  1. Some talk on XM Homeplate about the Jays having a few OF they are looking to trade, so they'd probably start there and try not to trade prospects. It would be sweet to be able to get a solid C prospect though for once.
  2. Cappy before the All Star break Bush after
  3. You can get both James Loney and Matt Kemp later in your drafts and they will both be studs If you are looking for someone like Braun who didn't start the year on the roster then got called up I would say Balentin with Seattle and Carlos gonzalez with the A's are your men. If they get at bat they will be ROY contenders IMO
  4. True I'd probably add Lohse to the SP. I think teams ae doing the right thing by not going after guys like these and instead letting younger players get aB/innings. Plus, they are cheaper.
  5. My post is a hell of a lot less crazy then every single trade proposal people post involving these two pitchers.
  6. Unless some team is really in need of SP they will be with the Brewers and even if we do trade them the Brewers are not going to get much for them.
  7. I guess I am in the minority that I think the Cards could as easily finish in 3rd as in last(Note: I do live in STL). I think after the Cubs and Brewers none of th eremaining 4 are that much better then the others: Houston has almost zero pitching, the reds have Dusty Baker, and the Pirates are the Pirates. I am actually kind of looking forward to watching some of these guys who have had limited opportunities in the past play. Their Rule 5 pickup barton has looked real good, I like Ryan at SS or 2B, I think Yadier will continue to improve at the plate, their bullpen is very good and I think LaRussa finds a way to get the best out of the talent he has even if it is limited. Pujols will need sugary sometime but it would be a bad decision to get it done until he completely tears it. Their SP is absolute garbage though and Crpenter won't be back till at the earliest August.
  8. Stewart is actually considered a disappointment and is likely a Four A ballplayer.
  9. What are you looking for Are you looking for any of the mini Brewers?
  10. Right now I think they are waiting for injuries to happen. There will always be a handful of pitchers on contenders that go down and when that happens you can usually score some good prospects for mediocre pitching.
  11. Saw this on fanball. While I think it would be a good pickup I don't think it would have that huge of an impact. The must really feel Pie is a Four A ballplayer.
  12. Picked it up a few days ago and love it. It is about a million times better then The Bigs
  13. I'd wait on closers the top 4 closers went for $20+ the rest went for 1-8. I could have gotten 3 mediocre closers for the price of K Rod and who knows how well any of them will do. One year a closer could have 40 saves the next 20.
  14. Beckett isn'ta good guide to value since you will never see anything actually sell for Beckett value. Ebay is th ebest way to find value because it is exactly what the card will go for on an open market so it is exactly what it is worth. Also, like someone said there are so many jersey cards out there that Beckett value really means nothing. Great looking card though
  15. I wasnt too high on Abreu either but he does well in in all categories and has a high OBP and not too many OF offer that.
  16. Well just had my auction yesterday. I like my team but don't love it, but I feel I have sold reliable veterans and a couple of future prospect to keep. I got stuck on a few players I really didnt want and felt I overrpaid for them. This is a 12 team league head to head, 1st year of a 4 year keeper league with a $275 cap. We use the basic 5x5 except we use OBP instead of AVg. C Brian McCann $14 1B James Looney $12 2B Aaron Hill $1 SS Orlando Cabrerra $4 3B AROD $45 really didn't want him, don't know why I bid on him but hey I have the best player in the league OF Ichiro $28 OF Bobby Abreu $19 OF Hunter Pence $19 UT Konerko $11 - didn't really want him but he is my only strictly power guy so I don't think he'll hurt. P Erik Bedard $23 P Gagne $8 - overpaid big time P Aaron Harang $17 P Tim Hudson $6 P Ubaldo Jimenez $4 P Scott Kazmir $15 P Fransisco Rodriguez $20 - overpaid P Carlos Villanueva $1 P Adam Waingwright $4 Bench 2B/SS Ryan theriot $1 OF Wladamir Balentien $1 OF Jacoby Elsbury $7 OF/3b Bill Hall $3 OF Willy Mo Pena $1 OF Colby Rasmus $5 P Scott Baker $1 P Sean Marshall $1 P Brian Wilson $2 P Chris Carpenter $2
  17. If he stays healthy I don't see why he couldnt. He has something to prove this year.
  18. Another player who found his power at the end of his career while chasing a record.
  19. I could be wrong but didnt Turnbow and Brady Clark also get contract extensions?
  20. With the Brewers luck with contract extensions I'd probably give them a year or two before offering a longer deal.
  21. Good Let the media hype up the Cubs as the favorite put all the pressure on them and set them up to fail.
  22. Agreed completely there ae tons of great breeders, the problem is there are tons of horrible breeders especially in very rural areas. The best thing to do is do research if you are going to get from a breeder. Also, I'd say the number one thing to do is ask to see the parents and see were the dog has been since birth. My dog as a child was from a breeder and the one I have now is from the Humane Society and both are/were great dogs. Either way you have to be careful.
  23. My girlfriend works for the St. Louis Humane Society (they are all independent of each other) and after the stories I've heard I would never buy an animal from a pet store. She does PR so she goes on a lot of the rescues and works with the media. Every rescue they go to the dogs/cat were being sold to brokers who sold them to Pet stores. Most are inbred and were bred in terrible conditions. There are exceptions of course my sister has a dog from a pet store that is completely healthy with no problems for 7 years. Even before I knew all that stuff personally I would rather get one from a shelter. I love my Basset Hound Cooper who we got from a shelter. If you go to a Humane society to look at dogs try to go when they open on a weekend and try to talk to the dog walkers. They usually know the dogs a little better and are much more helpful in recommending or talking about specific traits of how a certain dog acts.
  24. I am in an auction keeper, and another head to head Would be up for a Brewerfan.net league though, would be willing to commish
  25. The Cardinals and the post dispatch really don't get along at all. Larussa criticized them last year over a Cubs piece, which was terrible and embarrassing, and they've been at odds ever since. Pujols doesn't really talk to them either. For being a great baseball city the sports media here is absolutely terrible and will take any shots at the Cardinals when they can.
