  1. Unsignable in terms of the Pirates would have had to give him #1-5 pick money. That is going to be a rather high signing bonus for Bell but he is definitely worth it. I wish the Brewers would have taken him with their first pick and then tried to sign him that would have been great as he is probably going to be one of the better players in this draft.
  2. No. I would rather have Lopez at 2B when a lefty is pitching and having Hairston play CF than having Hairston play 2B and Morgan/Kotsay in CF. If Gomez was back then yes Hairston should be playing 2B when a lefty is pitching.
  3. If the Brewers win 19 more games which means they have to go 19-21 the rest of the way to get to 90 wins which should win the division as it is going to take the Cardinals going 25-15 to get to 90 wins. I don't believe the Brewers will only win 19 more games the rest of the way. 22-18 is probably more realistic which gives the Brewers a 92 win season and they clinch the division at home against the Marlins on Sunday September 25th. Which allows the Brewers to have their rotation go on regular rest in the playoffs.
  4. McCutchen is a great player but he is not having an MVP like year. Maybe if there wasn't another player playing as good as he is then yes like in 89' when Yount won the MVP. I just don't see how McCutchen is more deserving over Fielder, Upton, Braun, Berkman, and Kemp. To me Fielder, Upton, Braun, and Kemp are all having a better year than McCutchen is having and I really like McCutchen but it is a very long stretch to put McCutchen in the running as the MVP. For me it goes Fielder, Kemp, Upton, and Braun for the top 4 and that is a very very very close top 4 with any one of the top four winning the MVP award. McCutchen would be tied for 5th with Berkman and McCann. I just do not see how you can place McCutchen over any of the top four right now overall I believe the top four are having a better year than McCutchen.
  5. This series feels like the '08 series against the Cardinals.
  6. So I take it you hate Morgan and Braun also. no. i don't think braun ever goes nutso like that, screaming like a madman. and morgan is a quirky kind of nuts haha. semantics maybe.Oh yeah Braun does do that. Also Lawrie was playing for his favorite team and his home country that adds some special meaning to him. I don't see anything wrong with what he did maybe you like players to be robots and show no emotion but most people do not like that. I swear some fans in baseball want players to act like robots and show no emotion what so ever because that is how baseball is supposed to be played. When in baseball was there ever no emotion ever? Some baseball traditionalists, not saying that you are, forget about Ruth and others who did more showboating than any of the players today do.
  7. So I take it you hate Morgan and Braun also.
  8. No he is not, he made an error which happens sometimes, he just picked a bad time for it. He occasionally makes great catches and occasionally makes great throws which many outfielders cannot sayBraun is horrible at judging a ball at all in the OF unless it is hit right at him. He has horrible foot work in the OF when it comes to throwing out a runner.
  9. Braun has to be playing 1B next year. He is absolutely the worst OF regular in MLB.
  10. Kind of stupid especially for a laptop as they will be so far behind in technology you will probably be wanting to replace it within a year or two. I put the cut off for a laptop at the $400 mark if you want it to last longer than 2 or 3 years. The one I linked to would last around 3 or 4 years as long as you are not doing anything that will cause a lot of stress to the laptop for example playing video games on it. It will probably last around 4 or 5 years for what you are looking to do with it. I am not sure about older Mac's where you could buy one.
  11. If you look at what really helped increase the talent level of our system it was a lot of the HS and international signings. Manny Parra was a high school draft pick. If you are talking about potential which is completely different than talent, then yes the Brewers did do that earlier. The Brewers do not need to be drafting just high school players they need to go back to just drafting the best player available regardless of if they are a high school player or a college player. CJ Cron would be the Brewers best power hitter right now if they would have drafted him instead of who they drafted this year. Cron may have been the best player available at the time the Brewers were picking. But that maybe to early to tell right now but Cron is just killing the ball in rookie ball right now.
  12. A laptop that will last? How long are you looking for the laptop to last? I like HP, Dell, and Sony for laptops the best are Mac's but those are extremely out of your price range. This is a good laptop but a little bit over your price range.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834157822
  13. What bat? If he were to replace Counsell sure that would be OK but anyone else no thanks. Overbay can play 1B and that is it and I will take Kotsay over Overbay. At least Kotsay can play in the OF while Overbay can not.
  14. What I am looking for is success of a batter who swings at the first pitch >35% of the time versus a batter who swings at the first pitch <35% of the time. I know the more pitches a batter will see the greater the chance there is a pitcher making a mistake pitch. What I would really like to prove is that there is really no difference between swinging at the first pitch versus taking the first pitch.
  15. The only candy is in the van. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_wZkgTL18Qh4/Ss1T2AXk5HI/AAAAAAAAAbo/aKTGCkeJhwg/s400/original-creepy-van.jpg I like this one better. http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRWnNw-qquLVgc-YyLbvfN23H9FyYXyDr3u-FuJ-71yWqXOVtERkQ
  16. Replacement for Joe Buck found! Not sure I should put that in blue or not.
  17. Obvious adds to the 40 man and Sept callups would be Green being added to the 40 man and being called up in Sept as he will need to be protected from the rule 5 draft especially after this season. Gamel will also be up in Sept along with Maldonado (3rd catcher), Farris, and a few pitchers will also be called up not sure on who yet.
  18. Cards (3) (2-1)@Astros (3) (2-1)@Cards (3)(1-2)Pirates (3)(3-0)Dodgers (4)(3-1)@Mets (3)(1-2)@Pirates (4)(2-2)Cubs (3)(3-0)Cards (2) (1-1) That gives the Brewers a record of 18-10. The Cardinals, Pirates, and Mets road games could be where this month is won or lost. I am just hoping the Brewers bats can wake up on the road and start hitting regularly on the road if not it could be a 15-13 record for the month of August. Going to be a tight race coming down to the final weeks of September.
  19. I am not sure anyone knows really well at least 100%. I have heard that the player has to pass through the league that they are in first and then it goes by record after that for the next league. So if someone from the AL went through waivers they would first have to pass through waivers through every AL team and then an NL team would be able to select them. This is where I get lost in it some say it goes by the current record of the clubs and some say that it is the record from the previous year. I have no idea how the waiver wire deals work and some GM's are uncertain on it also along with the so called experts. But the rules in terms of how to acquire the player are: The team may retract the player, trade the player, or let the claiming team take on the contract. I believe this is how Rios was acquired by the White Sox.
  20. It feels weird cheering for the Cubbies (I just threw up in my mouth a little there). Hopefully the Cubs can hang on another inning and win against the Perfectly Classy Team.
  21. You should not try understand GM Ed Wade makes you go mad.
  22. I am going to go with unlikely on that trade I have a feeling the Brewers are one of the teams that Barmes is not available to.
  23. I believe the Phillies will have another year of control of Pence.
