  1. Nope. Need the lefty bat.
  2. Marquis and Piniero are not signicantly better than Looper. We do not need another fourth or fifth starter. Particularly not as long as we are still stuck with Jonathon Livingston Suppan's contract.
  3. I like it; he is better than Smith, Burns, Difelice, and Villy. Key is that we likely gave up very little and this was a salary dump for Cincy.....
  4. I like him, but we gotta trade Hardy for a solid starter. We are stuck with Hart unless he is packaged with Hardy for pitching. I do not like Hart in CF. Yes he is fast, but he is kind of a clod. Hart has the uncanny ability to miss catches by getting to the ball and letting it nick off the end of his glove. In other words, he routinely just misses making tough catches.
  5. A 25 year old LEFTY hitting third baseman that should hit .270 with 20 dingers? And who also looks like he can field the position? I will overlook the 140 strikeouts in his first 500 at bats.
  6. Trade Hart and Hardy for pitching. (Even though both have limited trade value compared to last winter.) Move Weeks to CF (where he should have been since day one as a pro!) or RF. Gamel at 3b, Casey at 2b. Escobar at 3b. Free agent for remaining outfield position.
  7. Holy Crap! That's alot of talent to give and alot of contract to take on for a guy who breaks down twice a summer!
  8. Correia is awful. Picture Suppan with worse control.
  9. Villaneuva is a barely average pitcher at best. The answer is not Villy or Dilly; the answer is how do we get some arms? Both in the bullpen and the starting rotation. Suppan, Villy, Dilly, Smith, Burns......these are the types we suffered through in the 90's!!!!!!!! Hoffman has been great, but he makes me extremely nervous with the strikout- walk- laser-beam out-pattern. He is not a closer for a contending team. Make a trade or pack it in for the year and make a trade this winter. Hardy and Hart must go for pitching, ASAP.
  10. Give them Hart for Kamir. Play Frankie the Cat in Right. Put Gamel in Right next year.
  11. Any talk of the Brewers getting Kazmir? Hart and prospects to the Rays in exchange for Kazmir and his contract?
  12. Qualls would help, but what would we give up? He has value in the current market. Davis is useless. Adding him might actually make our staff worse. Nice guy, but I cannot stand watching him pitch. Is there any talk of Kazmir? Send Hart and prospects to the Rays, while we assume Kasmir's contract.....
  13. Dillard should replace Narveson. What about Scarpetta or Braddock?
  14. I have been a big Hall (and Weeks) supporter, but it is time to convert him to a bench player. At this time, his greatest asset is his versatility: 3B, SS, 2B, OF. Haters must admit that he has greatly improved in the field at third. However, he just flat out cannot hit. I do not understand why he is so intent on working the count, his speed is negligible, so get up there and hack! Even when gets a favorable count, he regularly misses hittable pitches in the zone, then swings at crap and strikes out or grounds out to short. Start Gamel, Bill to the bench as a utility player.
  15. Ennder: Post 80 = exactamundo!
  16. Did you guys see his batting average with runners in scoring position so far this year? Ruthian! Need to move him down in the order. Also, Weeks has been hitting to right, which is a great sign. As for the power surge, he has always had the potential. Pretty soon, though, the opposition will quit throwing him fastballs, and go back to the low and away slider.
  17. At the break, if the Brews are still in the race and make a move for a pitcher, Suppan becomes the sixth starter and long relief mop-up guy. He is horrible.
  18. Bad throw, and clearly Hall's error, but should have been picked up by Prince. Prince seems to miss almost all of the tough bouncing throws.
  19. My point is that Bill is not kicking anything and he is making some very difficult plays. Gold glove comment was for glitter only. Last year, most were worried that he was a tin glove.
  20. Bottom line is that seems Macha seems like a manager who plays the percentages, while Yost made decisions with his gut.
  21. Bill has been spectacular in the field so far this year. So far, I have seen at least three web-gems; fielding a bunt then firing a dart to second to nab the runner; Diving stab then throwing from his knees to get the runner; the play down the line to temporarily preserve Bush's no-hitter. All three were late game situations. I do not think he has any errors, and I have only seen one missed play. Gamel better start working on chasing flies.
  22. Tough pitching on the road. Going west is always tough on the Brewers; then some tough losses against Cinci, and an Excellent Cubbie team at home; followed by a series against an excellent team, the Mets, on the road. Now the Phillies on the road. Who designed this schedule? Ron Santo?
