  1. Throw Riske into a trade with the Giants. They need some bullpen help too.
  2. Seems like its the kind of series that would get players traded.
  3. They won series against the Angels, Rockies and Dodgers off the top of my head.
  4. "Changing your swing with 2 strikes isn't Rickie's game. Rickie hacks with 2 strikes" - Chuckie'd
  5. I'll bet that scout meeting in St. Louis was to plan evaluations with probable or possible trade partners. What they really need is a public relations message to sell "the young team of the future" or something like that.
  6. I'd be interested in the ethical rule that was violated.
  7. Geezy, I don't think anyone is suggesting making Gennet a top SS prospect. I know I'm not. Its still worthwhile to have the ability to play SS if he is the eventual starting 2B. When the SS has an occasional off day, does a DL stint or whatever, its worth having someone to play competently. Counsell is pretty unique for a utility guy. The alternative for a lot of teams is often someone like Ronny Cedeno. The quote that keeps being given doesn't support the reasoning that he can't play SS as well. And to your point about everybody saying he can't play short, Iorg said he could. I don't count Kevin Goldstein as a scout either.
  8. Good catch Haas. It'd be nice to know how Gamel looks at the plate.
  9. I knew Ford was fast. When I read the headline, i thought it would be about some extraordinary stolen bases achievement.
  10. Here's a pretty long video with Cody Hawn, which I don't believe has been posted. http://utsports.tv/mens-sports/cody-hawn/
  11. Yes, his DL time is routinely cited in the total service time argument that is absolute proof that his handling was done in a completely inept fashion. You just ignored what I said about how he came up and started and reverted back to a total time argument. You and toolive can want him to get the Rickie Weeks treatment and be plugged in for years regardless of performance, but its not a slam dunk strategy. He could just hit now. That would solve a lot.
  12. Macha seems to be one of the most aggressive managers I've seen in playing younger and less experienced players. This entire thing is because of Gamel. The fact that Lucroy is the starting catcher, Ax is the closer and Braddock is getting big innings makes the claim that Macha's clubhouse is where prospects go to die unsupportable. Gamel came up and started a lot. He got regular playing time. I'm sure ten years from now we'll still be hearing about his OPS or whatever supports the argument that he was tragically screwed by the team. Regardless, hitting now would be nice.
  13. I can't see Escobar becoming more ready by going to AAA.
  14. Besides Rickie's HR, 3 Ks in the first. Are curveballs the new kryptonite?
  15. Bush had a single good start. He's been bad against the Twins. Macha is doing him a favor. Its as much as setting up LHers and RHers.
  16. Nice job by the Independent-Record there in Helena - game story, some pics and a video.
  17. The confusion is probably by the reporter rather than the doctor. A sports hernia includes problems with the inguinal canal.
  18. Does he come out and argue less? I thought the issue was that he didn't curse enough because in order to support his players he had to get run.
