  1. https://worldbaseball.com/brewers-sign-19-year-old-taiwanese-rhp-to-minor-league-contract/ RHP Chang Tzu-Chun Lin, 19yo "Lin is a 19-year-old right-handed pitcher who was expected to be a first-round pick in the upcoming Chinese Professional Baseball League Mid-Season Rookie Draft on June 30, but he has chosen not to register. Instead, he signed a minor-league deal with the Brewers with a $250,000 signing bonus. The Brewers have assigned him to the Dominican Summer League Brewers. Lin will now try to make his way from rookie ball up through the Brewers system." The 19-year-old has touched 94 mph with his fastball. He graduated from Hsinchu City Chengde High School last year and was studying at Kainan University. The Los Angeles Dodgers and Seattle Mariners also reportedly made an offer to Lin, but he ended up signing with the Brewers. The Brewers have developed a reputation for developing pitching and will now get to work with Lin.
  2. .. and I guess I just mean how much effort it looks like he is giving. Every swing his back foot grinds a half inch into the ground..
  3. This is a random observation but for a guy that is always harped on for making soft contact and not being a power hitter.. in person, I don't know that another player swings harder than Sal Frelick.
  4. I'm at the game, can someone confirm Durbin had that throw beat by 3ft even if on target?
  5. Having Collins and Turang back to back in the lineup has got to be annoying as heck for pitchers. I feel like they take 10+ combined pitches between the two of them each time through.
  6. Mlb pipeline had Rodriguez as the Brewers' #7 prospect and 10 weeks later fangraphs has him as the 31st prospect for the Red Sox?
  7. Collins is grading out as the best defensive LF in baseball right now to go along with a 117 OPS+ ... he is playing better baseball than Reynolds is and it isn't very close. Not saying Reynolds won't resurface ... but barring injury Collins is our LF the rest of the year. Perkins is the depth piece we need in the outfield.
  8. You hate his injuries. Unless you think he is faking them.
  9. SMALL SAMPLE SIZE ALERT First 4 games in Nashville are complete for Vaughn. 5-17 at the plate with 4 XBH (2 2B, 1 3B (!) and 1 HR) .313/.353/.750
  10. So just as an FYI we do have a separate forum for trade ideas/rumors and there has been quite a bit of chatter about this over there if you were curious what many posters have been thinking...
  11. This would be my decision as well. Knock on wood but wait for the next injury to someone for Perkins to make his season debut.
  12. That's as good of a shortstop play as you can make. Holy buckets Joey. Also, don't look now but Ortiz is sniffing .200 at the plate. Rising tides..
  13. Reminder Collins was a minor league Rule 5 snipe by our scouting department years ago. Never stop digging for gems, no matter the avenue.
  14. I agree 100% about Mona and Cameron ... Perkins is the curious one. Him being a question mark coming off of injury - you would have to think Collins keeps his spot over him until further notice. When Mitchell is back I would think Daz will be down.
  15. Collins is really growing on me. His line today will say 0-1 with a BB and run scored but he has seen 15 pitches. He generally puts together great at bats.. if he can hit a tick more he will make others expendable. Super useful player.
  16. In a vacuum, the major league staff went from Civale -> Miz and the minor league 1b depth went from Clarke -> Vaughn... so we improved both spots.
  17. Wes Clarke gets a new home as a byproduct of Civale's unhappiness. No word on the return yet .. likely cash or a PTBNL of some kind.
  18. Wow, what a list to look over. You know, I forget the stat exactly.. but when Burnes and Woodruff both arrived on the scene the Brewers broadcast put out a stat of the most wins by a homegrown pitcher in Brewers history and Manny Parra was really high on the list ... which more so was stating how badly we have produced home grown pitching in our team's history.
  19. The amazing thing about this interaction from a psychological standpoint is I'm certain you have interpreted this thread as "they all said Brady House is going to bust" and have assigned a group think reply to everyone here. So if he gets off to a good start you almost assuredly will come back here to tell us the vision you had for one of baseball's top 100 prospects and how wrong we all were.
