  1. I’d really like the Packers to get Saturday game next week so they could get an extra day of rest before the NFC Championship (assuming they win). I think the NFL is more likely to put the Packers in the Saturday Divisional game if their opponent wins today. I’m surprised the NFL doesn’t put the NFC’s divisional games on one day and the AFC’s two games on the other day,
  2. Rough order of NFC teams I’d prefer the Packers not face: 1) Saints - so many weapons 2) Buccaneers - Brady + ‘punch in the mouth D’ 3) Rams - ‘punch in the mouth D’ 4) Seahawks - not that scary, but they get lucky 5) Bears or WFT
  3. The fact that Wisconsin treats first and second OWI offenses lighter than most states doesn’t bother me much. The penalties are still pretty stiff. However, I’m shocked that someone can hit double digits and not be in prison for life. 18?!?!
  4. The Colts could have kicked a FG near the end of the second quarter, but went for it on 4th and goal from the 4. I like the shift to aggressive play, but sometimes you just gotta take the points.
  5. An article in my local news reported a citizen was arrested for his 18th OWI offense. I’m all for second (and even third) chances when it comes to OWI, but this guy is clearly a danger to society. https://www.wbay.com/2021/01/08/crash-knocks-out-power-on-east-side-of-green-bay/
  6. Graham Harrell is apparently a finalist for the Boise State HC opening.
  7. The only reason it was that low is because of other factors though it did increase in price magically after all of the gold was stolen from the American people by FDR. The greatest transfer of wealth from the regular people to the government in recent history. I believe going back to the gold standard will actually increase the wealth of the poor and return what was wrongfully stolen from the people. When gold became illegal for individuals to own during the Great Depression, the US government bought it back from individuals at $25/oz and then later declared its value to be $35/oz. That’s a pretty big swindle, but it doesn’t explain how gold went from $35 to $1,900.
  8. A rare car might be a good store of value, but it’s not really a suitable medium of exchange (you can’t use it to buy groceries). Bitcoin and precious metals are easily divisible and could be used to facilitate commerce. I think we can forget a return to the gold standard. When FDR took the US off the gold standard in 1933, the price of gold was $25 per ounce. Today gold is ~$1,900 per ounce. People are going to know something is up.
  9. Did anyone else catch that after Dominique Daffney spiked the ball following his first TD catch, Allen Lazard tracked it down for him? I thought that was a neat gesture.
  10. This is why I like crypto. I don’t own much, but its very existence might force central banks to act more responsibly. Competition is good.
  11. Even the most bullish crypto enthusiasts probably view Bitcoin as a viable alternative to the fiat currency issued by governments (not a replacement). Me personally? I’m a little skeptical, but I like diversification and value freedom of choice.
  12. Sure, as the population grows, the average person might possess less Bitcoin. However, the remaining Bitcoin would be more valuable. If a new car costs 1 Bitcoin in 2050, it might only cost 0.99 Bitcoin in 2051.
  13. My local gas station advertises that they sell Bitcoin (via a kiosk), but they don’t accept it as payment. Ironic?
  14. I have some reservations about Bitcoin, but I’ll bite here. Part of Bitcoin’s appeal is that there is a finite supply. There will only ever be 21 million Bitcoins. Meanwhile, countries print new fiat money every day. Even gold, which has a fixed supply on Earth, could hypothetically be mined from other planets or asteroids some day.
  15. Heck, I’m skeptical of my modest home in Green Bay appreciating by 20% in the last 5 years, but here we are.
  16. We now live in an age where teams go for it on fourth down more often. I'm sure it will happen more and more. It’s bound to happen more often, but it’s still pretty darn impressive.
  17. Crosby finished with a perfect FG%. I hope he makes the All-Pro team.
  18. I only care about the bye. Meh ... I’m happy to have the bye, but guys get hurt in practice too. Losing Bahktiari has really bummed me out.
  19. I always thought the #1 seed played on Saturday to preserve their advantage (extra day of rest vs, the #2 seed in a hypothetical NFC championship game), but since that would benefit the Packers, I’m going to say it no longer works that way.
  20. [sarcasm]Nah, it's all good. He catches 3 more long TDs ... just keep watching. [/sarcasm] Ha. I’m a realist. With MVS, I know you take the good with the bad. His speed blows the top off the defense, which opens things up underneath for Rodgers and Co. to work.
  21. I’m not watching the scoreboard today. If the Packers lose this game, they are pretenders, not contenders.
  22. I found myself wondering what percentage of 4th downs have been converted by opponents against the Packers this year. Seems high.
  23. I’m still a little behind on the DVR, but it feels like the game really turned on the MVS dropped TD pass at the beginning of the 3rd quarter.
  24. What gives you the impression that there wont be ANY help from the 49ers? Defense I still dont think has allowed a TD and they seem to be in a dogfight atleast. I’m conditioned to believe that if there’s an opportunity for Seattle to get lucky, they will get lucky.
  25. Does anyone else have a young professionals association in their area? As best I can tell, they meet once a month to network and then vote themselves awards at the end of the year to honor the best networker.
