  1. you might want to look into ING Direct. Their rates have basically been cut in half in the last two years, but you can still do a 6-month CD at 1.5%. Everything is done online, and if you open a savings account with $250 or more you get $25 free. If you decided to do it, PM me and I'll get $10 for referring you as well http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  2. I don't know....Keith IS in a monkey suit. Spotted Cow, please.
  3. I love my macbook. I have the basic 13" model with the new aluminum case. It's just so much more user friendly the mouse gestures make me do everything faster. I can't stand track pads on a PC, but the one on my macbook is super convenient. You'll have to get used to some things that are a bit different, but for your uses it should be pretty straight forward. Yes, it will be more expensive, but I bet it would last longer. Also, the battery life on both of my macbooks has been phenomenal. Show your student ID and you get a 10% at any Apple store on your macbook. Some college bookstores have apple stores in them, and they might throw in an ipod or something with a new macbook purchase. If you go with a mac, I'd recommend Apple Care. The 1 year warranty you automatically get covers everything, but by extending it for 3 years you know you'll always have a working laptop. Repairs are pretty quick too. And I, personally, see little to no use for tablet PCs that allow you to write on the screen. You would be able to type faster, most likely.
  4. Given that group tickets or single game seats aren't even on sale yet, this is pretty phenomenal, in my opinion. Brewers Press Release
  5. Did you REALLY just throw "blondes can't drive" into this thread? We're talking about drinking. Edit: took out excessive bold type
  6. Lots of ideas here: http://forum.brewerfan.net/search.php?keywords=312983
  7. With 4-10 inches of snow over 2 days. Great. On Thursday I'll be shoveling in 5 degree weather.
  8. Hawing, I got the same mailing you're referring to, and I think Opening Day was a separate form from the other single game orders. I know I was available to buy 4 additional tickets.
  9. if you live near a university with its own printing press, keep your eyes peeled for job openings. Although budgets are tight on campus too, we ALWAYS need print services. UWM, I believe, employs 2-4 pre-press employees.
  10. There's a cap on how much you can receive in subsidized loans...but it's pretty high. That's the only thing I can think of, unless you only checked the unsubsidized loan on your acceptance form.
  11. cast iron skillet, FTW. I'm psyched to use it.
  12. We watched the DVD tonight too. I thought it was good, but wished it was longer and had more player interviews. Maybe even showing more of "the mood" at Miller Park (tailgating, etc). That typo on the title screen is pretty bad. I can't believe no one caught that.
  13. i concur, hawing.
  14. The first game broadcast on MLB Network will be Don Larsen's perfect game in the 1956 World Series. Airing with original commercials, broadcast by Mel Allen and Vin Scully. I'm hoping the network continues with stuff like this during the off season - it will help me brush up on my baseball history, which is horribly lacking. link another link
  15. Is it a normal thing for people to throw with a radar gun around? I throw harder than most girls - that's all I've got. When I was in little league I pitched in one or two games. Pretty sure I hit a few people.
  16. Bacon Explosion
  17. During the academic year, the Gasthaus in the basement of the UWM Union shows the games. They have a designated drinking area, but the area where you order food is separate and non-drinking. It closes in mid-May through August 31.
  18. The drifts in my driveway today almost made me cry. I sucked it up and found someone on Craigslist to come shovel/plow. Here's hoping they show up.
  19. Didn't he always used to walk around wearing surgical masks? That would explain some of his weird behavior.
  20. Thank you for summarizing my thoughts so well for potential buyers.
  21. my house is no match for this wind and the -30 windchill. My laptop is cold to the touch.
  22. I feel your pain. I worked my butt off to clear the waist-high pile at the end of the driveway before I expected someone at 10AM....when they left at 11:30 the plow managed to put another knee-high drift in its place. In the morning I need to call in all the cars that are parked on teh wrong side of the street, causing the plow to put the extra on my side instead. Someone, please by my house quickly. I'm sick of snow removal.
