  1. We have Bud as commish and Laurel Prieb working for the commish. I'm sure they can juice the results in Braun's favor.
  2. If it is will you gasp in horror? I hope it isn't. It would completely ruin the game for me.
  3. I'm glad he was able to have his day at MP before he passed. RIP.
  4. Yeah Hudson is a free agent after this year so he would likely be a rental.
  5. Well this is the time of year when every GM is talking with every other GM so I wouldn't put a whole lot of stock into what Sutton says. Sure maybe they are talking. But we're talking with 20+ other teams as well.
  6. On a related note Nathans 4th of July hot dog eating contest has been shortened from 12 minutes to 10.
  7. Don Walker never misses a story. I didn't realize there is a National Hot Dog & Sausage Council
  8. Badger hockey averages between 12,000 and 13,000. Hockey capacity at the Kohl Center is 15,237.
  9. It will be interesting to see who is the long reliever tonight if Soup gets shelled. It will probably have to be Mota for a couple and Riske for a couple. With CV going yesterday we basically have no other long relievers now.
  10. I'd just be happy if they could switch to the right camera so we can see the play live. I realize it's unpredictable and you never know what's going to happen but other baseball directors do it fine. Ours does not. As an added bonus I'd like to see stats that ESPN shows updated by the count. They show the hitters stats after each pitch, 0-1, 1-1, 2-1, etc... But that's asking for too much from a channel that can't even get the actual count right a lot of the time.
  11. I hope we see a nice 8-1 Brewer lead tonight so we can see what we have with him.
  12. I hope you're right. But his struggles actually go back to his last 40 innings, longer than his "good" stretch in Texas. I really hope I'm wrong here. I'd love an effective Gagne instead of Mota in the 8th.
  13. Yeah but we lost the game. Have to keep him OFF the field. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  14. The OBP police will be at your door later today http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  15. Yeah I always pad the 3 hour window. Once in awhile they schedule a 6 hour window for some reason. I like that I can set it to record from their website. Sometimes I forget to set the DVR for a day game and I can just do it at work on the directv website.
  16. That was your brother? Very cool.
  17. Hopefully the tired "his OBP isn't good enough" debate doesn't start up again. IT DOESN'T MATTER. The bottom line is one of these two guys is going to be the starter, like it or not. So if you will enjoy the game more with Braun as the starter you have 2 1/2 days to vote.
  18. 8 "bad" outings and 12 "good" outings is horrible. Using the same line of reasoning Mark D had one bad outing (his first one) and since then has allowed 3 earned runs in 12+ innings. With NO walks. Pretty damn good. I, like all Brewer fans, hopes Gagne turns it around. But he has pitched 40 games and 38 innings with the Crew and Boston. That's more than he pitched in Texas (34 games, 33 innings). The trend is definitely downward. If the goal is playoffs this year then you put your best pitchers in the bullpen.
  19. San Diego was in the thick of a pennant race when they traded us Linebrink. That alone speaks volumes.
  20. Games were in HD on DirecTV in Milwaukee.
  21. DiFelice posted a 3.95 ERA in 10 appearances, striking out 16 without a walk over 13 2-3 innings. Gagne meanwhile has pitched 19 innings with 16 walks and a 6.98 ERA. I don't give a crap how much money he makes he shouldn't be allowed near the mound.
  22. Update from Jayson Stark: Something brewing: Here at World Rumblings Headquarters, we're hearing the same noises that our buddy Buster Olney has been hearing -- that the Brewers loom as one of the most serious potential bidders on Sabathia, even if he's just a rent-a-starter. The Brewers have a deep system. And principal owner Mark Attanasio has made it clear to his baseball operation that it's time to go for it. So if Sabathia winds up somewhere other than Milwaukee, said one baseball man who has spoken with GM Doug Melvin, "it won't be because they're afraid to give up their prospects."
  23. This area went absolutely nuts in 1982. And that was with just a 5 game series against the Angels and then the World Series. Now there is an extra round of playoffs. Too bad the effect only lasted one year. 1983 was a then record attendance year but by 1984 we were in last place.
