  1. Taylor Green better get an at bat for either Casey or Yuni in the 9th or I may begin to hemorrhage.
  2. Dear RR. I want to see Taylor Green bat. Could you make this happen this inning? Thanks. LFO
  3. Yuni grounds out on the first pitch. JHJ works a full count, gets jammed and dumps one into left. Hairston. needs. to. start. at. short.
  4. Brewers' record for a season was obviously '08 when they sold 3,068,458 tickets. This season, through 66 games they are sitting at 2,453,617 tickets sold... or 614,841 tickets short of the record. With 15 remaining home games .. the Brewers would need to average 40,989 fans per game in order to break that record. Plausible? No. Possible? Kind of. I'm not sure why I'm so interested in breaking the attendance record this year ... but it feels like we are suppose to. We need to sell out from here on out ...
  5. The Brewers just assured themselves a .500 season!
  6. I'm pretty sure I just saw an Ed Sedar jersey in the stands... that just lightened my mood.
  7. BA's call... "My bad, that one didn't sound good off the bat"
  8. Corey Hart currently joins Braun and Fielder in the .500 slugging club. Stay up there!
  9. Slight argument could be made that we are winning because of it too. Do I think Hart scores on that double from first ... yeah. But the Brewers bunt the second most of any team in the league and when you are playing close games and can get guys into scoring position for the two guys leading the way right now in the MVP race ... I think it's often a good decision. I actually think Morgan is unbelievably unselfish and extremely smart for how often he bunts/sacrifices. I have no comment on Yuni's bunt.Worst case, Hart goes to 3rd base on Braun's double. Then Prince sac-flys him home. Bunts are useless more often than not. In Braun's 453 official at bats this season ... he has doubled, tripled, or homered 64 times. (14% of at bats) He has singled in 87 of those (19% of at bats). So all else equal, If Hart remains on first for Braun's at-bat .. he will score during that at bat 14% of the time and if he is advanced to 2nd for that at bat he will score 33% of the time. I won't go into what happens if Braun gets out and Prince is then up with a runner on 2nd vs. 1st. I guess I disagree with your sarcasm regarding Halladay ("let's give you 2-3 free outs") ... because when Halladay is mowing down the bottom part of our order, if we can steal a run or two via the "hated" small ball, you do it. The only favorable match-ups we have against guys like Halladay, Lee, Hamels, Jurrjens, Hanson, etc are Braun and Fielder and so if you can get guys into scoring position for those few at bats during a game ... you do it. I understand Casey Coleman isn't one of those pitchers, so this argument isn't for this game.. but I am ok with the philosophy. In years past we haven't had the pitching to win 3-2 or 2-1 games ... we needed big innings to win. That isn't the case this year.

  11. I feel like Nyjer beats that out if he doesn't stutter step into the base. Well done Braun.
  12. I hope everyone is prepping their RY pics ... I expect 30 of them.
  13. We all have to remember that Prince isn't batting in front of Prince. I wonder how the numbers would look if Prince was #3 and Braun was #4. Braun is one of the most consistent and smooth hitters I've seen in awhile ... but he has the honor of hitting in front of one of the most feared hitters in baseball too. Prince has been hitting all season in front of one of the most disfunctional #5 spots in the NL.
  14. I've got a bottle of champagne and a pic of Curtis Leskanic already dialed up... just praying we get to see both on this board.
  15. Well... does Thome's 600th overtake the triple play for #1 on Sportscenter? ... regardless congrats Jim, well done.
  16. James Loney's 2 at bats have resulted in 5 outs so far ... something to keep an eye on. I wonder what the single game record is?
  17. I don't see how you can say that as a matter of absolute fact. I think RR, for all his many faults, does get major points for being a "players manager." That was the book on him coming in, and the Brewers have strongly reinforced this as the year has gone on. He may or may not be a good player's manager. This is a good team. They have never had much adversity and it is very easy to get along when things are that easy. Sure we are but we have really bad hitters at SS and 3B this year so the offense can be made up somewhat there. Gamel doesn't even have to hit anywhere near as well as Fielder. Like you said the defense should improve as well. His full season has been a different story ... but during these last 3-4 weeks when the Brewers have gone unconscious ... Yuni has been a top 3 (the best?) hitter on this team and has won his fair share of games for us. Just sayin'...
  18. Really good to see Ax and Saito both work around the first batters reaching on errors ... I know it has been noted, but it is REALLY nice having 4 closers in our bullpen.
