  1. Too bad for Andruw ... but the numbers game just didn't work in his favor. Dunn and Ortiz are must plays right now ... just no at bats for him. The minute the Brewers needed another position player, he was the likely demotion unfortunately. Hopefully this isn't forecasting a Yelich announcement later today. Also, If I know the Brewers like I think I know the Brewers, Koenig will be pitching by the 7th inning today.
  2. Nice to see the 'play the matchups' move by Murphy pay off big the first time through the order.
  3. I have forgotten Gary Sanchez was on this team about 4 times this year already. This is nice. This is real nice.
  4. Great point. Let's take this as a positive and go beat Burnes.
  5. This is fun. An all time favorite Brewers player.
  6. Welcome back Wade. Really glad to have you.
  7. I think his hand slipped off the bag for a second in the transfer... if it wasn't obstruction I think he would have been out. He definitely beat the throw by a good bit though.
  8. I dunno y'all. This team is just delightful right now. Our pitching staff is suspect all over but our young position core is so fun.
  9. If Bauers can hit even a little bit he is going to be very valuable. His defense has been awesome. Gary Sanchez is just collecting dust right now.
  10. I usually don't like starting new topics on this page to try and do my part to keep it uncluttered... But I thought his response here was too good and could lead to about 8 different discussion points on the topic, especially the second half of the answer. From the change in the baseball, to incentivizing speed and spin vs location and strategy, to the trickle down affect to youth baseball, to pitch clock, etc there is a lot to unpack here. Very interesting topic.
  11. I dunno, I get having the confidence in Rea to get through another hitter or two or whatever... but there is also benefit to letting him have a 6ip, 2er victory in his home debut and let him sit with that stat line for a few days. Confidence is a real thing... and sending him back out there is going to save Vieira like .. 8 pitches? 10 pitches? No reason to stay at the slot machine at the casino and beg for a jackpot when it has already doubled your money, you know?
  12. What did Rea say when he came in after the 6th?
  13. Did Perkins stutter step at the end there? Am I making that up? I wonder if he stretches full stride if he beats that out...
  14. Man, whenever a guy gets trashed by our fan base I want him to do well so badly lol. Nice pick by the kid with the first batter. I hope he goes 3-4 for a bomb so this thread gets fewer replies ;)
  15. The Brewers were the last remaining 1 loss team in MLB before conclusion yesterday ... and after the game we find ourselves 1 game out from last in the division. #NLCentral 5-2 is great, but scoring the 7th least amount of runs in baseball through 7 games (I know we have played 1 less game than almost all) isn't great. Just win series though. Scratch out a win today and the start to the season record wise is smashing expectations.
  16. Junk just lost two nights ago to our folk hero Caleb Boushley against St Paul, I think Ashby is the only option really. Isn't it crazy how it all works? We are 5 games into the season and we are already "on the only option" to bring up a spare starter.
  17. Man, Francisco Mejia. Blast from the past with that name.
  18. I actually forgot Sanchez was on our team still after a few games.
