  1. Cirillo can't play every day and is worse than Counsell against righties and no I'm not kidding. I'm not sure he'd have been much better there as they'd have just brought in the right hander. Not to mention Graffy is terrible at SS and I can't imagine Cirillo is much better.
  2. That was not good http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif . At least it hopefully gets us to the bullpen.
  3. How long do we have to see this new approach at the plate before we can start to blame part of the past few years on Butch.
  4. I agree for mid season, but I just don't like it on opening day, especially since he had to bat in order to go back out there.
  5. I question whether or not he should have batted in the 8th more than anything. Everyone in the known universe knows that keeping Ben healthy is a huge key to our season, why expose him to an AB and push him over 100 pitches on opening day when we have a nice comfortable lead. I just don't like the move.
  6. Lidge with his first blown save of the year, solo HR to Nady in the 9th http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif .
  7. I read the dodgers forum and they aren't worried because after Sheets we don't have any starting pitching... I think they are in for a rather rude surprise.
  8. 1 BB for Estrada already, 12 to go to match last year!
  9. Wilson posted an .858 OPS vs lefties last year with a .362 OBP so he's not a bad option against them. His 3 year splits against lefties are .279/.346/.516/.862. He probably K's too much to bat 2nd but they really don't have many options since the lineup is so weak in general.
  10. Carpenter into the high 60's in pitches already, could see that iffy looking STL bullpen early tonight.
  11. I think Graffy's back is still bothering him, I'd expect to see a lot of Counsell this first week.
  12. That Cardinal lineup really doesn't scare me.

  14. He suffers from chronic depression
  15. Bases loaded, no outs and we don't score. The more things change the more they stay the same! BREWERS WIN!
  16. Mench hit a 2 run HR. Not sure Graffanino is any better defensively at 3B than Braun is.
  17. Hall charged in on a ball that ended up going over his head.
  18. If I were a pitcher in the majors getting to face nothing but Taveras and Pierre would be just about the best dream I could have at night.
  19. NIx's MLE's last year were .280 avg, .798 OPS and played good defense in CF, he isn't near as bad as people want to say he is. That being said unless its Clark I fail to see why he would block a trade in any way.
  20. How did Vargas look if anyone actually got to watch the game?
  21. On a positive note he looks fine fielding the ball, its pretty much just throwing it which is the problem and thats usually correctable.
  22. A lot of people really don't like Branyan on this board, the same people who wouldn't want us to sign Dunn because BB's don't matter and K's do apparently. I dont' think Branyan can be a full time player though, he's too injury prone to count on so not sure I'd want to trade for him.
  23. Lowell is a gold glove quality 3B as well so would be a big defensive upgrade. The biggest problem with it is his contract sucks kinda like Jenkins does and I think jenkins is the 3rd best OF on the team and the best on the team vs Righties so I don't see a huge reason to trade him other than to hope Gross repeats last year.
  24. There is a reason Walker hasn't played full time in forever, he's mediocre with the bat and stinks in the field.
