  1. 1250 finally gave Cliff the boot, thank God. Both stations have their ups and downs. A couple of days ago Homer and a caller were debating whether to bring Branyan back, both obvlivious to the fact he has signed with Seattle.
  2. Which games are broadcast is an FSN/Bucks decision not DirecTV. If the game is televised, DirecTV will carry it, on channel 669.
  3. I thought it was pretty good too. If people are going to compare it to GNR with Slash then yeah maybe they will be disappointed because that's not what it is. But judging it on it's own I like it.
  4. As someone who was in the fifth row when GNR opened their world tour at Alpine Valley in 1991 I'll be buying it, Slash or no Slash http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif But with Velvet Revolver done they just need to get the original band back together (minus Steven Adler). Well actually Tracii Guns and others were in the original band. I mean circa 1991 http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  5. I think Hank assumed CC would just immediately jump at their offer and now that he hasn't Hank is a little ticked off. Hence the "deadline".
  6. The ringtone on my phone for a long time has been Ueck's call of Sveum's Easter Sunday home run. It may be time to make a change.
  7. Maybe if they had sprayed Robinade in the locker room it would have made Robin want to come back... Initially Robin didn't come back to the Brewers because his kids were still in school, which is why he took the job with the Diamondbacks. Once his kids were out of high school he took the job here as bench coach under Ned. And while there was no one single reason why he quit, Michelle not wanting him here was a big part of it.
  8. Yount's wife does not want him doing it, that's the main reason he left the first time.
  9. I parked in preferred parking for every game I went to this year (30-35), I never had a pass, I always paid cash. Unless they just did that for Cubs games, I didn't go to any of those. But it's a moot point since you are correct, for the playoffs you won't get preferred parking the day of the game.
  10. The Brewers are in a box when it comes to brining in more revenue. Attendance can go up a little bit, you can raise ticket prices a little bit. Our TV/radio deal is locked in for 4 more years. Mark A. has said the Crew needs to get to the World Series to break even with a $90 million payroll. As much as we want CC to stay and as much as he would like to stay (I believe he does), it's just not going to happen.
  11. We can replace injured players (like Sheets) but the replacement has to have been on the 40 man roster as of September 1 (according to TH). That leaves out Coffey. As for whether the other guys can still travel with the team and be in the dugout, that's an interesting question. Guys on the DL can do it during the regular season but I don't know if "extra" guys can in the playoffs. I think it would be a great thing for our young guys (Gamel, Escobar, etc) to get playoff exposure by being with the team this week.
  12. Yeah, I don't know if we can, or should, be looking past the Philly series.
  13. thanks for giving it some thought. 3 2/3 innings, 8 hits, 6 runs, 4 walks. On September 14. In Philly. Doesn't take a whole lot of thought to think just maybe Suppan isn't the best option. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif ETA: If his most recent Philadelphia nightmare isn't enough to scare you, he's started 2 other games in Philly the past couple of years: 10 innings, 17 hits, 13 runs (9 earned), 4 homers, 3 walks. So in his last 3 starts there: 13 2/3 innings, 25 hits, 15 ER's, 5 homers, 7 walks.
  14. Anyone who saw Suppan pitch in Philly a couple of weeks ago can't possible suggest he should be pitching there again in the post season.
  15. Many years ago the Brewers and Bucks actually had their own network. It was called Midwest SportsVue. They were going to try to add Badger games to the network. It cost $12 a month and bombed.
  16. Witrado has acted like a 2 year old many times when he does the mailbag.
  17. Yes it looks like he edited it out after someone complained. First he said he wasn't even going to read the comments or post in the comments, then when someone complained he took out the email address.
  18. Garry Howard is a joke as a sports editor. All he cares about is keeping his courtside seats for Bucks games. Meanwhile his beat reporter, Tom Enlund, has to sit 25 rows up at a press table in section 212. Not that it matters much, Enlund is as big a hack as Haudricourt. Howard wakes up a couple of times a year to write a column on the Bucks (as he did this week) and then he goes back to sleep until the NBA season starts.
  19. Thanks man, I've been too busy today and haven't had the Kerry Woods Blister Update http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  20. I'm not saying the Brewers don't get any coverage. The Sabathia trade threw them into the spotlight. That's great. But the "Samardzija is the next big thing" plus the "everything you've always wanted to know about blisters" has been nauseating. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  21. Have you been following their extensive coverage of Kerry Woods blister? Riveting. Especially the expert opinions of various doctors as to how long it takes for a blister to heal. Love it. And I can't get enough of the life story of Jeff Samardzija, who has pitched a whopping 4 innings in the bigs. Of course his Notre Dame connection doesn't hurt either. ESPN stroking the big media markets isn't new nor is it unexpected. But let's try not to pretend it doesn't happen.
  22. The Cubs have been ESPN darlings all season, they are milking the 100 year thing to the max. The Brewers haven't received anywhere near the coverage, nor will they going forward.
  23. That wouldn't have been the case had the Cubs lost last night.
