What is with all the excuses today, first a ball bounces off Weeks glove and people want to forgive him because it was hit hard, who cares, he is in the majors. Same with this, these players are in the World Cup and they cant put the ball within a 24 by 8 foot box from 10 yards away? No excuse, unbelievably pathetic.

All I could find is that Cook is 3-1 with a 2.88 ERA in 5 starts at home against Milwaukee... couldn't find any stats in Milwaukee though.

Hmm.. interesting. With Braun out I would have defaulted to defense and put Gomez in center and Morgan in left to close the gaps a little for the Rockies. If you insist on Rickie hitting 5th fine ... but with the injury I would have gone back to Weeks, Morgan, Hart, Fielder, etc... With a struggling Cook on the mound this is a big game for the Crew to win and split the series. I hope Kotsay goes 3-4 with a few RBI's to shut me up but this is a big *sigh* for me. Also, Josh Wilson starting twice at short? Finally and thank you.

Good for JJ. Always liked him ... wished he was back here. I still think Baltimore is the ultimate landing spot for Prince and having JJ at short is only going to enhance the "offer" they can give him.

Brewers to test demand-based pricing

I'm skeptical... only because I can see ticket prices rising at any moment for most any reason, (ex. We just took 3 of 4 from Pittsburgh, Fielder has homered in 3 straight games, Braun is approaching the 30/30 plateau, etc.) but how soon will they decide to drop ticket prices for games (especially if we are in the chase) if they can probably rely on a pretty big walk up crowd? I'm about 2 hours from the stadium and yes, if I could get $5 tickets the night before a game I would grab my friends more often to do so... but I don't see them slashing the prices up until about first pitch. -
Looks like we are getting the "good" Dontrelle today ... let's hope we can get him out by the 3rd and make it a long day for the Reds.

What are your thoughts on him in the booth? I like him. He's raw obviously and he was sometimes a touch awkward... but it was a nice addition to have the perspective of an accomplished major league hitter talking us through at bats and where to look for pitches. I was a little bothered by BA though, he was acting weird... asking off the wall questions which led to a lot of dead air. My favorite BA/JC exchange was: JC: (after watching the replay of Kotsay's game winner) We call that "gator-arming" it...BA: Is that kind of like what you do when reaching for the bill at the dinner table? ..(5 second pause).. JC: What? What did you all think of Cirillo in the booth?

It is tough watching Counsell at the plate right now ... he looks defeated the moment he steps in the box.

Good thing Lucroy's Slugging is over 100 points higher.Kotsay .353 - Lucroy .418 ... over 100 points? I'm not suggesting anything other than Kotsay has put together a real nice week. That's it. Braun has been out and Kotsay, offensively at least, has picked up the slack.

Pretty gutsy call with Marcum at the plate and the less than fleet footed YB storming from 3rd ... even if you guessed that Cueto was going to be pounding the strike zone. Have to give credit where credit is due though ... RR just tied the game up there.

I'm not mad at Loe. If he is asked to pitch to 4 lefties then that is what he is going to do. I'm mad at the person in charge of letting him throw to 4 consecutive lefties when we have a small lead.

I don't understand why there can't be a manager DL... or the ability to option RR down to AAA. I would like Don Money to take control for a few weeks so Roenicke can make some decisions without the stress. (read between the lines... I don't really want to look at Roenicke for awhile)
