  1. I have an Ibanez and the only thing I play on it is Metal. When I feel like playing some Blues or some classic rock I use my Epiphone. The Ibanez really is a Metal only guitar I have a hard time tuning it for anything else but Metal.
  2. Just say no to Westbrook. I would rather see the Brewers resign Suppan than sign Westbrook.
  3. I would ask to see it first before buying or trading for it. I can't tell if it is a real Stratocaster or if it is knock off by the picture that is provided. Quick edit I think it says stratocaster on the top of the guitar. It should say Fender I believe and not stratocaster on it.
  4. This is funny too. Are you really telling me the 8 inning increase Rivas had this year over last year has caused the Brewers to decide to shut him down? 8 innings? Try again. Melvin himself stated they weren't bringing up Rivas because of this. Stating that the Brewers do not believe in monitoring a pitchers innings and having them shut down for the year is asinine. Obviously they don't do it for every player in Rogers case but it is something that the Brewers consider and it is done on a case by case basis.
  5. Exhibit A: Mark Rogers. I don't need to go any further. Exhibit B: Amaury Rivas shut down for the rest of the year due to high innings. I don't need to go any further.
  6. CJ Wilson as the main part of a trade is not a great idea. I wouldn't be mad if that is what the Brewers got as the main return but the Brewers better be getting back another prospect in return. I wonder if the Dodgers would do a deal of Billingsley and Loney for Fielder, Parra, Gomez, and Peralta/Braddock. I believe this deal would be rather fair value wise for the Brewers and the Dodgers. The Dodgers would receive the power bat that they would need to replace Manny. I am just not confident in the Dodgers trading Billingsley away without getting at least one prospect and that is why I added Braddock/Peralta to the deal. This would definitely fix the pitching problem for the Brewers and it would definitely fix the Dodgers problems of needing a power bat. This could also become a three team deal with Loney/McGehee going to another team for some other prospects going to the Brewers and the Dodgers that would remove Peralta/Braddock from the trade though. I could see a Rangers, Brewers, and Dodgers trade working out where the Rangers would receive Loney/McGehee and send Wilmer Font and Kasey Kiker to the Dodgers/Brewers. The Brewers get Billingsley and Font and the Dodgers receive Fielder, Parra, Gomez, Kiker, and a player to be named later. A rotation of Gallardo and Billingsley would be a good 1-2 punch for the next few years. I also believe the Dodgers would then resign Prince to a long term contract.
  7. While I think that is probable I think the Brewers will get at least a return like the Rockies got for Holliday.
  8. For one season of Holliday the Rockies got in return Greg Smith LHP, Carlos Gonzalez OF, and Huston Street RP. Now take into consideration that Fielder is a heck of a lot more valuable than Holliday was at that time. All it will take really is one team to get desperate for a bat and Melvin will be able to get the players he wants. Gonzalez is probably the biggest steal in that deal though. Melvin will probably get a deal that is a little bit better than what the Rockies got in return for Holliday. I believe that the Brewers will probably have to take back an older player and won't get two young ready starting pitchers to plug into the rotation for Fielder that deal was never available to Melvin and probably won't be this winter. If the Rays had more financial flexibility I believe they would be the team that would go after Prince but I just do not see them having that financial flexibility to do that nor the will to trade for Fielder. That leaves a few teams like the Red Sox, Mariners, White Sox, Dodgers, and Cubs that need a 1B/DH player.
  9. It is not just going from an HD feed to WMLW it is that their normal broadcast is just horrible. The sound is horrible and the picture quality seems like they are using technology from the 1970's to broadcast everything. It is horrible even compared to standard definition on any other channel.
  10. I believe that the return on the investment is just not there in Japan like it is in Latin America. It is going to cost more to scout in Japan than it would in the Dominican Republic, Cuba, Panama, Venezuela, Mexico, Puerto Rico, etc. While I would love for the Brewers to have a presence in Japan I just don't see the return on that investment being worthwhile. Something would have to be cut in the South America and Latin America budget and I just don't see the return on that investment being more than what would be invested into South America and Latin America. There are better options than Japan that the Brewers could explore like China, Russia, India, and Pakistan that could give you as much of a return on your investment as Japan would or even more.
  11. Open a baseball academy in China. The most untapped market though I am not sure how big baseball is over in China. I know basketball is big over there I'm just not so sure about baseball. I really believe the Brewers should just commit more resources to the D.R. than anywhere else. Japan is just way to expensive why buy one Bentley when you can buy 3 or 4 Mercedes?
  12. Rays, Braves, Mariners, Angels, Indians, Twins, White Sox, and the Tigers just to name a few that would need a 3B/DH type of a player.
  13. Funny stuff there I love the Cubs, Yankees, and Red Sox ones.
  14. I wonder how much of Parra being bad the last two years has to do with his ridiculously high BABIP. Manny really hasn't been hit all that hard this year with a 18 LD% on the year Parra also has a GB% of 46.5% and Parra has a BABIP line of .358. I'm not saying that Parra is perfect or that luck is the reason why he is bad but it is one of the contributing factors that he has been bad this year. I am also not convinced that Parra's 16.5% HR/FB rate is anything but a fluke. I am just wondering how much of this is bad luck and how much of this is because of the Brewers poor infield defense. I also believe that Parra physically is nothing more than a 6 inning pitcher or a 100 pitch pitcher whichever comes first. To me it looks as though once he gets into the later innings he looks rather tired and out of it. I believe the Brewers need to realize this and just settle with Parra being a #4 or a #5 pitcher in the rotation instead of hoping he turns into a #2 or #1 like pitcher.
