared to be still raining. Chances are that that wasn't even a live shot, though. So who knows how hard it's raining.
  15. I hope Sheets hasn't warmed up yet.
  16. Barry goes boom. Again.
  17. Hall isn't playing, I would imagine. I'd believe the pre-game over the online services. They get their lineups from the same place, and it's possible that an error had Hall in RF.
  18. Barry goes boom.
  19. Apparently it's going to be a surprise.
  20. you cant have two OFers playing to get through their slumps(Hall, Hart). I don't know how 23 AB's for Hart can even be classified as a slump, really the same goes for Hall. If Hart had two more dribblers get through, he'd be at .261 and no one would even notice.
  21. They don't "need" to win this game. It's April 13th. They need to let Hall just play through this thing. I love Gross, but if you're going to bench someone why not the 3B platoon?
  22. Yeah, that's odd. Though I was all for Gross every day in CF before the season started, it was with Hall playing every day at 3B.
  23. He has serious control issues it seems so I don't expect much out of him. You can have control issues and be relatively effective (Cabrera, Zambrano, etc.), but the thing that scares me is his inability to get K's. He doesn't seem to have an out pitch.
  24. This is pretty sweet.
  25. I dig the Besnard Lakes, for sure. I think the Panda Bear record is the most disappointing I have heard this year (coming in just ahead of Lucinda Williams and Son Volt, which were both duds). There is just nothing going on there.
