  1. I actually forgot Sanchez was on our team still after a few games.
  2. Can you imagine this bullpen if we can acquire an all star closer right around the all star break?
  3. wow wow wow. Uribe. i held my breath on that stretch... save your knees my guy.
  4. We are 7 seconds into the season and I'm already bored as H on off days. I checked the schedule 6 times yesterday just to make sure I wasn't missing the game.
  5. I hate using anything Tony LaRussa said or did as a mindset ... but he said something years ago along the lines of "you play against .500 until August, and then you can look at the standings" .. and that is the biggest thing this year with our squad and how young it is. We will have hiccups along the way and our final form in September will have, fingers crossed, Devin Williams back along with an acquisition or 2. So until then .. just win games. I don't care if it is 17-11 or 4-1 or 1-0 or whatever. Let the kids grow together and put together winning series. Great start to the season and if nothing else, this team won't be boring this year. Go Crew.
  6. Easy game. Easy series. Get the brooms out on Easter. What a start the season. Rhys Hoskins is on the short track to be a cult hero here.
  7. So Robin Yount is #1, #3, and #16 on the list of youngest players on an opening day roster since 1974? That is easily my new favorite stat on that guy.
  8. If he is changing his swing/approach at the plate I hope he gets as many at bats as possible to start the season. So I agree with you.
  9. I know it will depend on how the roster looks when we break camp... But if we are facing a RHP wouldn't we much rather have a defensive outfield of Chourio, Mitchell, and Frelick AND add the extra left handed bat to the lineup?
  10. Can it be much worse than last year?
  11. Holy smokes is this drastically different. If Wiemer can clean up his issues at the plate .. let's go.
  12. Would you like him to be in the cage for 19 hours a day or should he not do other baseball activities while he is not in the batter's box?
  13. Because we want a guy to give up at bats to hit ground balls to the right side to move runners over from 2nd to 3rd, or chop the ball on the infield to score runners from 3rd. Then the guy loses his job because his power numbers aren't high enough. If I'm Gary Sanchez and there is nobody out and a runner on 2nd ... I'm trying to put the ball into the stands because I know a .2 difference in my OPS might be the difference in a contract or not the next year. Fans ask for the 'baseball play' but also get upset at the 'lack' of numbers.
  14. Man I will be upset if Sanchez is DHing against a RHP when we can DH Yelich and get another LHB in the lineup while improving our OF defense.
  15. I think we are a little hypocritical as fans though when we blame someone for "not being a team player" "not making winning plays" ... and then in the very next thread be arguing over whether Gary Sanchez deserves a roster spot because his OPS is percentage points lower than this next player..
  16. I tend to agree with this. Unless we get an offer that is crazy .. we just don't know which one (outside of Chourio) is going to bloom yet. Their trade value is low ... I'm holding on all 3. Nothing wrong with giving Wiemer 200 at bats in AAA to start the year.
  17. What a wonderful problem.
  18. I think Andrews was DFA'd for Junis if I saw correctly. Unless you mean a different 2nd move?
  19. That's more so my point. You are insinuating the Brewers didn't reach out at all to JD's team to ask, and then faulting them for it, without the knowledge of ... unless there is info out there I missed.
  20. Could we have gotten JD Martinez on a 1yr deal?
  21. Another tradeable piece at the deadline if things don't go well. .984 OPS (80 at bats) against LHP last year. .798 career OPS vs LHP
  22. The collection of starters we have leads me to believe it so, but are we assuming Pat Murphy is going to follow Counsell's MO of not letting starters face a lineup a 3rd time? Seems like we have a bunch of arms that are 3-4 inning types. Seems like a lot of piggy-backing is on our horizon..
  23. He was a FA signing.
