    No GM in their right mind would ever think about trading for McGehee and playing him at 2B. McGehee is just not healthy or athletic enough to play 2B and right now with McGehee he is either a 1B or a 3B. This is why I see the Angels as being a perfect fit for McGehee.

    What does that have to do with anything? Gomez was traded for Santana when he was in the minors. Is there a point to this?

    I would rather the Brewers sign Vazquez over Sheets if the Brewers do sign a free agent this upcoming off season. I would really prefer if the Brewers do not sign any free agent starting pitcher though.

    I didn't say to trade McGehee re read what I wrote. McGehee would be more of a fit for the Angels than Fielder would be. That doesn't mean McGehee would be traded or is being suggested to be traded.

    Bush and Edmonds make no sense for the Rays. Why would the Rays replace Upton with Edmonds? Gomez would make more sense and Davis is not enough for Fielder. If the Rays are not interested in trading Hellickson then I would take Davis but Colome/Moore would also have to be in the deal. A trade of Fielder and Gomez for Davis, Colome, and Upton would be fine. Upton and Gomez would be just a swap with Fielder returning Davis and Colome. That would give the Brewers a future #1 or ace in Colome and a #2 or a solid #3 type pitcher in Davis. The Brewers would probably have to pay all of Fielder's salary this year and a portion of it next year the more the Brewers pay of Fielder's salary for next year the bigger the return the Brewers could get from the Rays. As for the Angels I think McGehee matches up better for them than Prince does. McGehee is more along the style of play that the Angels play and I don't see the Angels really giving up any of their top talent to acquire anyone that would require some top talent and Trout is untouchable the Angels have said that he is not available though that just may well be GM talk.

    Hall would be nice to have on the bench right now though. I would take Hall over Counsell if they were at the same price. Inglett and Hall on the bench would make for a very strong bench for the Brewers right now.

    I believe the Padres would be the most interested team in Bush but there are better options out there but cost wise for a prospect Bush will probably be the cheapest option available. The Padres are going to start to shut Latos down for a bit to keep his IP down so the Padres are going to be looking to add another starter to their rotation though the Padres really need a bat more than a starting pitcher. The only other team I can think of that would need another starter are the Phillies and the Red Sox and I'm not sure the Red Sox would really want to trade for Bush. I believe the Brewers could easily get a teams 30th to 40th ranked prospect for Bush or a AAAA type player.

    The Marlins were rumored to be shopping Johnson around this off season before they extended him for 4 years.

    I would have traded Gamel for Josh Johnson this off season if I was the GM. Though I believe the Brewers would have had to of added another piece to that deal though. Right now the best option is to keep Gamel.

    The Dodgers are still in financial limbo right now. Until MLB knows who is going to be owning the Dodgers I don't think they will allow them to add payroll to their team until that is settled.

    Butler, Rivas, and Rogers all could step in for either Davis or Narveson next year. I like Butler and Rogers more than Rivas though so the Brewers do have some prospects though these are more of a back of the end rotation starters. If the Brewers could get someone to stick between Gallardo, Parra, and Wolf and then put Butler or Rogers as the #5 starter I think the Brewers could be competitive next year. If the Brewers some how get Davis in a trade for Hart the Brewers could have a rotation of Gallardo, Parra, Wolf, Davis, and Butler/Rogers. If the Brewers trade Hart and they can only get some high upside A ball pitchers then it would depend on what the Brewers get for Prince in the off season. If the return for Prince doesn't bring back some MLB ready pitchers in the off season or during this season then you have to get pitchers who will be ready by 2012 or 2013 the latest. I would prefer to have prospects that would be ready by next year so the next wave of pitching prospects Odorizzi and Scarpetta will be able to fill in at the back of the rotation in 2012 and then be in the middle or top of the rotation in 2013. I really think 2012 and 2013 will be years that the Brewers will be rather competitive but that will all be determined on how well the pitching prospects the Brewers have develop.

