  1. I'd bet Orioles fans are excited about the signing. They at least have a small core of talent that is locked up for a few years.
  2. I like it, but I'd like it more if Gallardo sat out. It seems to be very popular prety much everywhere but here in the States.
  3. Heard that they will probably play him at 1B They have been shopping Johnson and well there is also a very good chance Johnson will miss a significant portion of th eyear anyways.
  4. He is probably overrated by Brewer fans and a little underrated by most other baseball fans. There are just so many great SS in the league right now that he probably gets forgotten by some.
  5. They could have released him the day after their season ended and he still wouldn't have a job. The guy has been flat out terrible and there are much better 2B options out there that haven't been signed. I know it is easy to blame LaRussa but both Kennedy and Rolen were not his fault. Say what you will about LARussa but most of these "feuds" are because he benches players that are not playing well and are hurting the team. Kennedy complained all last year because he was splitting time with someone who was playing better baseball. I'd think with all the Weeks complaining on here people would get this.
  6. I've seen a handful of Escobar balls at a Buy it Now price of around $25 on ebay.
  7. I remember reading about the Cards looking to trade him, but they couldn't find anyone to take him. "He has been nothing short of terrible since joining the Cardinals.
  8. They just bought all his arbitration years, no FA years
  9. The Flanagan ball is gone
  10. After the offer post above I'd have to say I agree and will just edit the first post and add prices.

  12. Got my items a couple of days ago. They look great and thanks for the quick shipping.
  13. Sounds like a pretty sweet ball. How much was he asking for?
  14. completely agree Blylevan compiled solid numbers because he played 22 years, if there was a hall of longevity he'd be in. Also, I know most people don't think All star games mean anything but Blylevan was picked 2 times to pitch in the all star game by coaches and his peers. To me that says he was not a dominant pitcher in his time. Sure he was a good pitcher for a long time but not a Hall of Famer in my opinion.
  15. Do you mean when the Twins released him and he signed with the Sox for a little over a million.
  16. Baseball is competitive without a salary cap. There could be a salary cap and the Pirates and Royals would still stink because they make terrible decisions. The only thing I would love to see capped is draft pick signing bonuses because it is really crappy that the best players slide down to teams just because the teams that need the player won't sign them. Big Free Agent signing rarely win World Series anyways. Really in the past 5 years how many teams have not been in any sort of playoff race?
  17. I love how Escobar is overrated now. The guy has had 4 major league at bats lets just see how good he is before we even start to bash him.
  18. I would love to see the brewers sign Miles. Living in St. Louis I watch about 80% of their games and I've always liked the guy. He can play pretty much any position(even pitch) and is a solid switch hitter coming off the bench. I don't have the stats to prove it so I may be wrong but it always seemed like he came up with a clutch hit.
  19. I'd hardly say Mattingly is overrated. For a period of time he was absolutely one of the best 1B at the plate and even more in the field and then he got hurt. Does he belong in the Hall, no even as a fan I can't say he should. I don't know of too many people who think he should be in the Hall but they still think he was a great player before he got hurt. There are a lot more overrated players that come to mind that are in the Hall or will be in the hall cough Biggio cough. Personally I don't think anyone who is considered "Borderline" should be inducted. Either you were a HOF player or you aren't and if you've been on the ballot more then a couple of years obviously to me you shouldn't be in otherwise you might as well turn Cooperstown into the joke that Canton is.
  20. I'd rather them sign Russ Springer who is a FA rather then those two guys
  21. Just Rickey IMO The one thing that makes the baseball hall of fame great is that it only inducts the absolute best unlike the others. Yeah a few of those guys were really good players but not great.
  22. I think LaRussa and Cooper did a much better job managing the talent on their team. Neither of those teams should have been competitive.
