  1. Well, I ask because I'm sure Illinois would love to talk to Buzz and Tom Crean left Marquette for a struggling Big 10 team just a couple years ago (Indiana was a bigger mess then than Illinois is now although I admit Indiana's program has more historical prestige than Illinois). Buzz has built a good program though so I doubt he'd be interested.
  2. Well the Bruce Weber era in Illinois is over. Marquette fans - any worry that Buzz could be a candidate? Or is that really just a lateral step (at best) at this point? No clue what Marquette pays him now.
  3. There's a ton of stuff that goes into DOT projects - environmental surveys, bidding, funding, etc. Inconveniencing Brewers fans is probably pretty low on their list of concerns.
  4. That was a weak episode, the last five minutes notwithstanding. Dale was starting to get annoying and his annoyance reached it's pinnacle in this episode so I won't miss his character and his ridiculous ideals. Not a whole lot was learned. We thought Rick was turning a corner, but he wasn't able to pull the trigger...twice.
  5. "I'm not only the Hair Club president, but I'm also a client!"
  6. Thanks, downloaded the app and read it. Nothing too Earth shattering, but good stuff.
  7. Is this confirmed? It's hard to dig through this thread and find where this was said. Did Carroll bring this up in his Amazon.com article. I haven't really heard from anyone else that his legal team replicated the extreme results.
  8. It was a little strange that a large chunk of the cast was absent in the last episode. Maybe that's a common occurrence that I hadn't noticed before, or maybe it's a way to save some money since the show is going through budget cuts. The schism between Rick and Shane is reaching it's tipping point. I've got to think that the group is going to split in two. Hershel's group, Rick, Lori, Carl, Glen and Dale are interested in living in a normalish society and Shane, Andrea, Daryl, and T-Dawg are survivalists. Splitting the group would remove all the drama and tension so I'm sure I'm wrong (unless Shane kidnaps Lori and Carl or something), but I feel like that's the way it's headed.
  9. I thought of the Cardinals too. At this point in their careers, I'd consider Beltran and Hart a wash. The odds of Beltran providing another 500 AB season seem slim. Jay and Morgan are pretty close too although one could argue Jay has more upside. Allen Craig is the kicker. He looks like a starter to me, but is recovering from knee surgery.
  10. Hey, someone brought it up to him on twitter (maybe it was you) and he brought it up on WTMJ just now.
  11. So basically, if a sample is left out, unrefrigerated for x number of days, a bacterial transformation could spike testosterone in the sample? I would have preferred Braun and his camp gone with this theory over tampering.
  12. What about the ol' switcheroo? Either at the administrators home or at the ball park? Was the sample taken and then sealed in front Braun? Or does Braun pee in a cup, screw a lid on it and hand it the administrator and walk away without witnessing it being sealed because testing has become so commonplace?
  13. Was hoping he'd be asked how he would handle or trust future tests. He'll be tested this season. A lot. How can he possibly trust anyone involved? I was also hoping he'd ask the media to stop using the word "technicality", but him explaining the circumstances may have made that point anyway. Everyone has said it, so I will too....He absolutely killed that presser in my eyes. So proud to be a Braun and Brewers fan.
  14. Someone who works at one of these labs called into D.P. He said once it is realized that the chain of custody is broken, that sample has to be thrown out and the process needs to be re-started.
  15. Wow. How prescient! Thanks for linking back to your initial thoughts in December. The simple minded talking heads in the media are going to get in the way of Braun's public exoneration. Basically, in their minds, arguing a testing technicality is Braun admitting guilt, but getting off because MLB didn’t follow the proper rules. Braun’s legal team could have beat the drum that “my client has never taken a banned substance”, but ultimately all MLB has to say is “you’re responsible for what is in your body”. Boom – guilty. Their best defense was to argue the testing process and it turns out they were right to do so. Also, D.P. said Braun took a lie detector test and passed.
  16. Yeah, I normally love listening to B & B, but had to turn them off on my way home. A lawyer called in and explained the importance of chain of custody and that it is NOT a technicality and they just dismissed him because they're minds were already made up since Bud is "involved" (even though MLB is outraged by this decision).
  17. You mean like altering to the point that testosterone levels are reportedly INSANELY HIGH? This seriously makes a ton of sense.
  18. There will be a large contingency that will still believe Braun was juicing. Hell, we still don't know the details of what went down with the testing, etc.
  19. Thought TH's twitter got hacked or something because I saw the AP tweets and TH's link wasn't working at first. Yowza wowza!
  20. Love the Dough Melvin photo bomb.
  21. Love the Dough Melvin photo bomb.
  22. The major differences are that Lin was undrafted, a college walk-on, had been cut by another team, and has been on this incredible role as first games as an NBA starter. It's a pretty unique story.
  23. They are including the AtBat App for the premium MLBTV package this year. http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/subscriptions/index.jsp?&c_id=mlb&affiliateId=mlbMENU Weren't there some pretty major issues with MLBTV and all streaming devices last year? I was looking into buying a Roku last year and looked at the forums on Roku and MLBTV and there were tons of complaints about streaming with Roku, AppleTV, Samsung TVs, etc. Did those issue get worked out as the season wore on?
  24. I'm absolutely impressed with Ryan Evans. I never really believed he'd contribute offensively. He always seemed too passive or unsure. I had him pegged as the next Jason Chappell. It's so refreshing to see a big guy with the will and determination to get in good positions down low for a change. He has really good footwork and is quicker than one might suspect. He just needs to figure out how to finish now. That flat jumper and jump hook are pretty ugly, but he could be really good by this time next year.
  25. Thanks for all the advice. I'll find a way to release some nervous energy (jogging) and remember that that I don't HAVE to land this job.
