I fear you are basing your Brewers memories of him off of 2.1 innings pitched in the playoffs in his career and from a dumb decision to punch a wall. His covid year was magic. After that, the lowest ERA numbers of his Brewers career were his seasons as a closer, the lowest WHIP #'s he had were his years as a Brewers closer, his best K/BB numbers were as a closer. He only blew 11 save chances as a Milwaukee Brewers pitcher in his career (including playoffs) and for reference, his save % (86.1%) is nearly identical to Josh Hader's as a Brewers player (86.9%). I know your eyes saw what they saw but the #'s paint a much more favorable picture of who Devin Williams was on the mound. It is just too bad he tipped a few pitches against the Mets and that is predominantly what he will be remembered for.

The discussion of who has been the most important Brewers player this season is a fun one and I think there are under a half dozen guys who you could make a real argument for. I think Peralta is on that list, I think Priester is on that list, I think if we combine the back end of the bullpen into one person... They are on that list, Vaughn is trending to get there and Durbin probably deserves an honorable mention in there somewhere.. Isaac Collins is on the list and I would not fight anyone who has him picked as our most important player this season.

Maybe an odd question, is there a way to find out who leads the league in errors against them? Trying to quantify and qualify the Brewers putting the bat on the ball and above average base running putting pressure on opponents..

I would rather have Henderson pitching tonight also. For arguments purposes though, if we knew we only had 10 to 15 more innings for Henderson this season before we shut him down.. would we rather use them all up now or should we save a few for later in the season for insurance purposes?

There is a bit of merit here to how organization's can and should scrape from others. I don't think it is a coincidence at all that the White Sox have an open door policy to any Brewers pitcher they can get. If I was a struggling franchise I would grab from someone who is doing it right as much as possible. In our case, if there are teams out there that you can steal from because you have a developmental process that is more thorough and can 'extract' talent that they don't have the energy to find... what a system. Let's trade with the Yankees at all times.

.. and that's where I landed with all of this. I'm not knocking the FO even a bit for any of it IF any of it is more than coincidence. Use the system that's given to you. I was just pointing out that a few of our injuries as of late have just been fortunate in their timings.

Is there any way this can be made into an active chart? I just saw that Castro is hitting .200 with the Cubs, McMahon is like 3 for his last 18, and Suarez has no idea where he is. This chart would be incredible to reference as the summer drags on so we don't have to check each one individually. I'm not sure how hard that request is... thank you! -
Color me suspicious on this injury as well. This one is as coincidental as the Miz injury. Myers wasn't able to be recalled until Sunday or so unless an injury occurred... Henderson cannot surpass 45 days on the active roster if we want to keep his rookie status next year. Although Myers is now listed as tomorrow's starter, so I suppose they would have just thrown Henderson tomorrow and then sent him down for Myers after the weekend... I dunno, I truly hope I am right and the Brewers are just playing sneaky chess. Cannot have another Gasser situation. But until further notice I am suspicious... **post edit, by my count Logan has spent 26 days on the active roster, someone can fact check me on that .. so we have 18 remaining days he can be with us active if we want to holdover his rookie status into next year**

I would think that is the hope. If they both show well in this final month plus.. I'm not sure there's much benefit to having them hit in the cold weather for the first month next season. -

All of this said, the Brewers have won at like an 80% clip (any chance someone could actually look this stat up for me? I won't be able to for a while yet. ) since Rhys left the team so he does not have too much footing to stand on if he throws a tantrum over playing time when he returns.

I mentioned this a few days back too. A platoon at DH with Yeli and Hoskins would make our lineup pretty sick... But I don't know how either would handle it and I'm not sure Murphy could do it. But it is the right move right now.