  15. Still no news and the official 40-man still states that Bush is on the 40-man roster and no new news on anything if Bush has or hasn't been out righted yet.
  16. After thinking about this I believe the Brewers really should go the Mat Latos route. Put Odorizzi in high A to start out the year next year with him moving to AA sometime in the year and if he is doing good have him up in September and the skip AAA the year after and go straight to the majors. No need to waste a year of Braun and Gallardo with Odorizzi in AAA.
  17. Should the Brewers go the Gallardo route with Odorizzi and have him in Milwaukee in 2012 or should they take it easy with him and have him called up in September of 2012 and then in the rotation in 2013? Should the Brewers do what the Padres did with Latos and bring him up after about 1 year in A and AA? That would put Odorizzi with the Brewers at about the end of the 2011 season and then in the rotation in 2012 which would be about as fast as Gallardo went into the rotation with the Brewers if I remember correctly it actually may have been faster than that. Should the Brewers move Odorizzi along rather quickly and get him in the rotation by 2012 or should they move him along slowly and have him up in the majors by 2013 or later?
  18. What I would like to see is: NL East - Braves NL Central - Reds NL West - Padres WC - Phillies Braves over Padres Reds over Phillies Braves over Reds AL East - Yankees AL Central - Twins AL West - Rangers WC - Rays Twins over Yankees Rays over Rangers Rays over Twins Rays over Braves in 7 games. NL MVP Joey Votto and baseball Jesus finishes in a distant 2nd with Cardinals fans calling all the sports writers classless because of that.
  19. There is no need to replace Parra with Capuano. There is nothing to look at with Capuano. If anyone will be replacing Parra in the rotation it should go in order of Rivas, Butler, and then Rogers. Capuano should really just be released he doesn't really add anything to the team and he isn't young and has already gone through two Tommy John surgeries so I don't really see why Capuano should get a shot at the rotation. If the Brewers were contending right now sure give Capuano a shot but since the Brewers are not I would rather see someone who is going to be here long term a shot than Capuano.
  20. The Offspring - Ixnay on the Hombre.
  21. Might be a bad stick of RAM or something on the motherboard is dieing or the motherboard itself is dieing. Have you tried cleaning out the inside of the laptop? It might be overheating due to a lot of dust and other junk inside the laptop.
  22. I'm more fine with Capuano being released than giving him any shot at being a starter for the Brewers right now. I would rather see Parra, Narveson, Rivas, Butler, Rogers, etc. get a shot or stay in the rotation before Capuano is even mentioned as a possibility as being a starter. There is no need to "see what" Capuano can do because there is no future with Capuano in a Brewers uniform as a starter. I don't see Capuano being anything but a long reliever and that is it.
  23. Gomez is definitely the better player even with him not living up to all the tools he has.
  24. Another go around with this and this would be completely 100% fantasy video game trade mode: Prince, Coffey, and Gomez plus $9m (or half of Prince's salary whichever is greater) to the Rays for Garza, Upton, and Colome. Extend Garza at 5-years at $50m (I believe that buys out 2-years of free agency for Garza) that would be 2011 at $6m, 2012 at $8m, 2013 at $10m, 2014 at $12, and a team option for 2015 at $14m. Sign Dunn to a 4-year $60m contract. Trade McGehee and Villanueva to the Braves for J.J. Hoover and Cody Johnson. Starting Lineup: 1. Weeks 2B 2. Gamel 3B 3. Braun LF 4. Dunn 1B 5. Hart RF 6. Cain CF 7. Lucroy C 8. Escobar SS 9. Pitcher Rotation: Gallardo, Garza, Wolf, Rivas, Parra Bullpen: Axford, Hawkins, Braddock, Loe, Stetter, Rogers, and McClendon Bench: Kottaras, Dickerson, Inglett, Farris, and Cruz. I think that puts the Brewers somewhere around $90m. Definitely would be counting on Rivas, Gallardo, and Garza having good years. The bullpen would be rather cheap with Hawkins being the most expensive though. The Brewers also get a #3 or #4 type pitcher in the McGehee trade along with a #1 or an Ace type pitcher in Colome from the Prince trade. In reality I don't think the Rays accept that trade though. I went cheap for the bench and the bullpen because of the money being committed to Dunn and I really do not believe in committing all that much money to the bench. Probably not the greatest team but the Brewers should be rather competitive for the next few years with Gallardo and Garza at the top of the rotation.
  25. If you can move a player for cheap young starting pitching you move that player. As much as I like McGehee if a team offers a good young pitcher or a cost controlled pitcher for him I would take that deal. The Brewers need some good young pitching and if it means trading McGehee for it then you have to trade McGehee for that. The Brewers still do have some flexibility with Gamel, Lawrie, and Green in the minors to replace McGehee at 3B.
