  1. I never understand what the point of posting something like this is. He was nice enough to do an interview for Brewerfan.net, and he will probably be posting here, which is a very cool thing. If I played in the MLB I would also be very proud of that, and would probably tell a lot of people. Do you really know Junior Spivey well enough to determine that he is not a cool dude?
  2. I liked McCarthy when he first came up w/ the Sox, but he has had a lot of injury problems w/ the Rangers. I wouldn't give up Hart for him. I don't see any way that Hart is non-tendered, I'm not sure why you keep saying that might happen.
  3. I think its too late to move Overbay to LF, I'm not sure if he could've ever made the move. I'd rather see them make a play for Conor Jackson from Arizona, he has at least played some LF.
  4. If you add his 20 playoff innings this season he was just under 200 innings. He also was at about 180 the previous season including the playoffs. I'm not too worried about his durability, he has been consistently at or over 200 innings for almost all of his career. I would love to have Lackey as our ace, he is a great pitcher.
  5. http://twitter.com/AdamMcCalvy http://milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20091109&content_id=7640930&vkey=news_mil&fext=.jsp&c_id=mil I think many on this site are big Heether fans, and will be happy to see this. It looks like he will get a shot at a bench role next season.
  6. I wouldn't exactly call acquiring Johan Santana and JJ Hardy getting rid of. Those are pretty significant trades.
  7. I'd like to sign Dye, and insert him in the 5 hole, but I'm not so sure he could handle playing in the OF everyday anymore. I know Melvin was interested in him before he signed w/ the White Sox a few years ago though. What makes you so sure he will sign w/ the Braves, or that Javier Vazquez is even available?
  8. I will give you a lot of money if that ever happens. Although I wouldn't count on it.
  9. I've always been excited about the Bucks, but it's very refreshing to see other people who typically don't follow them get excited also. I hope Jennings can help get the Bucks back to the level of interest they had in 01'. Milwaukee can definitely be a fun sports town if they latch onto a team.
  10. Does anybody know a good Twins forum? I'd like to hear their reaction, I'm guessing its the exact opposite of most people here.
  11. Do you think this is maybe a bit of an overreaction? We still have a very solid lineup, and Gomez and Escobar will improve us defensively. Lets wait and see what Melvin does w/ the pitching staff before giving up on Melvin.
  12. He sounds like a very exciting defensive player w/ amazing speed who hasn't figured it out at the plate yet, a lot like Escobar. Hopefully, both of them reach their upside w/ the Brewers, and become the special players that a lot of scouts have envisioned. I'm looking forward to seeing them become cornerstone players w/ the Brewers. Does anybody have any good scouting reports on him?
  13. I'm shocked that we didn't get pitching for Hardy, but he has to have some big upside if he was the main guy in the Johan Santana deal, right?
  14. YostInfection is connected! Nice work.
  15. I've also heard that Tim Jarmusz is going to have a bigger impact this season, apparently he was playing w/ a bad groin injury last season, and that limited his athleticism a lot. I'm excited about both Marquette and UW this season. Both teams have a lot of newer players that will be very fun to watch.
  16. I've always really liked Conor Jackson as a hitter, he has good OBP skills and a little pop in his bat. If the D-backs are planning on getting rid of him, he would be a great buy low candidate. The only question is if he would be a liability in LF, or if Braun would be able to make the switch to RF. I also wouldn't mind getting Navarro as our everyday catcher, although I don't think the D-Rays will be giving up on him yet.
  17. The Dodgers just declined Jon Garland's option, I'd be happy if he was brought in at a reasonable rate. I think he is a solid, reliable #3 or #4 starter.
  18. I wouldn't mind if Gomez was included in a deal. Although, I have a hard time believing that the Brewers will settle for anything but pitching for Hardy, since he is probably their biggest trade chip.
  19. Colby, I agree that there are a number of high risk/reward type pitchers out there that I really hope that Melvin pursues. Although, I'm not sure I want a character like Brett Myers on our roster. I don't like some of the things that he has done in his past. I do like a number of other guys like Duchsherer, Sheets, Bedard, Big Unit, Smoltz, Escobar and Harden. I also find it interesting that you think it would take Fielder to acquire a Buchholz type talent. Since I value your opinion, I'd love to hear what type of pitcher you think we could get for Hardy, Hart, Gamel and McGehee type players. I was under the impression that Hardy and Gamel would've been enough to get Buchholz.
  20. The could just put Teahen at 3rd, that is his original position.
  21. Last night's game was very frustrating, I didn't like how Skiles pulled Jennings in the first quarter just as he was starting to catch fire. I thought he had some weird subbing patterns going. To be fair Gobias, Ersan looked very good in the Detroit game. I think it's going to take him some time, but he will eventually be a solid rotation player.
  22. Michael Redd is out for at least 2 weeks after reinjuring his knee trying to dunk the ball on a layup. Yes, he has done this before.
  23. Harden did go 6+ innings in 15 of his 26 games last season, and 14 out of 25 in 08', which isn't that bad. I like him more than a lot of FA's because when he is healthy, like Sheets, he is an ace pitcher. He has had 140+ innings the last 2 seasons, I think he would be a great guy to take a chance on, and a good fit w/ Rick Peterson.
  24. The only thing I was talking about was the lady calling him Brad Jennings. That seemed like a big mistake for the guy who they are building there whole marketing campaign around. I thought it was a nice gesture, but I'm not sure if doing it on opening night was the best idea. It reminded me a of a high school teams introductions.