    With Lebron gone in Cleveland does this make the Bucks the default #1 team in the Central? Also looking over the moves so far are the Bucks really a top 4 team in the East? Just looking at the East I think the Bucks are a top 4 team but it is hard to gauge since the Celtics are really old now and they may not be a top 4 team anymore in the East. I could see the Bucks being the 3rd best team in the East this coming up season but they could also be a #5 seed again in the playoffs.

    The Dodgers may still be in limbo in terms of their financial situation but Manny does come off the books after this year so that could be conceivable but I don't see the Dodgers trading for Fielder and having Loney on the team so either Loney is coming to Milwaukee or is traded to another team before that happens. I don't think Melvin trades Fielder to the Cubs though I think Fielder to the White Sox does make some sense though. The Mariners are intriguing but they may need to add some more pitching along with the bats that they need to compete in the AL West though that division isn't really all that good.

    It would help but not all that much. Back to the value of Prince I definitely see the Brewers trading Prince in the off season though. It looks as though Dunn may not be coming back with the Nationals next year so the Nationals maybe a possible trading partner though I'm not sure the Nationals really have the pitching the Brewers would be looking for. If Jordan Zimmermann didn't have TJ surgery then I believe he would have been a target for the Brewers in a trade with the Nationals. Right now I am not sure though if the Nationals would be a good fit prospects wise. It might be down to the Yankees, Red Sox, and the Giants in the off season as trading partners in a Fielder trade. I don't really see anyone that I like prospect wise from the Yankees and I am not sure the Red Sox will be willing to give up the prospects needed to make a Fielder trade with them work the same goes with the Giants.

    First base isn't really a big defensive position. I would rank defense very very low on the priority list for a first basemen. I always get a good chuckle out of people comparing one 1B to another 1B and I doubt the Yankees paid Teixeira for his good defense at 1B I doubt that was even a consideration at all.

    If the Brewers change managers it will be Valentine or Randolph who will get the job and my money is on Randolph being the guy the Brewers go with.

    No lineup is ever balanced and the Brewers really do not need a singles hitting switch hitter to "balance" out the lineup both Escobar and Gomez can do that. Cabrera is horrible he wasn't even getting the majority of the playing time when McClouth was playing really bad for the Braves in the beginning of the year. At best Melky is a 4th or a 5th outfielder not something you would trade Cameron for. Yes the Brewers got nothing for Cameron but the Brewers really didn't need to get anything for him. If the best the Brewers could have gotten for Cameron was a 4th or 5th outfielder then no thanks to that deal. The Brewers really are not short on OF talent in the minors either and if Cain wouldn't have gotten hurt last year the Brewers would have had him playing CF this year and Cain is ten times the player Melky will ever be or could be so that trade doesn't really make sense at all either in those terms. Melky doesn't do anything great while Gomez has great speed on the base paths and can steal more bases than Melky. Melky is fast but he is a horrible base runner and he is even worse at judging when to steal a base. Gomez is far better than Melky.

    Oh god not this again. The Yankees wanted the Brewers to pay some of Cameron's salary and Melky Cabrera is HORRIBLE. You want to talk about an over hyped Yankee prospect? Example number one is Melky Cabrera the guy is nothing more than a 4th or 5th OF and yet is glorified as an all star for some reason. Cameron for Cabrera would have been one of the worst trades in a long time and if Melvin would have done that trade he should have been fired on the spot for doing that. Lets put Melky in perspective here he is worse defensively than Gomez and he is probably going to be worse offensively than Gomez.

    That first game was the best game of that series with Jenkins robbing Jeter of a base hit in the top of the ninth. I believe that was the final out also.

    Having no interest in trading someone doesn't mean you won't listen to offers. Obviously if Melvin is blown away by someone for Weeks he would make the trade. That statement probably has more to do with there being very little interest in Weeks in the trade market.
