  1. Prince seems to be getting top spin on all his hits...they just aren't travelling they way they were last year...even his homers
  2. That's a pitch Braun crushes a couple weeks ago
  3. Get tossed Ned...it's time...that's been a strike all night
  4. Note to Bill Hall & Eric Gagne...if you hear cheers on your way to the plate or the mound...that just means the Packers scored.
  5. C'mon Crew...with the Packers playing tonight...pretend its a road game!!! Note to Bill Hall...it is a road game, your ticket to Cincinnati is waiting at the airport.
  6. Just sent something out Brian...Thank You so much for this awesome site. It keeps me sane out here in SoCal. Let's all pony up folks!!!
  7. I apologize if I'm repetitive Steve, but the image isn't coming up on my screen. It seems there are two choices. 1) Go with the current rotation: This gives CC & Sheets 4 starts each including 2 each against the Cubs, but has CC missing the Phils series. 2) Throw McClung Wednesday and have either Parra, Bush or Suppan skip a start in Philly. This puts CC in the first game of the Phillies series and preserves CC & Sheets starting 4 each. The rest should be ok since CC & Sheets would get one extra day before the Phils and would be back on 5 days after the off day. For both options, I like having CC & Sheets in the last two games since they can either start with a lot on the line or slip to Game 1 & 2 if we make it. My vote is the second option. I would probably skip Parra for a start, he may be getting gassed anyway. He could be available for a 2-4 inning stint behind either Bush and Suppan in Philly. The difference between going 0-4/1-3 in Philly and 1-3/2-2 is huge. I'd let CC slip to Philly.
  8. Thank you TiVo...I'll watch the Pack, but speed through a half inning during each commercial set. Fast forwarding through Billy Hall's at-bats is the only thing keeping me from throwing my remote through my TV.
  9. I think BA is outstanding. I agree with those who have the Extra Innings Package or MLB.tv...our guys are in the upper tier of broadcasters. Every team has their homers...I think BA strikes a great balance. He's fairly objective, but he's part of the team. When he leaves, it will be on his terms to a larger market.
  10. Booing Gagne before he threw his first pitch...just brutal. Show some class. I always appreciated that our fans didn't act like east coast fans...plenty of passion minus the edge. Now it seems like people are just bitter. It's pathetic and embarrassing. As for Gagne...the guy doesn't have the stuff he used to so it's all about location. If he's going to throw meatballs down the shoot...he's going to get pounded. It's tough to say he deserves the 8th inning role. But who should be there? Outside of Torres, no one in the pen has shown the consistency one would like. Mota? He's been much better lately, but one month ago he was the one getting booed on his way to the mound. I'm not sure I trust him with that fragile psyche. Riske? He's been kind of disappointing and shaky himself. Shouse? Very valuable, but his skill is primarily as a LOOGY. Villy? Perhaps, but he threw the day before and wasn't available. His ability to go multiple innings makes it tough to pin him into the 8th role, but he's probably the best alternative option. Dillard, Stetter, etc...it's an awfully big step for these AAAA guys to the 8th inning role during a pennant chase. I was ready to really rip Ned last night out of frustration, but considering the hand he's been dealt...it's not like he's got an obvious option. My guess is he moves Gagne out of the role after last night, but that may not be the end of our bullpen problems. If we were hitting the way we should...maybe this wouldn't be an issue.
  11. As stated, 154 is just because that's what the old schedule was. One less week of the baseball season, given the bad weather on each end wouldn't be so bad. Plus, even the Brewers in-week crowds have come down now that school has started...not to mention the Marlins fiasco the other day. As much as I love all the historical records and stats, they've all been tarnished anyway by the steroid era. I know that Hank hit 755, but off hand I can't remember how many Bonds wound up with...and I'm a fairly involved fan. I'd trade only one week of the season for a 7 game first round.
  12. Take a deep breath everyone...I have two letters for you...CC This why they call them Stoppers.
  13. Uggh...c'mon CC...this is what a stopper is for!!!
  14. The Doorman looks so depressed...I want to FedEx him a beer.
  15. Durham was ok when he got here...he just hasn't had any ABs since he got dinged up.
  16. WTG Jason...Hoffman isn't what he used to be...let's go!!!
  17. We're already at Yost-con 4...only one more step...
  18. As an aside...I just got back from my daughter's first soccer practice...imagine the horror when she was given #3. Maybe I should have offered one of the other parents some dough for a 4, 7 or 8.
  19. Although it doesn't feel like it...remember, the Mets are still behind us too. It would take both the Mets AND Phils to pass us. I like that they'll combine for .500 ball for the next three games. A simple 13-10...given our opponents I think that's a fair expectation, is an almost insurmountable hurdle for those chasing us.
  20. 6 of last 8 were quality starts resulting in 5 wins...there's half of your answer. He pitched well in April/early May before his injury as well.
  21. TLB - I did not see the YES angle...the ESPN feed was off center so it was tough to tell. The only conclusive thing was that when it finally hit the catwalk it was in foul territory...it was impossible to tell if it bent around the pole. My question was...there is another yellow pole farther back from the primary foul pole, doesn't that enter into play? If that is part of the pole, then it seemed to hit foul of that pole. Anyone know what the ground rules are there?
  22. Stevo - I wonder if that was accounting for the Astros "getting back into it"...as in going from .3% to .8% chance. Brew Crew just has to take care of the business at hand...5-2 over the next 7 would be huge.
  23. A little humor on the evening...the umps have blown the first instant replay in MLB history.
  24. Cubs post-game says Z missed his MRI appt today and was a no-show at the game...hmmmm
  25. http://images.yuku.com/image/pjpeg/d592542ad0a9dbc74d4c004a71740aebaa3a8e5.pjpg Not a bad way to end a horrible couple of days...
