  1. Weeks just not the same on the basepaths. I was yelling "take a pitch!" to Yuni. I would have cried had that not gotten through. Good job Yuni. Scratch across 1 more this inning and get Gomez in center so we can keep the game close. Deep breath.
  2. ...and now our best and only weapon currently on the starting staff is having this start ripped away from him because of a hunch. Can't believe this is happening right now.
  3. I think Gomez gets that double as well. So sick to my stomach right now.
  4. I really feel like we needed a run that inning. Carp had jitters and we let him off the hook.
  5. Well, watching the pregame it looks like Yo is going through his pregame stretches. He's getting the ball. Good luck kid! We need you.
  6. Braun/Hart > Holliday/Berkman ... The CF throws it towards St. Louis though. However, I am willing to bet two teams have never fielded such a poor combined defensive outfield in a Championship series game than what we are about to see.
  7. Crazy thought.. but should we be telling Narveson/Wolf to be ready to start/pitch tonight? Hear me out... We've been watching the forecast and it has been playing games. As of now it looks like the main storm will hit before first pitch and the rain will be scattered beyond that... but if there is major rain scheduled to hit after the game starts that will cause a big delay ... we could very well see a Detroit/Yankees situation where our aces get 2 innings under their belt and then have to be pulled after a long delay, effectively ruining their turn through the rotation. It would be a serious gamble .... but if we are anticipating that situation, couldn't we throw a Narveson (not an ideal pick but good #'s against St. Louis in '11) and Wolf combo tonight and then hold Yovani back until tomorrow? Yo would be on 5 days rest (as he was for Game 5 of the NLDS) and then would be on 3 days rest if needed for Game 7 in Milwaukee. (not ideal obviously for Game 7, but again.... gambling). The risk would obviously be the rain cooperating and having to throw a Wolf/Narveson combo against Carpenter... meanwhile Gallardo's days between pitching would be altered. The reward is getting a favorable Gallardo/Lohse matchup tomorrow (to even the series and guarantee a Greinke start at Miller Park/or if magic happens tonight to go up 3/1) ... and an added reward, if the weather goes in our favor, is dodging a full Carpenter start. I'm not sure how serious I am about this ... I mainly want to hear some discussion on it to validate or decapitate it. I really want to out manage La Russa. Am I trying to hard?
  8. Please prove us wrong Ron and Mark. But I sure hope St. Louis doesn't hit anything to center today ... ugh. Sick to my stomach thinking about a close game decided by a lead off triple somewhere that Gomez or Morgan would normally camp under.
  9. So there it is. He didn't like the umpires taking away 1/3 of his pitcher's plate. I'm not sure anyone predicted that. The prize doubles and we will play again tomorrow. See you then.
  10. Here is a thread started by a Cardinals fan who is filing a complaint with TBS because Brian Anderson is calling the games for TBS. You can't make this stuff up. http://www.forums.mlb.com...=ml-cardinals&tid=105945
  11. We have a small pool at work predicting what TLR will complain about after his Game 1 loss. I figured I would bring the fun to this board because it got pretty funny. My money ended up being on him accusing Milwaukee area hotels of undercooking their breakfast. I am feeling pretty good about it.
  12. ESPN has the following pitching matchups currently posted (1:30 AM Saturday) Game 1: Garcia at Greinke Game 2: E Jackson at TBD Game 3: Gallardo at Carpenter Game 4: TBD at Lohse http://espn.go.com/mlb/schedule
  13. Avatar changed. Today is the day Yovani Gallardo becomes a legend.
  14. Best team in baseball at home. Yovani starts the leap from Brewers pitcher to Brewers legend on Friday. I'm frustrated ... but confident.
  15. I agree with all so far. I thought the squeeze was an awesome call. Giving Greinke the ball and only asking/needing 5 out of him at home (even with the Upton hiccup) was ok with me too. As far as Gibson, I couldn't understand why he intentionally walked Kotsay. He had the top of the order up after Mark and I know he was making a force out around the bases but bring in a lefty and you have a good chance against the worst hitter out of the next 6 that were going to bat. The DBacks had a chance to minimize the damage in that inning and failed big time.
  16. Of Ian Kennedy's starting 8 teammates yesterday... Lucroy's .265 season average was better than Aaron Hill (.246), Chris Young (.236), Ryan Roberts (.249), Lyle Overbay (.234) and was equal to Willie Bloomquist (.266). So if Lucroy can't hit ... the Brewers should rest their starters from here on out because neither can the majority of Arizona's team.
  17. Wow. quick inning. Always great to get a quick zero after scoring. Well done Yo.
  18. Easily the best part of my day was that two minute stretch. It's too bad the Rangers stumbled so badly in game 1 with Cooper and mom in attendance. I hope the Rangers are a part of his/her healing process over the next few years.
  19. I think the best defensive play of the year ... even more so than Yuni's flip to Weeks was Marcum's play against Fowler. That would be my offering to this list... http://brewers.mlb.com/vi....jsp?content_id=16993847
  20. Bernie Brewers twitter (reliable?) just stated it is a 1:07 first pitch. http://twitter.com/Bernie_Brewer
  21. I agree... but if we get Kennedy twice, they are both at home. If we play two games of Gallardo/Kennedy, both in Miller Park, I'm confident we get one.
