  1. Looks like that's the plan: That Should Be It For Mota
  2. T Bone- I just stumbled upon this thread. It seems like a lot of people are being hard on you. You're not too far behind the curve, unless you're trying to get in to a very competitive school. A 27 on the ACT and a GPA above 3.0 will get you into pretty much any UW school except Madison (and it doesn't necessarily exclude Madison, they're just tougher). I had a 29 on my ACT, a 3.9 GPA in high school, and a crappy guidance counselor, and I didn't apply to any school until February of my senior year. That's pretty late, and I wouldn't recommend it, but I graduated in 4 years, have a good job at UW-Milwaukee, and I will have my masters from Marquette in May. My tuition was cheap (UWSP), and I got a "general" degree (communication), but I firmly believe your marketability after college greatly depends on what you do to develop yourself as a person/leader while you're there. Join organizations, play sports, take leadership roles, form strong relationships with professors, etc. I grew up in Wisconsin Rapids and went to school in Stevens Point and really liked it. It was far enough away that I didn't feel like I was at home, but close enough that mom could come and take me out to lunch or dinner when $$ was tight. They have a decent baseball program, and since they're D3 I doubt anyone is on scholarship, so you could talk to the athletic department about trying out. I loved Stevens Point. For a D3 team, their athletics had a lot going on. I believe one winter we were men's and women's hockey national champs, as well as men's or women's basketball. My experience at Marquette is very different because I'm a graduate student, but I was amazed at the difference between a public and private school. Not sure what kind of high school you're in, but I'm pretty sure I would take the public school route at any point in my education if given the choice, just because it's what I'm used to.
  3. The Giants lot is the only acceptable lot. Easier to get out of, shorter lines for the bathrooms (although they do need more over there), fun crowd walking back under the bridge, don't have to get stuck in interstate traffic to get there. I heart the Giants lot.
  4. Oh, they're at the door. I just have it barricaded pretty well. I'm only 25, and at this point I'm more committed to the Brewers than any guy. Even in the light of last season, the Crew is more reliable. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Additional confession: I've been on vacation all week, and I've probably spent at least 30% of my time on BF.net
  5. If you make a shirt that says "Trenni in Training" I will definitely buy it. However, that's probably not the demographic you're going for...
  6. This doesn't bother me at all, as long as the "die hard fan" is explaining the game correctly. It's the people that try to make themselves look smart by giving out false information that really irk me. I like the idea of this thread, but doesn't it seem like it's about 50% confession, 50% rant? My confession: Although I've always been a baseball fan (I played little league), and I could name players from the 80's and 90's (mostly because I collected baseball cards with my brother), I didn't really start following the Brewers until 2007. However, I hate that the second I say that, everyone assumes I'm a bandwagon fan. I made the decision in January 2007 to head to spring training in Phoenix with Dad, and from the first day on I knew I really missed baseball. I saw Braun for the first time and decided he'd be my favorite player...I made sure I could recognize everyone without looking at their jerseys (the people that do that at spring training really irk me)...I busted out a scorecard and brushed up on my scorekeeping skills. And as luck would have it, the first 3 months of the season were incredibly exciting. Even though we didn't make the playoffs, I attended 40+ games and purchased a full season ticket package for this year. I apparently picked a bad year to start being a fan, because now I'm not genuine enough. EDIT: Addition to confession: I'm about to go to bed. My pajamas consist of polka dot brewers pants and an oversize Ryan Braun shirt. I even bought Brewers underwear at the sale last winter - I'm saving them for the playoffs.
  7. Wow, the projection of 42,500 tonight was right on. If I remember correctly, the attendance announced at the game was 42,533.
  8. Insomniac, your shirt (and perhaps your girlfriend?) got a mention in the Journal Sentinel: link
  9. I know Baseball Prospectus says he's throwing, but Tom Haudricourt says otherwise: But Gallardo and the Brewers still have hope - albeit it slim - that he could return sometime in September. He has not begun to throw yet but is making nice progress in the rehabilitation program on the knee. link
  10. You do know it's a day game, right?
  11. Totally doesn't look like a strike. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif And, why are the stands always empty in these videos?
  12. I love the comment on YouTube: "You should have probably practiced with a baseball."
  13. Apparently this is about 6 months old, but this is the first time I've seen it. Hillarious. Looks like JJ Hardy at the end.... EDIT: I was chastised for the misspelling. It's now fixed. I noticed it when I posted it and just kind of didn't care.
  14. It took the catcher awhile to get into it.......@@$? EDIT: i didn't know the three letter abbreviation for a an exclamation of surprise including a cuss word was included in the cuss word filter. Oops.
  15. To answer my own question, in case others are looking, here's a link to the 6PM press conference from yesterday.
  16. Sounds like this lady friend may be worth keeping in touch with more often http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  17. I think he switches between a couple songs. Sometimes it sounds like country, and other times alternative/hard rock. A lot of players have switched their songs lately (or switched back, in Prince's case) and I don't recognize any of them. How am I supposed to make a mix! The ones that have changed that I don't know now are: Bill Hall Russell Branyan (well, never knew his) Mike Cameron Corey Hart I'll try to pay more attention tomorrow, but I'm pretty sure I'll just be thinking "CC...CC...CC..." Oh, they also changed the music for the top of the first. Today it was Pressure by Queen.
  18. I'm tailgating with two of my friends on Thursday. We've dubbed it LizKeriLaura Super Fun Day. It should be a good time.
  19. no press conference link, really? I can't find one, but I gotta believe it's out there somewhere (I'm referring to the 6PM press conference)
  20. I am so glad I pay the $3.99/month for this service. I get news like this before it hits jsonline. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  21. I scooped you by 1 minute in the pitching staff thread http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I like this move.
  22. I just got a text from MLB that Suppan is going on the 15-day DL to make a spot for CC on the 25-man roster.
  23. Some day I too will have a BOC...
  24. Might as well get Sunday tickets to make a weekend of it and see CC's 2nd start http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
