  1. BrewerJamie how about the desert......oh wait! I never thought I would participate in this thread other than laughing at it, but we are in the midst of getting 5-7 inches of snow in Las Vegas! It has been snowing for 3 hours now with no end in sight looking at the radar. It is pretty cool for us!
  2. Thought I would give this a bump.....RoseBwlMtg posted something on the MLB page about seeing a rumor that Peavy is coming for a package centered around Escobar. Said he say the rumor on a Badger board....does anyone have any knowledge of even a rumor of this? I couldn't find anything that even mentions it except for that thread.
  3. Now that CC has decided on New York does this change our prespective on Prince. I don't really see a way we compete this year and with little to no pitching help on the way over the next one or two years does it make sense to keep Prince with little hope of him signing an extension. I say deal him now for a package including a young stud (Morrow) that we can slot in along with Parra and Yo for the next 4-5 years. It leaves a huge hole in the lineup, but you could sign a guy like Abreu for RF and throw Gamel in at firstbase. Just a thought.
  4. Steve Phillips just brought up a Brewer/Mariner trade possibility involving Prince for Putz and a package of players....for what it is worth. Sometimes I wonder if these guys read this site and report based on what others here list.
  5. BrewCrewin that was a great post and really summed up my thoughts as well. I am excited about tomorrow as I was about today, but in a way that I haven't been all season. No matter what happens it has been a successful season, it has just been a weird type of successful. If this team had been more balanced throughout the season I think many here would think differently about this bunch, but this has been a team of very high ups and very low downs, which makes for an interesting ride. Anyway you look at it we will end up with the 3rd or 4th best record in the NL and at worst will miss the second best record by 3 games. I want them to win more than anything right now, but I will be the first to admit I have been a little to hard on the boys with my comments at moments and appreciate the season they have provided.
  6. It would be a nice change of pace to see the offense come out and score some runs early. The Cubs are running Guzman and his 7.09 ERA out there to start and Pinella has said it will be a bullpen game. CC is going to give up a few to a solid lineup on short rest, it would be nice if he could have some support behind him early for once. I agree with whoever posted possibly starting Gwynn for Hart. Not that I am a Gwynn fan at all, but aside from his two bloop hits on Friday, Hart has be absolutely horrible at the plate. I know it won't happen, but honestly it may be addition by subtraction giving him a day off. I am excited for the game and will be watching!
  7. Not sure what the Brewers will do, but I find it hard to believe we will see Harden in the last game of the year. I would be shocked if the Cubs pitched in instead of resting him for Game 1 or 2 of the playoffs.
  8. Here's an idea for any area reporters reading. Next time Corey Hart complains about the team being booed, please reference this inning to him and see how he responds. Hell, if I was in that dugout as one of the players I would have booed that inning. Dave I know you are a pitcher, but there are 10 year olds playing little league all acoss the country that wouldn't make that stupid of a baserunning mistake. Only your 2008 Milwaukee Brewers could have a guy on second with one out, hit a double and not score in the inning. Absolutely pathetic.
  9. Well at least we will be playing October baseball in 2009! So we have that to look forward to.....which is nice!
  10. Quality at bat Cameron....real quality!
  11. I am calling a pop out to second or rightfield
  12. Someone mentioned losing the team in an earlier comment, and I don't know if anyone caught this but in watching game one of yesterday's DH, the body language and expression they glimced of Fielder after Shouse gave up the single was somewhat telling. It didn't look as though he was pissed at Shouse, but rather could not believe he was left in to pitch to Burrell. Just an observation that made me think to myself yesterday. Don't know if it correct or not.
  13. Thank God we have Suppan for these important September games. The sold us on his late season experience and his veteran leadership....what a crock of crap. He can take that and his 86 MPH fastball and disappear for all I care.
  14. Bullox I will not bet against them because I want them do well and am always rooting for them, however I am fairly certain most Badger Fans think next weeks game will be a walk in the park for the Badgers. Fresno St. is a very, very good team and will give them all they can handle. I would not be shocked if they did indeed get beat. If they come out and play like they did in the first quarter next week there will be no comeback. Fresno St is no Marshall and I can promise you will not be intimidated playing the Badgers.
  15. Don't worry you are not missing much if you can't see it. This team is going to get crushed next week at Fresno St. You have to be able to throw the ball at least a little bit, and the Redshirt Freshman Marshall QB is going through our defense like a hot knife through butter.
  16. Does anyone besides me think Sheet's curveball looks weird. It looks a lot more like a slider than his normal 12-6 curveball. There was one other start (maybe the Cubs game) where I say this, but haven't noticed it since.
  17. At this rate, by mid-september there will not be one person even wanting the Brewers to resign Ben Sheets.
  18. Dale was thinking Cameron was already on thirdbase. He forgot that our manager is the most idiotic manager in all of sports and asked our worse hitting pitcher to try a slash play. I don't care that he didn't get it down last at bat. When you are in the Wildcard chase and each game means so much, you do not take chances on stupid plays like that. Ned you are an idiot.
  19. PaulRigdon, What year did you graduate from Muskego. I grew up in Muskego and would have graduated from there in '96, but we moved to Vegas in the middle of my Sophmore year 2/1/94. Just curious. I too remember the Arrowhead game. My cousin was the starting QB for Arrowhead that year so while I was rooting for Muskego, I also had ties to Arrowhead.
  20. For those of you who have seen him pitch or know of his pitching style, is Brae Wright a hard thrower. He is having a really nice year for Huntsville and seems to be able to strike people out. What kind of pitches does he throw and how does he project. Is he a guy who will be a starter down the road or is he destined to become a LOOGY? Just curious.
  21. Squirrel, Best of luck to you and your family while you go through this. I will keep you in my prayers. You seem to have a pretty upbeat mindset, just make sure and keep that. Your mind is extremely powerful and being positive and knowing you can beat this will go a long way.
  22. He was whinning and crying about a called strike. He kept carrying on and got tossed, but made an ass of himself in the dugout while he was at it. Prince it is not Doug Edings fault you just got your re-end handed to you. Maybe it had something to do with your play and that of your teammates.
  23. I had these same thoughts as well. His velocity is fine and last night his curveball looked good, although I will admit that in watching him in his previous start his curveball looked to me more like a slider than Ben's typical 12-6 breaker. Last night though his stuff was really good. He has not been very good over his past 4-5 starts and I really don't know the reason.
  24. I for one would love to see Angel up with the Brewer's in a Rivera mold next year just so he can have a year to work with Kendall. Kendall isn't the greatest hitter for sure, but it has been a pleasure to watch that man catch this year. He is in complete control of the game and is really having a great defensive year. I know Jason's Dad did some great work with him over the winter to improve his percentage.....Coach talk Angel into making that phone call to Jason to see if Pops would be willing to teach him some things!
  25. Yeah its a great thing we got that 3 time gold glover to sure up our outfield. Gabe Kapler anyone? Does Cameron have something against Manny Parra? He Ned there is a lefty up right now. Are you saving Shouse and Stetter for something?
