The arena club commercial whenever the guy says Jeter all I hear is Cheater. But then again I would annoy my friend who is a Yankees fan when I would call him Derek Cheater.
Sure better but is he that much better that you would give up a prospect for him? My answer is no. He is not that much better where he helps the Brewers beat the Dodgers or any other NL playoff team.
The Twins bought at the deadline. Why would they sell a piece that has been productive for them? They were also only a few games behind the Rangers for the last WC spot and only a few games behind the White Sox.
You would have had to give up someone like Vaughn to get Clemens or subtracted from the bullpen. The Twins were not going to trade him for a prospect.
I don't believe the magnet schedule exists for the 1994 season. The only mention is of a pocket schedule and no magnet schedule. The media guide for that year would confirm if there is or isn't one.
But if there is one and you can't find it on ebay or any other auction site your best bet is probably what I suggested previously.
Made is not on the 40 man so there is a very small chance he will even get added. Add in the possibility of a lockout and 40 man players not being able to play in the minors if there is a lockout there is probably a less than 0% chance Made gets added to the 40 man and gets added to the team.
My guess here is if you do this with the Braves starting from ‘91 you might find some similarities. But it would be hard to have 10+ years of success like the Braves did from ‘92 to 2006.
More info coming out on the Brewers offer for Skubal and they had multiple. One offer for sure had Pena and Frias in it. Another offer had Jett Williams in it and another offer that had pitching prospects in it. It was not a lack of trying by the Brewers front office. The only offer that could have beaten the Dodgers offer would have been a Made and Pena offer.
That would have been an asinine offer. I am glad the FO didn’t go full stupid on a Skubal offer. It also explains the price on May and Romero.
I liked the new Spider-Man movie. It wasn’t preachy or talking down to you which was good. The writing for the villain was lacking though. The actress did a great job but her lines that were written wasn’t the greatest. It seems as though they didn’t know what to do with her. The villain is no surprise and they wrote her more like Magneto than Jean Grey.
If they were going to do that then they should have used Lorna Dane aka Polaris. I get why they chose Jean she is a more recognizable character. Just the writers here had no clue on how to write for Jean Grey. They wrote it more for Polaris than Jean Grey.
Per the rumors it was the Dodgers, Rays and Brewers who submitted offers. The Rays offer I haven’t seen anything. One of my contacts also said the Braves had an offer out but no names that they can release.
They sent him to the wrong minor league affiliation. They need to fix his delivery and work on getting it consistent. He should have gone down to the AZ complex to work on that in the pitching lab. I understand they want to keep building his innings but his mechanics have been out of sync for a while now. That needs to be fixed first IMO.
