  1. I think the benefit of giving your first round pick a legit chance is way more important than getting a few more wins to secure the 8th seed, or even just moving up to the 7th seed. It's not often you find a player like Tobias Harris, he is a very natural scorer who has very good size and athleticism, and is a super hard worker, that has very good character. I usually try to look at the bright side of things, but in my opinion there was zero bright side to that trade.
  2. The worst part is guys like Marquis Daniels were getting minutes ahead of him. They are a tough team to be a fan of.
  3. Juan Rivera just released by the Yanks. Maybe he could come in and play 1b and be the 5th OF when Hart comes back?
  4. I hope Fiers wins the spot over Narveson. I really liked Fiers last season, and I think he's a better pitcher than Narveson. Does Narveson have any options left? Otherwise I'd be fine w/ him as the long man.
  5. Just saw in the recent jsonline article about Lohse, the opening series will be Gallardo, Estrada and Peralta. So I think the 5th starter is down to Fiers and Narveson.
  6. Any interesting 1b/OF veterans out there that might get released, or available for trade? I'm not confortable at all w/ Sea Bass as our starting 1b. If Hart misses a whole month I think it could come back to bite us.
  7. I'm becoming less and less of a Geoff Cameron fan, especially at outside back. I realize a good portion of the outside backs on the roster were hurt, but wow is he dreadful going forward. Made me really miss Cherundolo. I think last night showed how much they miss Donovan's speed and creativity on offense. The couldn't seem to get much going. Overall, I'm happy to get the point, and get the heck out of there, but it's been tough to watch US play lately, they seem to be very unorganized.
  8. I bet we do. Just seems like an obvious DM move.
  9. Hopefully this works out well, then people will stop comparing every free agent to Jeff Suppan. I know he has had an up and down career, but hopefully he can continue to put up close to the same numbers he has the last 2 seasons. Now that we did this, I really hope we bring in a better option to start at first for the beginning of the season. Whoever said they will boo him even if he wins a cy young, I hope I never sit next to you at a Brewer game. .
  10. Just to be clear, that's what TH is hearing, nothings official yet.
  11. From what I've read, it sounds like Figaro has a good chance to make the final roster. Not sure how I feel about that, but he has had some decent numbers in the minors and in Japan, so I'm not totally against it.
  12. I have zero interest in Jacobs, and Jon Garland doesn't really make much sense either.
  13. I'm ok w/ Fiers as the 5th starter. I just hope if any of the young guys fail, they won't be afraid to utilize either Hellweg, Burgos or Thornburg.
  14. Why not? For a team like the Padres who aren't contending, why wouldn't they take a chance on Mark Rogers, especially when Blanks is blocked at every position?
  15. Brad, thanks for sharing your first hand reports and pictures. It's been very enjoyable to read and see them.
  16. I just read an article that the Tigers are talking to a few teams about starting pitching. Would you offer Mark Rogers for Kyle Blanks? I think I would.
  17. It was cool to see 2 Wisconsin guys in Vander Blue and Jamil Wilson take over the game for Marquette. Amazing ending to that game. Hopefully they ride this wave, and start shooting better. I also thought Chris Otule played really well, and if weren't for him they would'nt have had any chance. Now hopefully Wisconsin can shut up Marshall Henderson today.
  18. I just read he has one option left, and w/ the injury issues they've been having w/ Quentin and Headley maybe they'll keep him around.
  19. What are the chances we trade for someone like Kyle Blanks? He has mashed his whole minor league career, but has had bad luck w/ injuries and is blocked in both LF and 1B. It sounds like he has done well in spring this year, but I'm not sure the Padres have room for him. How do I look up his options status? I think he'd be a perfect fit as a starting 1B until Hart comes back, and a 1b/LF/PH rh power bat after that. What do you think about trying to get him?
  20. I'd like to see the Brewers try to get Porcello from the Tigers. I'm not sure how much it would take to get him, but I'd offer Khris Davis and Mark Rogers, although it would probably take more to get him.
  21. I wasn't able to watch any of the WBC, but it's nice to see that Hiram Burgos pitched well. For those who watched him pitch, how did he look?
  22. I expect to see Hart extended, maybe something like 2 or 3 years for 10 million a year. He seems like he really wants to stay here, and he's been consistently good for the last 3 seasons.
  23. I realize there are a bunch of guys like Duffy, Almonte, Nelson and so on, but then there are cases like Mcgehee and Brady Clark. I'm not a huge fan of Lalli making the team out of spring, but I don't think of it as too big of a deal, especially w/ Hart hopefully coming back shortly.
  24. Lets go Bayern! Looking forward to some good matchups especially psg vs barca.
  25. Tristarscoop, did you get the tickets off of ticketmaster? If so, I just tried to get tickets but it says I need password, did that happen for you?:
