  1. The other large market teams were not happy about the Dodgers deferring money on the Ohtani deal. I think with this Tucker deal something will get changed on the deferred money and the luxury tax. Teams will still be able to do the deferred money but how it is handled in the luxury tax will change. I wouldn't be surprised if the luxury tax is changed completely. There still won't be a salary cap like in the NFL as there are not enough owners in favor to get that passed but that may change if the east coast teams get hit with less TV money but I doubt that will happen as most of the large market east coast teams own their TV rights and either fully own or partially own the broadcasting stations. A salary cap won't work because of the TV revenue being what it is. MLB would have to own all of the TV rights for a salary cap to work. I think MLB will instead of instituting a salary cap will do something closer to what the NBA is doing. The MLB has already started this with the luxury tax on teams that go over the spending. The tax just needs to be more than money. I have said this before but going over the tax needs to have more punishments to the team. Something like removing international free agent bonus money. For example if a team goes over the first apron they only have 50% of their international free agent bonus money. If they go over the second apron they only receive 10% of their international free agent bonus money. The same with the draft if they go over the first apron their first pick in the draft becomes a 3rd round pick. If they go over the second apron their first pick in the draft becomes a 6th round pick. Some other penalties would be a team over the 1st apron can not offer a qualifying offer to their own free agents. Something revolving around trades could also be done. Also if a team over the first apron signs a qualifying offer FA then they lose their 3rd round pick. If the team is over the 2nd apron or the signing takes them over the 2nd apron their first pick will be after round 10 of the MLB draft. The team losing a QO player gets a pick after the 1st round of the draft if they are under the 1st apron. In order for the players to accept this a salary floor would have to be implemented as the owners are not going to share revenue with the players. A salary floor starting at $100mm in 2028 sounds fair to me and this number would increase based on revenue. The salary floor couldn't go lower than $100mm and can only increase depending on revenue. For MLB to lower the floor revenue information would have to be shared to prove the lowering with the players union.
  2. I didn't even notice this on this play. Kmet was the right tackle on the Bears last TD.
  3. Ranger Suárez to the Red Sox That eliminates Boston as a Peralta trade destination. Down to the Mets, Dodgers, Padres and mystery teams now.
  4. He is 34 years old he is not going to get better defensively and will regress. If he was at -3 last year would you expect that to be lower or higher next year?
  5. He is not good enough defensively to be the main 3B. The Brewers believe in having a strong defense which would be lowered by having Suarez at 3B. Unknown at 1B defensively but I really believe that Suarez at this point in his career is a DH only. It doesn’t make any sense to add a second DH only player at a high salary. If you want to add Suarez you have to trade Yelich first.
  6. I can’t really think of anything that has changed recently that is a negative. The game times are now under control and the game is now actually watchable.
  7. I would say yes. I think the Yankees pivoted from Peralta to Weathers once they found out the Brewers asking price.
  8. Yankees trade for Weathers. This may eliminate the Yankees from the Peralta sweepstakes.
  9. He would have to be a DH and the problem with that is Yelich is the primary DH. So there really isn’t a spot for him on the team currently as it is constructed.
  10. The answer is yes but also no and it could also be maybe.
  11. Right now it is down to the Mets, Blue Jays and Dodgers for Tucker. The Cubs have been out for a long time on Tucker like end of game 5 of the NLDS out.
  12. Fiber optic is so fragile. All it takes is someone with a shovel to hit the line and it is dead. Also they don’t tend to bury these lines all that deep.
  13. As a Bears fan I wish but there is no way they are getting out of the NFC. Maybe they steal one more game but the defense is going to doom them at some point. Offensively I think the Bears will be fine there really isn't a team other than the Seahawks that have a defense that will be a problem for the Bears. Maybe the 49ers if they were healthy. Rams in Chicago next week should be interesting. If the Rams play like they did against the Panthers a team they should have easily destroyed the Bears may move into the NFCCG. I think the Seahawks will beat the 49ers and then win the NFCCG against either the Rams or Bears.
  14. Bregman will also more than likely be injured for most of those 5-years. Probably only gives the Cubs 3 full seasons worth of playing time.
  15. 21-3 at halftime and you lose? The fake team was and are the Packers.
  16. Not enough going to Boston. Duran has more value than Peralta and adding Koenig doesn’t get close enough to filling that gap. You would have to add in a prospect like Pena in the deal for this to make sense for the Red Sox.
  17. For Twitch there is nothing you need to do. The only thing you will want to do is disable or hide the chat.
  18. I wonder if UW said F it if everyone else is going to bend the rules then we will to.
  19. Not sure what the infatuation is with Dominguez is but he is not someone I would give up anything extra for. He looked promising early on but now not so much. I don’t believe the Yankees are a good trade partner as I don’t like any of their prospects. Lagrange has a lot of control issues. I wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up as a reliever instead of a starter.
  20. Should change the title of this thread to Brewers cancel deal with Fan Duel Sports.
  21. Stop teasing!
